< Jeremiah 50 >

1 This is the Lord's message that he told Jeremiah the prophet to give about Babylon and the country of Babylonia.
Pa inge ma LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik ke siti Babylon ac mwet we:
2 Tell everyone the news! Hold up a sign and shout it out, don't hold back! Tell them, Babylon has fallen! Her god Bel is humiliated; the power of her god Marduk is broken; all Babylon's idols are humiliated and their power is broken.
“Fahkelik pweng se inge nu sin mutunfacl uh! Sulkakinelik! Tulokunak sie mwe akul in sulkakin pweng uh Ac tia okanla! Itukla tari acn Babylon! Bel, god lun acn we, lipikyuki, Ma sruloala lun Babylon akmwekinyeyuk; Ma sruloala orekla in lumahl fukulyuki!
3 A northern nation will come and attack her and turn the country into a wasteland. No one will live there—both people and animals will desert it.
“Sie mutunfacl epang me mweuni Babylonia, ac akmwesisyela. Wangin ma fin acn we. Mwet, ac ma orakrak, ac fah kaingelik liki acn we.”
4 That's the time when the people of Israel and Judah will join together, weeping as they go to worship the Lord their God, declares the Lord.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Ke pacl sac ac tuku, kewana mwet Israel ac mwet Judah fah tung na tuku in sukyu, God lalos.
5 They will ask the way to Zion, and start going in that direction. They will arrive and commit themselves to the Lord in an everlasting agreement that won't ever be forgotten.
Elos ac siyuk inkanek nu Zion, na elos ac ut we. Elos ac oru sie wulela kawil yuruk, ac elos fah tiana kunausla.
6 My people are sheep that are lost, led astray by their shepherds, making them wander aimlessly in the mountains. They go from place to place in the mountains and hills, forgetting where they used to rest.
“Mwet luk elos oana sheep ma mwet shepherd lalos fuhlela elos tuhlac fineol uh. Elos foroht forma inmasrlon eol uh oana sheep ma nukanla acn selos.
7 All those who came across them attacked them. Their enemies declared, “We're not to blame! They're the ones who sinned against the Lord, their true resting place; the Lord who was the hope of their forefathers.”
Mwet nukewa su liyalos elos onelosi. Mwet lokoalok lalos fahk, ‘Elos orekma koluk lain LEUM GOD, ouinge wangin mwatasr ke ma kut oru inge. Mwet matu lalos tuh lulalfongi in LEUM GOD, ac fal na elos in inse pwaye pac nu sel.’
8 Run away from the city of Babylon; get away from the country of Babylonia! Lead the way like the male goats that lead the flock.
“Mwet Israel, kowos in kaing liki Babylonia! Som liki facl sac! Oru in kowos pa som liki acn we emeet
9 Look! I'm assembling a coalition of strong northern nations who will come and attack Babylon. They will line up in battle against her; she will be conquered from the north. Their arrows will be like the best warriors—they don't miss!
Nga ac purakak sie u in mutunfacl na ku in acn epang, ac oru elos in mweuni Babylonia. Elos ac fah takla mweun lainul ac kutangulla. Elos mwet mweun su pisrla oana mwet sruh kosro, ac mwe pisr natulos uh tia wi oalla liki ma elos pisrik uh.
10 Babylonia will be plundered—everyone who plunders her will have plenty of loot, declares the Lord.
Babylonia ac fah wapiyukla, ac elos su usla ma we fah usla ma nukewa elos lungse. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
11 Though for now you Babylonians celebrate and sing triumphantly as you plunder my special people, though for now you jump around like a frisky young cow treading out the grain, and neigh like stallions,
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet Babylonia, kowos tuh utyak, kunausla ac pisrala ma lun mwet in mutunfacl sik. Kowos engan ac insewowo — kowos forfor oana soko cow mutan ma lolongya kulun wheat, ku sasa oana soko horse,
12 you are going to bring shame on your mother, you are going to disgrace the one who gave birth to you. Watch as she becomes the least important of all the nations, a wilderness, a dry desert land.
tusruktu siti fulat suwos, su oana sie nina nu suwos, ac fah aklusrongtenyeyuk ac akmwekinyeyuk. Babylonia ac fah mutunfacl se ma pilasr oemeet inmasrlon mutunfacl uh. Facl suwos ac fah ekla sie acn mwesis su wangin kof we.
13 Because of Lord's angry punishment, she will be deserted, completely desolate. Everyone who passes by will be horrified at what has happened to Babylon, and sneer at all her wounds.
Ke sripen kasrkusrak luk, wangin sie mwet ac fah muta Babylon — ac fah filiyuki in oanna musalla, ac elos nukewa su fahsryak we ac fah lut ac fwefela kac.
14 All you archers, line up ready for battle around Babylon. Shoot at her! Don't save your arrows, because she has sinned against the Lord.
“Mwet pisr, kowos takla in mweun lain Babylon ac kuhlasulak. Pusrukla kewa mwe pisr nutuwos an nu Babylon, mweyen el orekma koluk lainyu, LEUM GOD.
