१नंतर ईयोबने उत्तर दिले आणि म्हणाला,
2 “How long will you go on tormenting me? How long will you go on crushing me with words?
२“तुम्ही मला किती वेळ माझ्या जीवाला त्रास देणार आहात? आणि शब्दांनी मला मोडणार आहात?
3 Ten times already you have humiliated me. Aren't you ashamed for treating me so badly?
३तुम्ही आतापर्यंत दहा वेळा माझा अपमान केला आहे. तुम्ही कठोरतेने माझ्याबरोबर वागता त्याची लाजही बाळगत नाही
4 Even if I did sin, that's my problem, and has nothing to do with you.
४जर खरच मी काही चुक केली असेल तर, ती चुक माझी मला आहे.
5 You think you're so much better than me, and you use my degradation against me.
५तुम्ही माझ्यापेक्षा चांगले आहात एवढेच तुम्हास दाखवायचे आहे, माझी संकटे माझ्या चुकीमुळेच निर्माण झाली आहेत असे तुम्ही (उगीचच) म्हणता.
6 But you should realize that it's God who has wronged me, he has trapped me in his net.
६मग तुम्हास हे माहीती पाहिजे कि, देवानेच मला पकडण्यासाठी जाळे टाकले आहे.
7 Even though I cry for help, I get no answer; even though I shout my objections, I get no justice.
७‘पाहा, असे मी ओरडतो कि मी चुकीचे केले आहे, पण कोणी ऐकले नाही. मी मदतीसाठी जोरात ओरडलो तरी न्याय मिळत नाही.
8 God has walled me in so I can't escape; he has plunged my path into darkness.
८मी पुढे जाऊ नये म्हणून देवाने माझ्या मार्गात अडथळा आणला. त्याने माझ्या मार्गावर अंधकार पाडला आहे.
9 He has stripped my honor from me; he has taken away my reputation.
९देवाने माझी प्रतिष्ठा धुळीला मिळवली. आणि त्याने माझ्या डोक्यावरचा मुकुट काढून घेतला.
10 He tears me down from all sides until I am finished; he has destroyed my hope like a tree that is uprooted.
१०माझा सर्वनाश होईपर्यंत देव मला चाऱ्ही बाजूंनी झोडपतो. एखादे झाड मुळासकट उपटून काढावे त्याप्रमाणे त्याने माझ्या आशा उपटून टाकल्या आहेत.
11 His anger burns against me; he treats me as one of his enemies.
११त्याचा क्रोध मला जाळीत आहे, तो मला त्याचा एक शत्रू असे संबोधतो.
12 God's troops assemble to attack me. They build ramparts against me. They encircle and besiege my home.
१२त्याचे सैन्य माझ्यावर हल्ला करण्यासाठी पाठवतो ते माझ्याभोवती मोर्चा उभारतात, आणि ते माझ्या डेऱ्याभोवती छावणी टाकतात.
13 He has driven my brothers far away from me; all my former friends are estranged from me.
१३त्याने माझ्या भावांना माझ्यापासुन फार दूर केले आहे, माझ्या सर्वांना दूर ठेवण्याचा अनुभव त्याने मला दिला आहे.
14 My relatives have abandoned me; my close friends have forgotten me.
१४माझे नातलग मला सोडून गेले आहेत, माझ्या जवळचे मित्र मला विसरले आहेत.
15 My house guests and my maidservants treat me as a stranger—to them I have become a foreigner.
१५माझ्या घरी येणारे पाहुणे आणि माझ्या दासी मला परका आणि परदेशातला समजतात, मी त्यांच्या दृष्टीने उपरा झालो आहे.
16 I call my servant, but he doesn't reply. I have to beg him!
१६जरी मी माझ्या मुखाने याचना केली, माझ्या नोकराला बोलावले, तरी तो मला उत्तर देत नाही,
17 I am repulsive to my wife, and I am loathsome to my own brothers.
१७माझी पत्नी माझ्या श्वासाचा तिरस्कार करते, माझे स्वतःचे भाऊ आणि बहिणी माझा तिरस्कार करतात.
18 Even young children despise me; when I stand up they ridicule me.
१८लहान मुलेदेखील मला चिडवतात, जेव्हा मी बोलायला जातो तेव्हा ते माझ्या विरूद्ध बोलतात.
19 All my closest friends despise me, and those I loved have turned on me.
१९माझे जवळचे मित्रदेखील माझा तिरस्कार करतात. माझे ज्यांच्यावर प्रेम आहे ते लोक देखील माझ्याविरुध्द गेले आहेत.
20 I've been reduced to skin and bones and I survive by the skin of my teeth.
२०मी इतका कृश झालो आहे की माझी कातडी हाडांवर लोबंते, मी केवळ दाताच्या कातडीने बचावलो आहे.
21 Have pity on me, my friends, have pity on me, because God has struck me down!
२१माझी दया येऊ द्या, मित्रांनो, तुम्हास माझी दया येऊ द्या! कारण देवाचा हात मजवर पडला आहे.
22 Why are you persecuting me like God does? Aren't you satisfied with getting your pound of flesh?
२२तुम्ही माझा छळ असा करीत आहात जसे तुम्ही देव आहात. माझ्या देहाला सतत त्रास देण्याचा तुम्हास कंटाळा येत नाही का?
23 I wish my words could be written down, recorded in a book,
२३अहो, मी जे बोलतो ते कुणीतरी लिहून ठेवावे! अहो, ते पुस्तकात नमुद करून ठेवायला हवेत.
24 or engraved with an iron pen and molten lead in the rock forever.
२४अहो, मी जे बोलतो ते लोखंडी कलमाने शिश्यावर किंवा पाषाणावर कोरुन कायम करायला हवे.
25 I know my Redeemer is alive, and that he shall finally take the stand for me on the earth.
२५माझा तारण करणारा जिवंत आहे याची मला खात्री आहे. आणि शेवटी तो या पृथ्वीतलावर येऊन उभा राहील.
26 Even though my skin is destroyed, in my body I shall see God.
२६मी जेव्हा माझे शरीर सोडून जाईन तेव्हा आणि माझी कातडी नष्ट होईल तेव्हा सुध्दा मी देवाला पाहू शकेन.
27 I myself will see him—with my own eyes, and not those of someone else! The thought overcomes me!
२७मी देवाला बघेन, तर मी स्वत: च त्यास पाहीन, माझे डोळे त्यास पाहतील, आणि ते परक्यासारखे राहणार नाही. माझा अतंरात्मा झुरत आहे.
28 You say to yourselves, ‘How can we make him suffer so he can see he is the source of his problems?’
२८या सगळ्याचे मूळ माझ्याकडेच आढळून आले आहे, म्हणून याचा छळ कोणत्या प्रकारे करावा असे तुम्ही म्हणाल.
29 You yourselves should fear being punished by God, for you know anger brings God's punishment that accompanies judgment.”
२९तर तुम्हास तलवारीची भीती वाटायला हवी, कारण रागामुळे तलवारीने शासन होते, यावरुन तुम्हास कळेल की न्याय आहे.”
