< Jeremiah 28 >

1 This is what happened in the beginning of the reign of King Zedekiah of Judah, in the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year. The prophet Hananiah, son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, told me in the Lord's Temple in front of the priests and all the people:
Judah lengpa Zedekiah lengchan kalkumli lhin kum, alha-nga lhin chun, nikhat Gibeon khomi Azzur chapa Hananiah chun, Pakai Houin ah, thempu holeh mipi angsung’a, keima jahtah in, hitin aseiye.
2 “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
Hatchung nung Pakai, Israel Pathen chun hitin aseiye. Keiman, angonguva nakihennau Babylon lengpa namkol chu kaheboh’a kalah doh ding ahitai.
3 Before two years have passed I'm going to bring back to Jerusalem all the Temple objects that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed and took to Babylon.
Keiman kumni sung’a, Nebuchadnezzar lengpan Babylon gam’a anapoh mang, Houin sung gouthil ho jouse, kahin le pohlut kitding ahi.
4 I will also bring back to Jerusalem Jehoiachin, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, together with all the exiles from Judah who were taken to Babylon, declares the Lord, because I'm going to break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
Chule Babylon gam’a, sohchang’a kikaimang Judah lengpa Jehoiakim chapa Jehoiachin leh midangho jouse jong, keiman kahin le puilut kitding ahi. Keiman Babylon lengpa namkol nangonguva kihen chu kaheboh ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye,’ati.
5 Then the prophet Jeremiah responded to the prophet Hananiah in front of the priests and all the people who were standing in the Lord's Temple.
Hichun Jeremiah themgao pan jong, Thempu holeh mipi ho angsung’a chun, Hananiah chu a donbut in.
6 “Amen!” said Jeremiah. “I wish the Lord would do just that! I wish the Lord would fulfill your prophetic words and bring back Temple objects and all the exiles back to Jerusalem from Babylon.
Hitin aseiye, “Amen, nasei bang chun guilhung hen! Pakaiyin nagaothu seiho chu abonchan, na sei bang bang in boltei hen! Babylon gam’a sohchang a kikaimang ho leh Houin sunga kon’a kipomang goulu ho, abonchan hiche mun hinnung lhut teitei hen!
7 But even so, pay attention to this message I'm going to tell you and everyone here.
Amavang nangma jah dingle mipite jah dinga, tunia keiman hiche thu kasei hi, phaten ngaiyin.
8 The prophets of long ago who came before you and me prophesied war, disaster, and disease against many countries and great kingdoms.
Nang le kei masanga themgao hon, khanglui laiya pat, namtin vaipi douna gaothu anaseiyuvin, gal umding, kel lhah ding, gamna hise chom chom in miho gihna ananeiyuvin ahi.
9 When it comes to a prophet who prophesies peace, see if their prophecies come true. Only that will prove they are really sent by the Lord.”
Chuti ahijeh chun, Themgao khat in chamna leh monna gaothu asei chu, mutheiya ahung guilhun teng le bou, amapa chu Pakaiya kon ahi mong e, iti eihon ihetbep dingu ahi, ati.
10 Then the prophet Hananiah removed the yoke from the prophet Jeremiah's neck and broke it.
Hichun Hananiah themgao pan Jeremiah ngong’a kihen namkol chu, aladoh in aheh bongtai.
11 Hananiah announced in front of everyone, “This is what the Lord says: Just like this, before two years have passed I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.” Jeremiah the prophet left.
Chuin Hannaniah jong chun, mipite jah dingin, avelin thu aseiyin, ‘Pakaiyin hitin aseiye: Keiman namtin vaipi sohchanna angonguva kihen, Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar namkol chu, kumni sunga kalahdoh a, kaheboh ding ahi, ati. Hichun Jeremiah themgao chun Houin adalhan achetai.
12 However, right after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from his neck, a message of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
Hananiah themgaopa toh akidinte jou chun, Pakaiyin Jeremiah henga thu ahinsei kittai.
13 “Go and tell Hananiah that this is what the Lord says: You may have broken a wooden yoke of wood, but you have replaced it with an iron yoke.
Chenlang Hananiah chu gaseipehtan, “Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, nangman thing nam-kol in nakheltai.
14 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I have tied iron yokes on the necks of all these nations to force them to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have even given him control over the wild animals.”
Ijeh inem itile, Hatchungnung Pakai Israel Pathen in hitin aseiye: Keiman namtin vaipi ngong’a thih namkol kakoipih’a, amaho chu Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar soh’a pangdin ahi. Chule keiman ijakai ama thunoiya kakoi ding, gamsa ho geiya ama kapeh doh ahi, tin seipeh in, ati.
15 Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen to this, Hananiah! The Lord didn't send you, but you have convinced these people to believe in a lie.
Chuin Jeremiah themgao chun, Hananiah jah’a hitin aseiye. “Phaten ngaiyin, Hananiah! Pakaiyin nangma nasol ahipoi. Ahivangin, tun mipiten jouva gaothu nasei hi, atahsan uve.
16 So this is what the Lord says: I'm going to get rid of you from the earth. You will die this year because you have promoted rebellion against the Lord.”
Hijeh Chun Pakaiyin hitin aseiye. Nangma nathi teiding ahi. Nangman Pakai doumah nabol jeh’a, tukum sung’a nathi tei ding ahi, ati.
17 The prophet Hananiah died in the seventh month of that very year.
