Job 18
1 Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,
Da antwortete Bildad von Suah und sprach:
2 “How long will you go on talking, hunting for the right words to say? Talk sense if you want us to reply!
Wann wollt ihr der Reden ein Ende machen? Merkt doch; darnach wollen wir reden.
3 Do you think we're dumb animals? Do we look stupid to you?
Warum werden wir geachtet wie Vieh und sind so unrein vor euren Augen?
4 You tear yourself apart with your anger. Do you think the earth has to be abandoned, or the mountains moved, just because of you?
Willst du vor Zorn bersten? Meinst du, daß um deinetwillen die Erde verlassen werde und der Fels von seinem Ort versetzt werde?
5 It's certain that the life of the wicked will end like a lamp that is snuffed out—their flame will shine no more.
Und doch wird das Licht der Gottlosen verlöschen, und der Funke seines Feuers wird nicht leuchten.
6 The light in their home goes out, the lamp hanging above is extinguished.
Das Licht wird finster werden in seiner Hütte, und seine Leuchte über ihm verlöschen.
7 Instead of taking strong strides they stumble, and their own plans cause them to fall.
Seine kräftigen Schritte werden in die Enge kommen, und sein Anschlag wird ihn fällen.
8 Their own feet trip them up and they are caught in a net; as they walk along they fall into a pit.
Denn er ist mit seinen Füßen in den Strick gebracht und wandelt im Netz.
9 A trap grabs them by the heel; a snare tightens around them.
Der Strick wird seine Ferse halten, und die Schlinge wird ihn erhaschen.
10 A noose is hidden on the ground for them; a rope is stretched across the path to trip them.
Sein Strick ist gelegt in die Erde, und seine Falle auf seinem Gang.
11 Terrors scare the wicked, coming at them from every side, chasing them, biting at their heels.
Um und um wird ihn schrecken plötzliche Furcht, daß er nicht weiß, wo er hinaus soll.
12 Hunger robs them of strength; disaster waits for them when they fall.
Hunger wird seine Habe sein, und Unglück wird ihm bereit sein und anhangen.
13 Disease devours their skin; deadly disease consumes their limbs.
Die Glieder seines Leibes werden verzehrt werden; seine Glieder wird verzehren der Erstgeborene des Todes.
14 They are torn from the homes they trusted in and taken to the king of terrors.
Seine Hoffnung wird aus seiner Hütte ausgerottet werden, und es wird ihn treiben zum König des Schreckens.
15 People they don't know will live in their homes; sulfur will be scattered where they used to live.
In seiner Hütte wird nichts bleiben; über seine Stätte wird Schwefel gestreut werden.
16 They wither away, roots below and branches above;
Von unten werden verdorren seine Wurzeln, und von oben abgeschnitten seine Zweige.
17 the memory of them fades from the earth; nobody remembers their names any more.
Sein Gedächtnis wird vergehen in dem Lande, und er wird keinen Namen haben auf der Gasse.
18 They are thrown out of light into darkness, driven from the world.
Er wird vom Licht in die Finsternis vertrieben und vom Erdboden verstoßen werden.
19 They have no children or descendants among their people, and no survivors where they used to live.
Er wird keine Kinder haben und keine Enkel unter seinem Volk; es wird ihm keiner übrigbleiben in seinen Gütern.
20 People of the west are appalled at what happens to them. People of the east are shocked.
Die nach ihm kommen, werden sich über seinen Tag entsetzen; und die vor ihm sind, wird eine Furcht ankommen.
21 This is what happens to the homes of the wicked, to the places of those who reject God.”
Das ist die Wohnung des Ungerechten; und dies ist die Stätte des, der Gott nicht achtet.
