< Job 20 >

1 Then Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
Te phoeiah Naamathi Zophar loh a doo tih,
2 “I'm forced to reply because I'm really upset!
“Te dongah ka pomnah kai n'thuung tih kamah khuiah ka tawn uh coeng dongah ni.
3 What I hear you say insults me, but I know how to reply to you!
Ka thuituennah he mingthae la ka yaak dongah ka yakmingnah dongah mueihla loh kai n'doo.
4 Don't you know that since ancient times, since human beings were put on this earth,
Suen lamloh diklai dongah hlang a khueh parhi te na ming a?
5 that the triumph of the wicked doesn't last long, that those who reject God are only happy for a short time?
Halang kah omngaih laa tah yoei tih lailak kah kohoenah khaw mikhaptok hil mai ni.
6 Even though they are so tall they reach the heavens, even though their heads reach the clouds,
A thinlennah te vaan duela cet tih a lu loh khomai duela puet cakhaw,
7 they will vanish forever like their own excrement. People who knew them will ask, ‘Where have they gone?’
a aek bangla a yoeyah la milh vetih anih aka hmu rhoek loh, “Anih ta?” a ti uh ni.
8 They will vanish like a dream, never to be found, fleeing like a vision of the night.
Mang bangla a ding phoeiah tah anih te hmu uh pawh. Khoyin kah olphong bangla khum hmata.
9 Those who once saw them will not see them anymore; their families will never set eyes on them again.
A mik loh a hmuh khaw rhaep mahpawh. Anih te amah hmuen ah mae voel mahpawh.
10 Their children will have to pay back the poor; they will have to return their wealth.
A ca rhoek loh tattloel rhoek te a moeithen uh tih a kut loh a thahuem te a mael uh.
11 Though the wicked have bodies that are young and strong, they will die and be buried.
A rhuh tah a cacawn rhoek bangla hah uh dae a cacawn rhoek khaw amah neh laipi dongah ni a. yalh eh.
12 Though evil tastes sweet in their mouths and they hide it under their tongues,
A ka dongah tui mai cakhaw boethae te a lai hmui ah a thuh.
13 not letting it go but keeping it in their mouths,
Te te a hnaih tih a toeng pawt dongah a ka khui la a ma-uem.
14 in their stomachs it turns bitter, becoming like snake venom inside them.
A bung khuikah a buh te a khui ah minta sue la poeh ni.
15 They swallow wealth and vomit it up again; God forces it from their stomachs.
Khuehtawn a dolh vaengah a bung khui lamloh lok vetih anih te Pathen loh a talh ni.
16 They suck in snake venom; the bite of the viper will kill them.
Minta sue loh a khut vetih rhulthae lai loh amah a ngawn ni.
17 They will not live to enjoy the streams, the rivers of milk and honey.
Soklong, tuiva neh khorha kah khoitui neh suknaeng te hmuh mahpawh.
18 They will have to give back what they have gained and will not have any benefit; they will not enjoy any of their profits.
Thatloh phu te a thuung akhaw a hnothung kah thadueng bangla a dolh pawt dongah yoka pawh.
19 For they have oppressed and abandoned the poor; they have seized houses they did not build.
tattloel te a neet phoeiah amah loh a sak mueh im te a hnoo sak tih a rawth pah.
20 Because their greed was never satisfied, nothing they liked is left that they didn't consume.
A bungko lamkah thayoeituipan te ming pawt tih a nai nen khaw loeih pawh.
21 Nothing escapes their ravenous appetites, so their happiness doesn't last long.
A caak ham caknoi om pawh. Te dongah a thennah poem hae mahpawh.
22 Even when the wicked have all that they want they run into trouble; all kinds of misery will fall upon them.
A khuehtawn neh a hah vaengah anih te a daengdaeh vetih thakthaekung kah kut boeih te anih soah thoeng ni.
23 While they are busy filling their bellies, God's hostility will burn against them, raining down on them.
Anih bung hah sak ham a taengah amah kah thintoek thinsa a tueih pah vetih a buhcak te anih soah a tlan sak.
24 As they flee to escape an iron weapon, a bronze arrow will strike them down.
Thicung lungpok haica lamloh yong dae anih te rhohum lii loh a kah.
25 The arrow is pulled out of their gall bladder, glistening with blood. They are absolutely terrified!
A yueh vaengah a pumpu lamloh a pawlh pah. Te vaengah a hmuet khui lamkah mueirhih te amah soah rhaek la a caeh pah ni.
26 All they value will disappear into the darkness; divine fire will destroy them; all they have left will go up in smoke.
Hmaisuep cungkuem te khoem hamla a tung. A hmuh mueh hmai loh anih te a hlawp vetih a dap kah rhaengnaeng khaw a talh pah ni.
27 The heavens reveal what they have done wrong; the earth will rise up against them.
Anih kathaesainah te vaan loh a hliphen uh vetih diklai loh amah taengah a tai pah ni.
28 All their possessions will be carried from their homes; they will be dragged off on the day of God's judgment.
A thintoeknah hnin ah tah a im kah cangpai khaw a poelyoe pah vetih a hawk pah ni.
29 This is the share the wicked receive from God, the inheritance God says they should have.”
Halang hlang loh tebang khoyo te Pathen taeng lamkah a dang tih Pathen loh a ol rho la a khueh pah,” a ti.
