Jeremiah 36
1 This message from the Lord came to Jeremiah in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:
௧யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் அரசாட்சியின் நாலாம் வருடத்தில் யெகோவாவால் எரேமியாவுக்கு உண்டான வார்த்தை என்னவென்றால்:
2 Get a scroll and write down everything I've told you condemning Israel, Judah, and all the other nations, from the time I first spoke to you during the reign of Josiah right up till now.
௨நீ ஒரு புத்தகச்சுருளை எடுத்து, யோசியாவின் நாட்களில் நான் உன்னுடனே பேசின நாள் முதற்கொண்டு இந்நாள்வரை இஸ்ரவேலைக்குறித்தும், யூதாவைக்குறித்தும், எல்லா மக்களைக்குறித்தும் உன்னுடன் சொன்ன எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் அதில் எழுது.
3 Maybe when the people of Judah hear about all the disasters I plan to bring down on them, everyone will stop their evil ways. Then I will forgive their guilt and sin.
௩யூதாவின் மக்கள், அவரவர் தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்புவதற்காகவும், தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்தையும் தங்கள் பாவத்தையும் நான் மன்னிப்பதற்காகவும், தங்களுக்கு நான் செய்ய நினைத்திருக்கிற தீங்குகளைக்குறித்து ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் கேட்பார்கள் என்றார்.
4 So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah to come, and while Jeremiah dictated, Baruch wrote down on a scroll everything that the Lord had told Jeremiah.
௪அப்பொழுது எரேமியா நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கை அழைத்தான்; பாருக்கு என்பவன் யெகோவா எரேமியாவுடனே சொல்லிவந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் அவன் வாய் சொல்ல ஒரு புத்தகச்சுருளில் எழுதினான்.
5 Then Jeremiah gave Baruch these instructions: “I'm a prisoner here so I can't go into the Lord's Temple.
௫பின்பு எரேமியா பாருக்கை நோக்கி: நான் அடைக்கப்பட்டவன்; நான் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குள் நுழையக்கூடாது.
6 So you have to go to the Lord's Temple on a day when people are fasting, and read to them the Lord's messages from the scroll I dictated to you. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.
௬நீ உள்ளே நுழைந்து, என் வாய் சொல்ல நீ எழுதின சுருளிலுள்ள யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தில் உபவாச நாளில் மக்களுடைய காதுகள் கேட்க வாசிப்பதுமின்றி, தங்கள் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்துவருகிற எல்லா யூதா கோத்திரத்தாரும் கேட்குமளவுக்கு அவைகளை வாசிப்பாயாக.
7 Maybe they will come and ask the Lord for forgiveness, and all of them will stop their evil ways, for the Lord is threatening terrible anger against them.”
௭ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய முகத்திற்கு முன்பாகப் பணிந்து விண்ணப்பம்செய்து, அவரவர் தங்கள் பொல்லாத வழியை விட்டுத் திரும்புவார்கள்; யெகோவா இந்த மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிற கோபமும் உக்கிரமும் பெரியது என்று சொன்னான்.
8 Baruch son of Neriah did exactly what Jeremiah the prophet had told him to do. He went and read the Lord's message from the scroll in the Temple.
௮அப்படியே நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு அந்தப் புத்தகத்தில், யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தில் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தைகளை வாசிப்பதற்கு எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசி தனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான்.
9 This is how it happened. A fast to honor the Lord was declared involving all the people of Jerusalem and everyone who had come there from the towns of Judah. This was in the ninth month of the fifth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah.
௯யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் அரசாட்சியின் ஐந்தாம் வருடத்து ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில், எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்கு வருகிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உபவாசம் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று சொல்லப்பட்டது.
10 Baruch read from the scroll what Jeremiah had dictated so that everyone could hear. He read it from the room of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe. This was in the upper Temple courtyard at the New Gate entrance.
௧0அப்பொழுது பாருக்கு யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் மேல்முற்றத்தில், யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்து வாசலின் நடைக்கு அருகிலுள்ள சாப்பானுடைய மகனாகிய கெமரியா என்னும் காரியதரிசியின் அறையில், அந்தப் புத்தகத்திலுள்ள எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகளை மக்கள் எல்லோரும் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.
11 When Micaiah son of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, heard all the Lord's messages read from the scroll,
௧௧சாப்பானுடைய மகனாகிய கெமரியாவின் மகன் மிகாயா அந்தப் புத்தகத்திலுள்ள யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் வாசிக்கக் கேட்டபோது,
12 he went down to the royal secretary's room in the king's palace, where all the officials had gathered. Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials were there.