15 Shout war-cries against her from every side! She holds up her hands in surrender. Her towers have collapsed; her walls are demolished. This is the Lord paying her back, so you too can pay her back—do the same to her as she did to others.
Wowoyak ke pusren kutangla, ac rauneak siti uh! Inge Babylon el srasrapo. Pot we fokfoki ac mwet uh utyak nu we ac eisla siti uh. Nga oru foloksak luk nu fin mwet Babylonia. Ouinge oru foloksak lowos nu selos, fal nu ke ma elos oru nu sin mwet saya uh.
16 Stop the sower from sowing in the country of Babylon, and stop the harvester swinging the sickle to reap the grain. Under the threat of the enemies' swords, everyone runs home to their own people, they go back to where they came from.
Mwetsac nukewa fin acn Babylonia ac fah sangeng sin un mwet mweun ma mweuni acn we, ac elos fah folokla nu yen selos. Nimet lela in oasr pacl in yukwiya ku kosrani in facl sac.”
17 The Israelites are a flock that's been chased and scattered by lions. The first on the attack was the king of Assyria; then lastly Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon crushed their bones.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet Israel elos oana sheep ma lion uh ukwauk ac akfahsryelik. Elos tuh mweuniyuk meet sin Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria, na toko Tokosra Nebuchadnezzar lun Babylonia el wela srelos.
18 So this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I'm going to punish the king of Babylon and his country just like I punished the king of Assyria.
Ke sripen ma inge, nga LEUM GOD Kulana, God lun Israel, fah kael Tokosra Nebuchadnezzar ac facl sel, oana ke nga tuh kalyael Tokosra Fulat lun Assyria.
19 I will lead the Israelites back to their pasturelands, to feed on Carmel and Bashan, to satisfy their appetites on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.
Nga fah folokonak mwet Israel nu facl selos. Elos ac fah kang mongo ma kap Fineol Carmel ac in acn Bashan, ac elos fah kang ma nukewa elos lungse ke fokin acn Ephraim ac Gilead.
20 This will be when the guilt and the sins of Israel and Judah will be looked for, but none will be found, because I will forgive those people who remain that I'm looking after, declares the Lord.
Ke pacl sacn, wangin ma koluk fah koneyukyak in Israel, ac wangin ma sutuu fah koneyukyak in Judah, mweyen nga ac nunak munas nu sin mwet pu su nga lela in painmoulla. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
21 Go and attack the land of Merathaim, and the people living in Pekod. Kill them with swords, set them apart for destruction, along with everything they leave behind. Make sure you do everything I have ordered you to do, declares the Lord.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mweuni mwet Merathaim ac mwet Pekod. Onelosla ac kunauselosla. Oru ma nukewa nga sapkin nu suwos. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
22 The noise of battle is heard in the country, the noise of terrible destruction.
Kusen mweun lohngyuk in facl sac, ac oasr mwe ongoiya lulap.
23 See how the hammer of the whole earth is lying broken in pieces in the ground! The nations look with horror on what Babylon has become!
Babylonia el oana sie hammer su tuktukya faclu nufon, ac inge hammer sac arulana musalla. Mutunfacl nukewa elos lut ke ma sikyak nu ke facl sac.
24 Babylon, I set a trap for you, and you were caught before you realized it. You were hunted down and captured because you fought against the Lord.
Babylonia, kom tuh mweun lainyu, ac inge kom sremla ke sruhf se ma nga oakiya in srifusrkomi, kom finne tia etu lah kom sremla kac.
25 In his anger the Lord opened his armory to bring out his weapons, for this is what the Lord God Almighty is doing in the country of Babylonia.
Nga ikasla acn kufwen mwe mweun luk oan we, ac in kasrkusrak luk, nga tella nu saya mweyen oasr ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulat lana ac Kulana, akoo in oru Babylonia.
26 Come and attack her from every side! Open her granaries; collect the loot you take from her like piles of grain. Set her apart for destruction; don't leave any survivors.
Kowos in tuku liki yen loessula ac mweuni Babylonia, ac fukulya acn in filma yen wheat lal uh oan we! Yolsani ma wap in oana yol in wheat! Kunausla facl sac, ac nimet likiya kutena ma in oan we!
27 Kill all her young bulls with the sword; let them be slaughtered. What a disaster for them, because their time has come when they're punished.
Uniya mwet mweun lal nukewa! Pakelosi! We nu sin mwet Babylonia! Pa inge pacl in kalya nu selos!” (
28 (Listen to the refugees and survivors who have returned from Babylonia, announcing in Zion, “The Lord our God is paying them back for what happened to his Temple.”)
Mwet ma kaingla liki Babylonia in suk moul lalos elos tuku nu Jerusalem ac srumun luman foloksak lun LEUM GOD lasr ke ma mwet Babylonia elos tuh oru nu ke Tempul lal.)
29 Call up the archers to attack Babylon, yes, all of them! Completely surround her—don't let anyone escape. Pay her back for what she's done, because in her pride she defied the Lord, Israel's Holy One.
