< Jeremiah 50 >
1 This is the Lord's message that he told Jeremiah the prophet to give about Babylon and the country of Babylonia.
Chaldea gam Babylon thudol, Pakaiyin Jeremiah themgao henga hiti hin thu aseiyin ahi.
2 Tell everyone the news! Hold up a sign and shout it out, don't hold back! Tell them, Babylon has fallen! Her god Bel is humiliated; the power of her god Marduk is broken; all Babylon's idols are humiliated and their power is broken.
“Namtin chunga phongjal un seichoi jun, ponlap khaisang un chule akisel guh beijin samphong un; ajeh chu Babylon chu akijousoh hel in, Bel in jumna atoh in chule Marduk alung lhada lheh jeng tai. Khopi sung milim semthu ho abonchan akithe cheh gamtan, pathen lim semthu jouse jong pannabei asohgam tai,” tin seiyun.
3 A northern nation will come and attack her and turn the country into a wasteland. No one will live there—both people and animals will desert it.
“Ijeh-inem itileh khopi toh kidou din sahlam gamkaiya pat nam mite khat ahung tauvin, hiche nam mite chun agam sung pumpi asuh manghel diu; avel’a koima kilah kit talou ding ahi. Chule mihem ahin, gamsa jeng jong anitah a jam mang ding ahi.”
4 That's the time when the people of Israel and Judah will join together, weeping as they go to worship the Lord their God, declares the Lord.
Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, “Hiche nikho leh phatlai hin Israel chate ahin, Judah chate in lam jon’a hung kile diu ahi. Kap pum pum’a hung diu, Pakai Pathen ahin hol diu ahi.”
5 They will ask the way to Zion, and start going in that direction. They will arrive and commit themselves to the Lord in an everlasting agreement that won't ever be forgotten.
Chuteng amahon Zion jotna lampi mi ahin doh diu, hiche lam chu ahin ngaidiu, “Hung un a-itih a isuhmil lou diu le atonsot’a kinepna chu Pakai henga eima cheh’in kitepna sem u-hite,” tia asei diu ahi.
6 My people are sheep that are lost, led astray by their shepherds, making them wander aimlessly in the mountains. They go from place to place in the mountains and hills, forgetting where they used to rest.
“Chule keima mite chu kelngoi vah-mangsa ahiuve, kelngoi chin’a ching hochun amaho ana puimang gam tauvin ahi. Molchung holah’a ana hoidoh un, molchunga pat’in thinglhang lam jon in acheu vin, hiti chun abitnau asumil gam-tauve.”
7 All those who came across them attacked them. Their enemies declared, “We're not to blame! They're the ones who sinned against the Lord, their true resting place; the Lord who was the hope of their forefathers.”
Chuin amaho toh-kha chan chun asugep hel ji tauvin, amaho douva pang hon jong aseiyun, “Eiho themmona aum poi, ijeh-inem itileh a-Pakaiyu, achennau dihtah Pakai, apu apateu khanga pat akinep nau dounan chonset abol’un ahi,” atiuve.
8 Run away from the city of Babylon; get away from the country of Babylonia! Lead the way like the male goats that lead the flock.
“Hijeh chun Babylon khopi sunga kon’in jamdoh tauvin, chule Chaldea mite henga kon’in chedoh tauvin; kelngoi hon lah’a kelchal ho tobang'in um uvin.
9 Look! I'm assembling a coalition of strong northern nations who will come and attack Babylon. They will line up in battle against her; she will be conquered from the north. Their arrows will be like the best warriors—they don't miss!
Ajeh chu keiman Babylon dounan sahlam gamkaiya pat’in nam gim neitah khat kahin sol luttai, amaho hiche khopi douna dinga chu hung kigong diu, chuteng akhopi alah diu ahi. Athal chang’u jong khutgoh keuva kile lou gal-hang tah jeng ahiuve.
10 Babylonia will be plundered—everyone who plunders her will have plenty of loot, declares the Lord.
Pakaiyin, “Chaldea mite jong abonchauva kiman soh keiya, chuteng amaho mangam’a pangho haodoh soh kei diu ahi,” tin aseiye.
11 Though for now you Babylonians celebrate and sing triumphantly as you plunder my special people, though for now you jump around like a frisky young cow treading out the grain, and neigh like stallions,
“Chule nangho nakipa diu naki choisang diu ahi. Hinlah kagoulo ho mangam’a pang holeh hamhing lah’a chom lele ho; sakol til-lah lou tobang'in peng peng jong leu chun,
12 you are going to bring shame on your mother, you are going to disgrace the one who gave birth to you. Watch as she becomes the least important of all the nations, a wilderness, a dry desert land.
na chunnu uchun gimnei tah’a jumna ato ding, nahing nu uchu vetdana chang tei ding ahitai. Ven, hiche nu hi nam jouse lah’a anu-khah pen’a pang ding; gamthip lah’a neldi gam tobangbep hiding ahi.