௧௨அவன் ராஜாவின் அரண்மனைக்குப்போய், காரியதரிசியின் அறையில் நுழைந்தான்; இதோ, அங்கே எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவும் செமாயாவின் மகனாகிய தெலாயாவும், அக்போரின் மகனாகிய எல்நாத்தானும், சாப்பானின் மகனாகிய கெமரியாவும், அனனியாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவும், மற்ற எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
13 Micaiah gave them a report of everything he'd heard Baruch read from the scroll to the people.
௧௩பாருக்கு மக்கள் கேட்கும் அளவுக்கு புத்தகத்திலுள்ளவைகளை வாசிக்கும்போது, தான் கேட்ட எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் மிகாயா அவர்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தான்.
14 The officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, to summon Baruch, telling him, “Bring the scroll that you read to the people, and come here.” So Baruch went to see them taking the scroll with him.
௧௪அப்பொழுது எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் கூஷியின் மகனாகிய செலேமியாவின் மகனான நெத்தானியாவினுடைய மகனாயிருக்கிற யெகுதியைப் பாருக்கிடத்தில் அனுப்பி, மக்கள் கேட்க நீ வாசித்துக்கொண்டிந்த சுருளை உன் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னார்கள்; ஆகையால், நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு சுருளைத் தன் கையில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களிடத்திற்கு வந்தான்.
15 “Please sit down and read it to us,” they said. So Baruch read it to them.
௧௫அவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டு, நாங்கள் கேட்க வாசியென்றார்கள்; அவர்கள் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.
16 After they'd heard everything, they were frightened and looked at each other. They said to Baruch, “We've got to tell the king about all this.”
௧௬அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் கேட்கும்போது பயப்பட்டவர்களாக ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து, பாருக்கை நோக்கி: இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் ராஜாவுக்கு கண்டிப்பாக அறிவிப்போம் என்றார்கள்.
17 Then they asked Baruch, “Now tell us, how did you come to write all this? Did Jeremiah dictate it to you?”
௧௭அவன் வாய் சொல்ல, நீ இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் எவ்விதமாக எழுதினாய் அதை எங்களுக்குச் சொல் என்று பாருக்கைக் கேட்டார்கள்.
18 “Yes, he dictated it,” Baruch replied. “I wrote down in ink on the scroll everything he told me.”
௧௮அதற்குப் பாருக்கு: அவர் தமது வாயினால் இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் உச்சரித்து, என்னுடனே சொன்னார், நான் மையினால் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதினேன் என்றான்.
19 The officials told Baruch, “You and Jeremiah are going to have to hide. Don't tell anyone where you are.”
௧௯அப்பொழுது பிரபுக்கள் பாருக்கை நோக்கி: நீயும் எரேமியாவும் போய் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இருக்கும் இடம் ஒருவருக்கும் தெரியக்கூடாது என்று சொல்லி,
20 Then the officials went to see the king in the courtyard. They had kept the scroll safe in Elishama the secretary's room while they gave a full report to the king.
௨0சுருளை காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவின் அறையில் வைத்து, ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கு அரண்மனையில் போய், ராஜாவின் காதுகளுக்கு இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் சொன்னார்கள்.
21 The king sent Jehudi to fetch the scroll. He went and got it from Elishama the secretary's room. Then Jehudi read it to the king and all the officials who were there standing next to him.
௨௧அப்பொழுது ராஜா அந்தச் சுருளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவர யெகுதியை அனுப்பினான்; யெகுதி அதைக் காரியதரிசியாகிய எலிஷாமாவின் அறையிலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, ராஜா கேட்கவும், ராஜாவினிடத்தில் நின்ற எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் கேட்கவும் வாசித்தான்.
22 It was the ninth month and the king was sitting in front of a fire in his winter quarters.
௨௨ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில் ராஜா, குளிர்காலத்திற்குத் தங்கும் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாக அடுப்பு மூட்டியிருந்தது.
23 Whenever Jehudi finished reading three or four columns, Jehoiakim would chop them off with a scribe's knife and toss them into the fire. Eventually the whole scroll was completely burned up.
௨௩யெகுதி மூன்று நான்கு பத்திகளை வாசித்த பின்பு, ராஜா ஒரு சூரிக்கத்தியினால் அதை அறுத்து, சுருள் எல்லாவற்றையும் நெருப்பில் வெந்துபோக, அடுப்பிலிருந்த நெருப்பில் எறிந்துவிட்டான்.