“Solama mwet pisr nukewa in mweuni Babylon. Supwalik mwet nukewa ma etu orekmakinyen mwe pisr ac sukan pisr. Kulasak siti uh ac nikmet lela kutena mwet in kaingla. Folokonang nu sel ma nukewa ma el tuh orala, ac oru nu sel oana el tuh oru nu sin mwet, mweyen el orek inse fulat lainyu, Nga Su Mutallana lun Israel.
30 As a result her young men will be killed in the streets; all her soldiers will die that day, declares the Lord.
Ke ma inge mwet fusr lal ac fah anwuki ke inkanek in siti uh, ac mwet mweun lal nukewa fah anwukla in len sac. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
31 Watch out, because I'm against you, you arrogant people! declares the Lord God Almighty. Your time has come when I will punish you.
“Mwet Babylonia, yoklana filang lowos. Ke ma inge nga, LEUM GOD Fulat lana ac Kulana, lain kowos! Pacl fal luk in kalyei kowos.
32 You arrogant people will trip and fall. Nobody will be there to pick you up. I'm going to set fire to your towns and burn up everything around you.
Mutunfacl filang suwos fah tukulkul ac ikori, ac wangin mwet ac kasru in tulokinkowosyak. Nga ac fah esukak siti suwos in firiryak, ac ma nukewa we ac fah musalla.”
33 This is what the Lord Almighty says: The people of Israel and Judah are being mistreated. All who captured them are holding onto them, refusing to let them go.
LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk, “Elos nukewa su akkeokye mwet Israel ac mwet Judah elos liksreni taranulos ac tia fuhlelosla in som.
34 But the one who rescues them is powerful; the Lord Almighty is his name. He will defend them and their cause, so he may bring peace on earth, but trouble to the people of Babylon.
Tusruktu El su ac molelosla El arulana ku — Inel pa LEUM GOD Kulana. El ac tuyak kaclos in loangelos. El fah ase misla nu faclu, a mwe ongoiya nu sin mwet Babylonia.”
35 A sword is raised to attack the Babylonians, declares the Lord, ready to attack those who live in Babylon, and her officials and wise men.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet Babylonia in misa! Mwet nukewa we in misa — Mwet leum lalos oayapa mwet lalmwetmet lalos.
36 A sword is raised to attack her false prophets, and they will become fools. A sword is raised to attack her soldiers, and they will be terrified.

37 A sword is raised to attack her horses and chariots, along with all the foreign soldiers with her, and they will become like frightened women. A sword is raised to attack her stores of treasure, and they will be plundered.
Kunausla horse ac chariot nutin mwet we! Mwet ke mutunfacl saya ma kasrelos in mweun, in wi pac misa — Elos munas oana mutan! Kunausla ac wapi Ma saok lalos.
38 A drought has hit her rivers, and they will dry up. For it's a country full of pagan images. These horrible idols drive their worshipers mad.

39 Consequently desert animals and hyenas will live there, and it will be a home for owls. It will be uninhabited forever—it won't be lived in from one generation to the next.
“Ke ma inge Babylon ac fah acn in muta lun kosro lemnak ma muta yen mwesis, oayapa won ma tia nasnas. Ac fah wangin mwet sifil muta we nwe tok.
40 In the same way that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, declares the Lord, no one will live there, no one will stay there.

41 Look! An army is advancing from the north. A great nation and many kings are coming against you from the distant lands.
“Oasr mwet ac fah tuku liki sie facl epang, Sie mutunfacl kulana yen loessula; Tokosra puspis akola in mweun.
42 They're carrying bows and javelins. They are cruel and merciless. When they shout it's like the sea roaring. They ride on horses and attack in formation against you, people of Babylon.
Elos srukak tari mwe pisr ac cutlass natulos; Elos mwet na sulallal ac wangin pakomuta lalos. Ke elos kasrusr tuku fin horse natulos, Pusren nien horse uh oana ngirngir lun meoa uh. Elos akola in mweuni Babylonia.
43 The king of Babylon has heard the news and he's terrified. He's overcome with fear, in pain like a woman in labor.
Tokosra Babylonia el lohng ke pweng uh Na paol munasla ac el kofla mokle. El fosrngalana ac pulakin ngal, Oana sie mutan akola in isus.
44 Watch out! I'm going to come like a lion from the tangled undergrowth beside the Jordan to attack the animals grazing the green pasture. In fact I'm going to chase the Babylonians from their land very quickly. Who will I choose to conquer them? Who is like me? Who can challenge me? Which leader could oppose me?
“Oana ke soko lion ac sasma liki insak matol sisken Infahl Jordan yak nu ke inima folfol insroa, nga fah tuku ac oru mwet Babylonia in sa kaing liki facl selos. Na mwet kol se nga sulela uh ac fah leumi facl sac. Su ku in lumweyuk nu sik? Su pulaik in kisrungyu? Ma ya mwet leum se ac lainyu?
45 So listen to what the Lord has planned to do to Babylon and the country of Babylonia: Their children will be dragged away like lambs from the flock, and because of them their pasture will become a wasteland.
Ke ma inge, porongo ma nga lumahla in oru lain siti Babylon, ac ma nga akoo in oru nu sin mwet we. Finne tulik natulos ac fah amala, ac mwet nukewa ac fah arulana tuninfongla.