13 Because of Lord's angry punishment, she will be deserted, completely desolate. Everyone who passes by will be horrified at what has happened to Babylon, and sneer at all her wounds.
Ajeh chu Pakai lunghanna jeh’a hiche mun chu chenna soh talou ding, imacha umlou akeo hiding; Babylon jon jouse dinga kichat tijatna hita ding, akhopi sung kisuhsetna jouse kidah soh ding ahi.
14 All you archers, line up ready for battle around Babylon. Shoot at her! Don't save your arrows, because she has sinned against the Lord.
Hijeh chun Babylon khopi sat dinga kigo jouse, thalpi kamsa kichoi jouse kivon cheh un chule umkimvel tauvin; ijeh-inem itileh hiche khopi hi Pakai doumah bol’in achonse lheh jeng tai.
15 Shout war-cries against her from every side! She holds up her hands in surrender. Her towers have collapsed; her walls are demolished. This is the Lord paying her back, so you too can pay her back—do the same to her as she did to others.
Khopi kimvel’a lhangsam cheh’un, khopi ama chamtah in alhu pan tan; pal kikai jouse jong achimsoh in, pal jouse akisuchim soh heltan ahi. Ajeh chu hitobang thilsoh hi Pakai phulah ahin, hiche khopi chunga hi phu-alah ahitai. Khopi ana chonna banga achunga abol tauvin ahi.
16 Stop the sower from sowing in the country of Babylon, and stop the harvester swinging the sickle to reap the grain. Under the threat of the enemies' swords, everyone runs home to their own people, they go back to where they came from.
Chule Babylon khopia muchi tua pangpa chu that uvin, chang-at laiya koite kichoipa jong that uvin, mi sugentheija pang chemjam hem choipa jal chun, mijouse amite lam’a chekit ding ahi; chule min ama ama gamsung cheh adel’a jam lut cheh ding ahi.
17 The Israelites are a flock that's been chased and scattered by lions. The first on the attack was the king of Assyria; then lastly Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon crushed their bones.
Ijeh-inem itileh “Israel chu kelngoi kidel jam banga, keipi bahkai ten adel mangsa ahibouve. Amasa chun Assyria lengpan ana man tauvin, chule tunvang Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar in agu achang geiyin asuhchip peh tan ahi.”
18 So this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I'm going to punish the king of Babylon and his country just like I punished the king of Assyria.
Hatchungnung Pakai, Israel Pathen in, “Ven, Keiman Assyria lengpa chunga gimna kapeh bang in, Babylon lengpa chunga jong gimna kalhunsah in ahi,” ati.
19 I will lead the Israelites back to their pasturelands, to feed on Carmel and Bashan, to satisfy their appetites on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.
“Chule keiman Israel chu ama in leh gamsunga kahin lepui ding, Carmel le Bashan a kivah vadiu; chuteng Ephraim le Gilead thinglhang gam sunga avel’a kivahva diu ahi.
20 This will be when the guilt and the sins of Israel and Judah will be looked for, but none will be found, because I will forgive those people who remain that I'm looking after, declares the Lord.
Hiche nikho tengleh chun, Israel sunga themmona kikhol ding, ahivanga kikholdoh deh deh lou ding; chule Judah sunga jong chonsetna kikhol ding, ahivanga khatcha kikhol doh louhel ding ahi. Ajeh chu keiman amoh chengse avaldoh ho chunga ngaidamna kanei ahitai.
21 Go and attack the land of Merathaim, and the people living in Pekod. Kill them with swords, set them apart for destruction, along with everything they leave behind. Make sure you do everything I have ordered you to do, declares the Lord.
“Kagal hang ho, Merathaim le Pekod dounan agam sunga chetou tauvin; abonchauvin that gam uvin chule sumang hel uvin, tin Pakaiyin aseiyin hiche hi keima thupeh ahi.
22 The noise of battle is heard in the country, the noise of terrible destruction.
Gamsung pumpia gal kisat ogin akijan, manthahna ogin gimneitah chu akithong lha jeng tai!
23 See how the hammer of the whole earth is lying broken in pieces in the ground! The nations look with horror on what Babylon has become!
