< Jeremiah 3 >

1 If a man divorces his wife and she goes and marries someone else, could he ever go back to her? Wouldn't the country be made totally unclean by this? But you have done worse by prostituting yourselves with many lovers, and now you want to come back to me? declares the Lord.
Tongpa loh a yuu te a tueih coeng tih a taeng lamloh, “Cet laeh,” a ti nah phoeiah tah hlang tloe hut la om coeng. BOEIPA loh olphong ni he.
2 Look up at the bare hilltops. Is there anywhere that you haven't had sex? You sat at the roadside like someone from the desert waiting for your lovers to pass by. You have made the land unclean with your prostitution and evil.
3 That's why no showers have been sent, and no spring rains have fallen. But you just stare back shamelessly like a prostitute; you refuse to accept you've done anything wrong.
Mueitui khaw uelh vetih tlankhol khaw om tangloeng pawh. Pumyoi nu kah a tal te nang taengla pawk coeng dae hmaithae tah na aal.
4 Didn't you just tell me, “My father, you've been such a close friend to me since I was little.
Tahae ah kang khue pawt tih a? kai taengah, “A pa nang tah ka camoe kah boeihlum ni,” tila nang khue.
5 You won't be angry with me for a long time, will you? You won't go on being like that forever?” This is what you've said, but you keep on sinning as much as you can.
Kumhal duela la lunguen vetih a yoeyah la ka muet uh aya? Ka thui long tah na thui ngawn dae boethae ni na saii thai he.
6 During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord told me, Have you seen what unfaithful Israel has done? She has prostituted herself on every high hill and under every green tree.
Manghai Josiah tue vaengah BOEIPA loh kai taengah he ni a thui. Israel hnuknong loh a saii te na hmuh nim? Tlang sang tom ah cet tih thing hing hmui tom ah hnap cukhalh.
7 I hoped that after she'd done all this she'd come back to me. But she didn't come back, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw what happened.
Te rhoek te boeih a saii hnukah kai taengah ha mael ni ka ti. Tedae ha mael pawt te a tanu Judah hlangrhong loh a hmuh khaw a hmuh coeng.
8 She saw that because of everything unfaithful Israel had done on committing adultery, I sent her away, giving her a certificate of divorce. But her unfaithful sister Judah wasn't afraid and prostituted herself too.
Hnuknong Israel loh a samphaih te a kong a mai boeih ka hmuh. Anih te ka tueih coeng tih yuuhlak cabu te amah taengah ka paek coeng. A tanu Judah hnukpoh te a rhih kolla a paan dongah anih khaw cukhalh bal.
9 Israel didn't care about the immorality, as she made herself and the land unclean, committing adultery by worshiping stones and trees.
Anih kah thurha ol te a om dongah khohmuen te a poeih. Lungto taeng neh thingngo taengah samphaih coeng.
10 Despite all this, her unfaithful sister Judah didn't come back to me in sincerity. She only pretended to do so, declares the Lord.
Te boeih nen khaw a tanu hlangrhong Judah loh a lungbuei boeih neh kai taengla ha mael pawt tih a honghi bueng la om. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
11 The Lord told me, Unfaithful Israel showed that she wasn't as guilty as unfaithful Judah.
BOEIPA loh kai taengah a thui ngawn. Israel hnuknong kah a hinglu he Judah hnukpoh lakah tang ngai.
12 Now go and announce this message to the north: Come back, unfaithful Israel, declares the Lord. I won't be angry with you anymore, because I am merciful, declares the Lord. I won't be angry forever.
Cet lamtah he ol he tlangpuei ah pang puei. Hnuknong Israel te ha mael laeh,’ ti nah. BOEIPA kah olphong ni he.
13 Just admit you did wrong, that you rebelled against the Lord your God. You spread yourself around, committing adultery by worshiping foreign gods under every green tree, refusing to do what I told you, declares the Lord.
He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
14 Come back, unfaithful children, declares the Lord, because I am married to you. I will take you, one from a town and two from a family, and bring you to Zion.
