Jeremiah 47

1 This is the message from the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet about the Philistines before Pharaoh attacked Gaza.

பார்வோன், காசாவைத் தாக்குவதற்கு முன் பெலிஸ்தியரைக் குறித்து, இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவுக்கு வந்த யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை இதுவே:

2 This is what the Lord says: Look at the waters rising from the north! They will become an overflowing river that sweeps across the country and everything in it, flooding the towns and everyone's homes. The people will cry out for help; everyone who lives in the country will weep,

யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: “பாருங்கள், வடக்கிலே வெள்ளம் எவ்வளவாய் பொங்கி எழுகிறது. அது கரைபுரண்டோடும் வெள்ளமாகும். அது நாட்டின்மேலும், அதிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றின்மேலும் புரண்டோடும். பட்டணங்கள்மேலும், அதில் வாழும் யாவர்மேலும் புரண்டோடும். மக்கள் அலறி அழுவார்கள். நாட்டில் குடியிருப்போர் எல்லோரும் புலம்புவார்கள்.

3 as they hear the sound of stallions charging, the rattling of chariots and the rumble of their wheels. Fathers won't go back to help their sons—they have no strength because they're terrified.

பாய்ந்தோடும் குதிரைகளின் குளம்புகளின் ஒலியையும், பகைவர்களின் தேர்களின் சத்தத்தையும், தேர்ச்சக்கரங்களின் இரைச்சலையும் கேட்டு ஓலமிடுவார்கள். தந்தையர் தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு உதவிசெய்யும்படி திரும்பமாட்டார்கள். அவர்களுடைய கைகள் சோர்ந்துபோகும்.

4 The day has arrived when all the Philistines will be destroyed, when Tyre and Sidon will have no more allies to help them. The Lord is going to destroy the Philistines, those who are left from the island of Crete.

ஏனெனில் பெலிஸ்தியர் அனைவரையும் அழிக்கும் நாள் வந்திருக்கிறது. தீருவுக்கும் சீதோனுக்கும் உதவிசெய்யக்கூடிய, இன்னும் தப்பியிருப்பவர்களை அழிப்பதற்கான நாள் வந்திருக்கிறது. கப்தோரின் கரையோரத்தில் மீதியாயிருக்கும் பெலிஸ்தியரை யெகோவா அழிக்கப்போகிறார்.

5 The people of Gaza will shave their heads; the town of Ashkelon lies in ruins. You who are left on the coastal plain, how long will you go on cutting yourself?

காசா துக்கங்கொண்டாடுதலுக்காக தன் தலையை மொட்டையடிக்கும். அஸ்கலோன் மவுனமாய் இருக்கும். சமவெளியில் மீதியாயிருப்பவர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு உங்களை நீங்களே வெட்டிக்கொள்வீர்கள்?

6 Oh sword of the Lord, when are you going to stop killing? Go back in your sheath. Stop killing and stay there!

“‘ஐயோ! யெகோவாவின் வாளே! நீ ஓய்வதற்கு எவ்வளவு காலம் செல்லும்? உறைக்குத் திரும்பி அங்கு ஓய்ந்திரு என்று நீங்கள் கதறுகிறீர்களே!’

7 But how can the sword stop killing when the Lord has given it orders to attack Ashkelon and its coastlands?

ஆனால் அஸ்கலோனையும், கரையோரப் பகுதிகளையும் தாக்கும்படி, யெகோவா கட்டளையிட்டு உத்தரவு கொடுத்திருக்க அது எப்படி ஓய்ந்திருக்கும்?”
