Jeremiah 27
1 This message came to Jeremiah from the Lord at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah, son of Josiah, king of Judah.
En el principio del reinado de Zedequías, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, vino esta Palabra de Yavé a Jeremías:
2 This is what the Lord told me: Make for yourself a harness and a yoke and strap it on your neck
Yavé me dice: Haz correas y yugos, y ponlos sobre tu nuca.
3 Send a message to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre, and Sidon through the ambassadors who have come to Jerusalem to see Zedekiah king of Judah.
Los enviarás al rey de Edom, al rey de Moab, al rey de los hijos de Amón, al rey de Tiro y al rey de Sidón, por medio de los mensajeros que llegan a Jerusalén a consulta con Sedequías, rey de Judá.
4 Give them this order from the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, to convey to their masters:
Les encargarás que digan a sus jefes: Yavé de las huestes, el ʼElohim de Israel, dice: Digan a sus jefes:
5 It was by my strength and creative power that I made the earth and the human beings and animals that live there, and I give it to those who are right in my sight.
Yo hice la tierra, al hombre y las bestias que están sobre la superficie de la tierra con mi gran poder y con mi brazo extendido, y doy [la tierra] al que me place.
6 Now I have placed my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon in charge of all these countries. I have even given him control over the wild animals.
Ahora Yo entregué todas estas tierras en mano de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, esclavo mío. Aun le entregué los animales del campo para que le sirvan.
7 All nations will serve him and his son and grandson, until the time that his own land comes under the control of other nations and powerful kings.
Todas las naciones le servirán a él, a su hijo y a su nieto, hasta que también llegue el tiempo [de destrucción] de su propia tierra, y muchas naciones y grandes reyes la reduzcan a esclavitud.
8 Any nation or kingdom that doesn't serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and doesn't submit to him I will punish that nation by war and famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I let Nebuchadnezzar destroy it completely.
La nación o el reino que no sirva a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y que no se someta al yugo del rey de Babilonia, la castigaré con espada, con hambre y pestilencia, dice Yavé, hasta que destruya a esa nación por medio de él.
9 Don't you listen to your prophets, your fortune-tellers, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums, or your magicians when they tell you, “You won't serve the king of Babylon.”
Ustedes no escuchen a sus profetas, a sus adivinos, a sus soñadores, a sus agoreros, ni a sus hechiceros que les hablan. No servirán al rey de Babilonia.
10 They're prophesying a lie to you that will lead to your removal from your country. I will expel you and you will die.
Porque les profetizan mentira a fin de que los remuevan lejos de su tierra, para que Yo los eche fuera y perezcan.
11 But a nation that submits to the king of Babylon and serves him, I will leave in its own land, to cultivate it and live in it, declares the Lord.
Pero la nación que se someta al yugo del rey de Babilonia y le sirva, permanecerá en su propia tierra, la labrará y vivirá en ella, dice Yavé.
12 I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah: Submit to the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and live!
Hablé a Sedequías, rey de Judá, todas estas palabras: Sométanse al yugo del rey de Babilonia. Sírvanle a él y a su pueblo, y vivirán.
13 Why should you and your people die by war and famine and plague, as the Lord has said he would bring against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?
¿Por qué deben morir tú y tu pueblo por la espada, el hambre y la pestilencia? como Yavé dijo con respecto a la nación que no sirva al rey de Babilonia.
14 Don't listen to messages from prophets who say, “You won't serve the king of Babylon,” for they are prophesying a lie to you.
No escuchen las palabras de los profetas que les hablan y dicen: No sirvan al rey de Babilonia. Porque les profetizan mentira.
15 I didn't send them, declares the Lord, and yet they are giving false prophecies in my name. So I will expel you and you will die—you and the prophets who prophesy to you.
Porque Yavé dice: Yo no los envié. Sin embargo, ellos profetizan falsamente en mi Nombre, de modo que Yo los expulse y perezcan ustedes y los profetas que les profetizan.
16 Then I told the priests and all the people, This is what the Lord says: Don't listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, “Look! The objects from the Lord's Temple will shortly be returned from Babylon.” They are prophesying a lie to you.
También hablé a los sacerdotes y a todo este pueblo: Así dice Yavé: No escuchen las palabras de sus profetas, quienes les profetizan: En verdad, los utensilios de la Casa de Yavé serán traídos pronto de Babilonia, porque les profetizan mentira.
17 Don't listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon and live! Why should this city be destroyed?
No los escuchen. Sirvan al rey de Babilonia y vivan. ¿Por qué debe ser desolada esta ciudad?
18 If they are truly prophets and really have the word of the Lord with them, they should be pleading now with the Lord Almighty that what's left in the Lord's Temple, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, isn't taken to Babylon.
Si ellos son profetas, y si la Palabra de Yavé está con ellos, intercedan ahora ante Yavé de las huestes para que los utensilios que quedan de la Casa de Yavé, en el palacio del rey de Judá y en Jerusalén no vayan a Babilonia.
19 This what the Lord Almighty says about the pillars, the bronze sea, the bases, and the rest of the objects that are left in Jerusalem:
Porque Yavé de las huestes dice esto con respecto a las columnas, del mar, de las basas y del resto de los utensilios que quedan en esta ciudad,
20 everything Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon didn't take when he took Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, together with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.
que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, no tomó cuando llevó cautivos de Jerusalén a Babilonia, a Jeconías, hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a todos los nobles de Judá y de Jerusalén.
21 Again, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says about the objects left in the Lord's Temple, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem:
Con respecto a los utensilios que quedan en la Casa de Yavé, en el palacio del rey de Judá y en Jerusalén, Yavé de las huestes, ʼElohim de Israel, dice:
22 They will be taken away to Babylon and will stay there until the time I see to them again, declares the Lord. Only then will I bring them back so they will be in Jerusalem again.
Serán llevados a Babilonia, y allí estarán hasta el día cuando me acuerde de ellos, dice Yavé. Entonces los traeré y los restituiré a este lugar.