24 Despite hearing all these messages, the king and his attendants weren't frightened and didn't tear their clothes in remorse.
௨௪ராஜாவாயினும், அந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்ட அவனுடைய எந்த ஊழியக்காரனும் பயப்படவுமில்லை, தங்கள் உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொள்ளவுமில்லை.
25 Even when Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah pleaded with the king not to burn the scroll, he refused to listen to them.
௨௫எல்நாத்தானும், தெலாயாவும், கெமரியாவுமோ: அந்தச் சுருளைச் சுட்டெரிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று ராஜாவினிடத்தில் விண்ணப்பம் செய்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும், அவன் அவர்களுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல்,
26 In fact the king ordered Jerahmeel, one of the princes, as well as Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to go and arrest Baruch and Jeremiah. But the Lord hid them.
௨௬பாருக்கு என்னும் காரியதரிசியையும் எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியையும் பிடிப்பதற்கு, ராஜா அம்மெலேகின் மகனாகிய யெரமெயேலுக்கும், அஸ்ரியேலின் மகனாகிய செராயாவுக்கும், அப்தெயேலின் மகனாகிய செலேமியாவுக்கும் கட்டளை கொடுத்தான்; ஆனாலும் யெகோவா அவர்களை மறைத்தார்.
27 After the king burned the scroll Jeremiah had dictated to Baruch, a message from the Lord came to Jeremiah:
௨௭ராஜா அந்தச் சுருளையும், அதில் எரேமியாவின் வாய் சொல்ல பாருக்கு எழுதியிருந்த வார்த்தைகளையும் சுட்டெரித்தபின்பு, எரேமியாவுக்குக் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை உண்டாகி, அவர்:
28 Get another scroll and write everything out that was on the first scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah burned.
௨௮நீ திரும்ப வேறொரு சுருளை எடுத்து, யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீம் சுட்டெரித்த முதலாம் சுருளிலிருந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அதில் எழுது என்றார்.
29 Regarding Jehoiakim king of Judah announce that this is what the Lord says: You have burned the scroll and asked, “Why did you write that the king of Babylon is going to come and destroy this country and kill all its people and animals?”
௨௯மேலும் நீ யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீமை நோக்கி: பாபிலோன் ராஜா கண்டிப்பாக வருவான் என்பதையும், அவன் இந்த தேசத்தை அழித்து இதிலிருந்து மனிதரையும் மிருகங்களையும் அழிப்பான் என்பதையும், நீ அதில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதென்று சொல்லி, அந்தச் சுருளை நீ சுட்டெரித்தாயே என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
30 So this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He won't have anyone to succeed him as king, sitting on David's throne. His body will be thrown out to lie in the heat of the day and the cold of the night.
௩0ஆகையால் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீமைக் குறித்து: தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் உட்காருவதற்கு வம்சத்தில் ஒருவனும் இருக்கமாட்டான்; அவனுடைய சடலங்களோவென்றால், பகலின் வெப்பத்திற்கும் இரவின் குளிருக்கும் எறியப்பட்டுக்கிடக்கும்.
31 I'm going to punish him and his descendants and officials for their sins. I will bring down on them and on the people living in Jerusalem and Judah, all the disasters I warned them about but they refused to listen.
௩௧நான் அவனிடத்திலும், அவன் சந்ததியினிடத்திலும், அவன் பிரபுக்களினிடத்திலும் அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை விசாரித்து, அவன்மேலும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள்மேலும், யூதா மனிதர்மேலும், நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னதும், அவர்கள் கேளாமற்போனதுமான தீங்குகளையெல்லாம் வரச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
32 Jeremiah got another scroll and gave it to Baruch. Jeremiah dictated everything that was in the scroll that Jehoiakim had burned in the fire and Barcuh wrote it down. Even more messages of a similar kind were added.
௩௨அப்பொழுது எரேமியா வேறொரு சுருளை எடுத்து, அதை நேரியாவின் மகனாகிய பாருக்கு என்னும் காரியதரிசியினிடத்தில் கொடுத்தான்; அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீம் நெருப்பால் சுட்டெரித்த புத்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம், அதில் எரேமியாவின் வாய் சொல்ல எழுதினான்; இன்னும் அவைகளைப்போல அநேகம் வார்த்தைகளும் அவைகளுடன் சேர்க்கப்பட்டது.