15 I will give you shepherds who are like me who will feed you wisely and with understanding.
Nang aka dawn ham neh aka cangbam ham khaw ka lungbuei kah bangla kam paek vetih nangmih te lungming neh n'luem puei ni.
16 At that time as you increase in number in the country, declares the Lord, no one will be talking about the Ark of the Lord's Agreement anymore. People won't need to think about it or remember it or wonder what happened to it; and certainly won't need to make a new one.
Te khohnin ha pai vaengah tah na ping vetih diklai ah pungtai uh ni. BOEIPA kah olphong ni he. BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng koep thui uh mahpawh. Lungbuei ah ael voel pawt vetih poek uh voel mahpawh. Thoelh uh voel pawt vetih koep saii voel mahpawh.
17 When that time comes Jerusalem will be called the Throne of the Lord, and all the nations will come together in Jerusalem to honor the Lord. They won't be stubborn or wicked anymore.
Te vaeng tue ah Jerusalem te BOEIPA kah ngolkhoel a ti uh ni. A khuikah namtom boeih loh Jerusalem kah BOEIPA ming te a lamtawn uh ni. Amih kah boethae neh lungbuei thinthahnah hnuk te vai uh voel mahpawh.
18 At that time the people of Judah will join with the people of Israel, and they will return from the land of the north to the country I gave to your forefathers to own.
Te khohnin ah Judah imkhui neh Israel imkhui te paan uh thae vetih na pa rhoek ka phaeng khohmuen ah tlangpuei khohmuen lamloh tun ha pawk uh ni.
19 I said to myself, I really want you to be my children, and to give you the best country, the most beautiful place of any nation. I hoped you would call me “Father,” and never give up following me.
Kai loh ca rhoek bangla nang kang khueh vetih namtom caempuei kah a rho kirhang neh khohmuen sahnaih te nang taengah metlam kam paek eh ka ti. Kai he a pa la nang khue rhoe nang khue vetih kai hnuk lamloh na mael rhoe, na mael mahpawh ka ti.
20 But just like a wife might betray her husband, you have betrayed me, people of Israel, declares the Lord.
Tedae huta a hui taengah a hnukpoh bangla Israel imkhui loh kai taengah na hnukpoh tangkhuet. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
21 Voices are crying on bare hilltops—the Israelites weeping and pleading for mercy, because they have gone astray and forgotten the Lord their God.
Israel ca rhoek kah a rhah neh a huithuinah ol te caphoei cuk ah a yaak. Amih kah longpuei paihaeh tih a Pathen BOEIPA te a hnilh uh.
22 Come back, unfaithful children, and I will heal your unfaithfulness. “We're here! Yes, we're coming back to you, because you are the Lord our God.”
Hnukcol koca rhoek mael uh laeh, nangmih kah hnuknong te ka hoeih sak bitni. Kaimih kah Pathen BOEIPA tah nang ham a om dongah kaimih khaw nang taengla ka pawk uh bitni he.
23 There's no doubt that pagan worship from the hills is pure lies; the idolatry that comes from the mountains is just noise. Israel's salvation is in the Lord our God alone.
Tlang neh som lamkah hlangping khaw a honghi ni. Israel kah loeihnah he mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA dongah ni a om dae.
24 All our lives pagan idolatry has destroyed what our fathers worked so hard for: their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.
A pa rhoek a thatloh te yahpohnah loh mamih n'camoe lamkah ni, a boiva neh a saelhung la, a capa rhoek neh a canu rhoek la a caak coeng.
25 We should lie down in shame, and have our disgrace bury us. We have sinned against the Lord our God, us and our fathers. From when we were young right up to now we have not obeyed what the Lord our God told us to do.
Mamih kah yahpohnah dongah yalh uh sih lamtah mamih kah mingthae loh mamih n'khuk mai saeh. Mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taengah mamih khaw, a pa rhoek khaw n'tholh uh coeng. Mamih n'camoe lamkah tihnin duela mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA ol te n'hnatun uh moenih.