I-atileh leiset pumpi khetbuh’a pang Babylon kisat lhua kichil thang jeng hitam! Itidan’a Babylon hi nam jouse lah’a kidah chang jeng hitam!
24 Babylon, I set a trap for you, and you were caught before you realized it. You were hunted down and captured because you fought against the Lord.
O Babylon, thang kakampeh achun na oh-tai; hinlah naki hetdoh hih laiye, nangma holdoh in naum in nakiman chah kheh tai; ajeh chu Pakai dounan nachonval tai.
25 In his anger the Lord opened his armory to bring out his weapons, for this is what the Lord God Almighty is doing in the country of Babylonia.
Chuin Pakaiyin agal manchah koina ahong doh in, alunghanna machah jouse ahin podoh tai; ijeh-inem itileh Pakai hatchungnung Pathen in Chaldea mite gam sunga natoh ding khat aneiye.
26 Come and attack her from every side! Open her granaries; collect the loot you take from her like piles of grain. Set her apart for destruction; don't leave any survivors.
Henge, gam kimvel’a kon in hiche gam toh kidou din hung kon tauvin; achangsal jouse hong un, chang kisi vum tobang'in sivum unlang manthah sah jeng uvin, ama thi le lo ima kheng hih hel un.
27 Kill all her young bulls with the sword; let them be slaughtered. What a disaster for them, because their time has come when they're punished.
Abongchal jouse sat lih un, abonchan athina diumun jotsah cheh un; ada tangei-yuve, ijeh-inem itileh ahinkhou achaina ahung lhunge. Gimna atodiu phat chu hunglhung ahitai.
28 (Listen to the refugees and survivors who have returned from Babylonia, announcing in Zion, “The Lord our God is paying them back for what happened to his Temple.”)
Miho ogin khu ngaiyin, Babylon gamsunga kon in Zion Pakai, i-Pathen uvin phu alah nakhu, ahouin dinga phu alahna phondohnan ajam cheh tauvin; atol manghel tauve.
29 Call up the archers to attack Babylon, yes, all of them! Completely surround her—don't let anyone escape. Pay her back for what she's done, because in her pride she defied the Lord, Israel's Holy One.
Thalpi kamsaa kichoi holeh thal them ho abonchauvin Babylon toh kisat din koudoh tan. Hiche khopi kimvel’a khun ngahmun semsoh keiyun, mihem kiti khat jengcha jong naso chat sah louhel diu ahi. Khopi’n na atoh dungjuiya lethuhna nachan sah diu, anatoh athilbol banga amachunga jong nabol diu ahi; ajeh chu Pakai, Israel Mithengpa chu kisatpi ding in anachoudoh tai.
30 As a result her young men will be killed in the streets; all her soldiers will die that day, declares the Lord.
Hijeh chun Pakaiyin aseiyin, “Akhopi sunga gollhang ho kijam chap diu, chule hiche nikho mama’a hi akhopi sunga sepai jouse jong kisumang hel ding ahi.
31 Watch out, because I'm against you, you arrogant people! declares the Lord God Almighty. Your time has come when I will punish you.
“Vetan, nangma kieltsahna dim keima toh kidou nahi, tin Pakai hatchungnung Pathen in aseiye; ijeh-inem itileh nangma nikho ahung lhung tai—hiche nikhoa hi keiman gimna kapeh ding nahi.
32 You arrogant people will trip and fall. Nobody will be there to pick you up. I'm going to set fire to your towns and burn up everything around you.
O gamsung kiletsahna dim, nangma nakipal lhuh a, naki balhuh tei ding, koima naphongdoh ding um tapon te. Keiman khopi pumpia mei kakousah ding, chuteng akimvel’a umjouse meikong in aliu-gamkei ding ahi.
33 This is what the Lord Almighty says: The people of Israel and Judah are being mistreated. All who captured them are holding onto them, refusing to let them go.
Hatchungnung Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, “Israel mite leh Judah mite chunga gim le hesoh in akiumsah in, amaho soh chansah hon lahdoh ding gel phalou vin, naatuh chah jing uvin ahi.
34 But the one who rescues them is powerful; the Lord Almighty is his name. He will defend them and their cause, so he may bring peace on earth, but trouble to the people of Babylon.
Hinlah amaho lhatdampu chu athahat in, hatchungnung Pakai kiti hi ama min ahi. Amachun amaho khotona thudol ahinsei ding, chule Israel akichol damsah kit ding; amavang Babylon mite choldona apeh lou ding ahi.
35 A sword is raised to attack the Babylonians, declares the Lord, ready to attack those who live in Babylon, and her officials and wise men.
Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiyin, “Chaldea mite, Babylon khopi sunga chengte, aleng chapate chule ami-chingte chunga gimna chemjam achuhsah tai.
36 A sword is raised to attack her false prophets, and they will become fools. A sword is raised to attack her soldiers, and they will be terrified.
Ami-chingte, angolna diuvin achung'uva chemjam ahung chutan, akisuh manghel nadiuvin; akhopi sunga gal hang ho chunga chemjam achutan ahi!
37 A sword is raised to attack her horses and chariots, along with all the foreign soldiers with her, and they will become like frightened women. A sword is raised to attack her stores of treasure, and they will be plundered.
Akhopi sunga sakol ho, akang-talai ho, chule akhopi dunga gamdang sepai hon jong numei lungput aputna diuvin, achung uvah chemjam achutai! Akisuh manghelna diuvin, khopi sunga thil khol khomna jouse chunga jong chemjam achutan ahi.
38 A drought has hit her rivers, and they will dry up. For it's a country full of pagan images. These horrible idols drive their worshipers mad.
Akhopi sunga twi jouse akan-helna din go aju tapon, ajeh chu agam hi milim semthu gam jeng ahin, amaho jeng jong pathen lim semthua ngol ahitauve.
39 Consequently desert animals and hyenas will live there, and it will be a home for owls. It will be uninhabited forever—it won't be lived in from one generation to the next.
Hijeh’a chu Babylon khopi sunga hi chomlou kah’a gamsa holeh kamkei ho hung cheng lut diu, chule akhosung chu simbu ho chenna hung hi ding; akhopi sunga chu mihem kiti cheng kit talou ding, hichu akhang akhanga chenna hita lou ding ahi.
40 In the same way that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, declares the Lord, no one will live there, no one will stay there.
Sodom le Gomorrah banga akhopi sung leh akimvel’a khopi jouse kasuh manghel ding, hiche mun’a chu mihem koimacha hung cheng kit talou ding chule mihem koimacha akhosunga hung kholjin kitta louhel ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
41 Look! An army is advancing from the north. A great nation and many kings are coming against you from the distant lands.
Vetan! Sahlam gamkaiya kon’in sepai hattah ahung kon tai. Nam hattah le leng tampi, gamlha tah’a kon’in ahung tauve.
42 They're carrying bows and javelins. They are cruel and merciless. When they shout it's like the sea roaring. They ride on horses and attack in formation against you, people of Babylon.
Abonchauva thalpi le tengcha toh hungkon ahiuvin, gilou tah le hepina beihel jeng ahiuve. Agol gin dan’u jong twikhanglen gintoh akilou vin, abonchauva sakol chunga tou jeng ahiuve; Nangma Babylon dou dinga galvon lhingsel’a kivon soh ahitauve.
43 The king of Babylon has heard the news and he's terrified. He's overcome with fear, in pain like a woman in labor.
Hiti chun, “Babylon lengpan jong athu kithan dol-u ajasoh tai! Akhut teni angoi lha jeng in, numei naoso natpat tobang'in gim hesohna chun ahin phatai.
44 Watch out! I'm going to come like a lion from the tangled undergrowth beside the Jordan to attack the animals grazing the green pasture. In fact I'm going to chase the Babylonians from their land very quickly. Who will I choose to conquer them? Who is like me? Who can challenge me? Which leader could oppose me?
Vetan! Keima Jordan gammang lah’a kon kelngoi hong umna nokhum dinga hung kon keipi bahkai banga, abonchauva akhopi sunga kon hetman louhel’a a kadel mang jeng ding, chujou tengleh keiman kadeisah dungjuiya khopi vaihom kakoi ding ahi. Ijeh-inem itileh keitobang koi um'em chule koiham keima eiki dinte pi ding? Koi vaihom thunei hijongleh kamasanga pang jou ding chu koi ham?
45 So listen to what the Lord has planned to do to Babylon and the country of Babylonia: Their children will be dragged away like lambs from the flock, and because of them their pasture will become a wasteland.
Hijeh chun Pakaiyin Babylon dounaa athil-gon hi phaten ngai phauvin, kelngoi hon lah’a aneopen geiya kaimanga um ding; achennau in jouse jong kisumang hel ding ahi.
46 The sound of Babylon's capture will make the earth shake; their cries will be heard throughout the nations.
Babylon kimat gin husan chu leiset pumpi o-thong jejua kithing liu ding, chule akagin chu vannoi leiset pumpia kithong lha ding ahi,” ati.
