< Jeremiah 22 >

1 This is what the Lord says: Go to the palace of the king of Judah and give this message.
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik nga in tufokla nu in lohm sin tokosra lun Judah, ac fahk kas inge:
2 Tell them: Listen to what the Lord has to say to you, king of Judah, sitting on the throne of David, you and your officials and the people here with you.
“Lohng kas lun LEUM GOD, O tokosra lun Judah su muta fin tron lal David — kom, ac mwet pwapa fulat lom, ac mwet Jerusalem nukewa su ilyak ke mutunpot inge.
3 This is what the Lord says: Do what is fair and right. Protect those who are being unjustly treated by corrupt people. Don't do anything wrong to foreigners, orphans, or the widows. Don't use violence against them. Don't kill innocent people.
4 If you will honestly do what I tell you, then kings who sit on David's throne will ride on chariots and horses with their officials through the gates of this palace. They'll be accompanied by the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem.
Kowos fin oru oana ma nga sapkin, na ac fah oasr tokosra tuku ke fwilin tulik natul David nwe tok. Elos, ac mwet fulat lalos ac mwet nukewa lalos saya, fah uti-utyak ke mutunpot lun inkul fulat ke chariot ac fin horse uh.
5 But if you refuse to obey what I say, then I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that this palace will be turned into rubble.
Tusruktu kowos fin tia akos ma nga sapkin inge, na nga fulahk ke Inek sifacna lah inkul fulat se inge fah sikiyukla. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.
6 This is what the Lord says about the royal family of the king of Judah: You are as dear to me as the forests on Gilead and on the mountains of Lebanon. But I will turn you into a desert, into towns where no one lives.
“In nunak luk, inkul fulat sin tokosra lun Judah oasku oana acn Gilead, ac oana eol in acn Lebanon. Tusruktu nga ac oru tuh in sie acn oan musalla ma wangin mwet muta we.
7 I will choose men to come and destroy you, each with their own ax. They will chop down your fine cedars and throw them in the fire.
Nga ac supwala mwet in kunausya. Elos ac us tuhla lalos ac pakiya sru cedar kato we, ac sisla nu in e uh.
8 Foreigners from many nations will pass by this city and ask each another, “Why has the Lord done such terrible things to this great city?”
“Na toko, mwet in mutunfacl puspis fah fahsr aliki ac asiyuki sie sin sie lah efu ku nga, LEUM GOD, oru ouinge nu ke siti pwengpeng se inge.
9 People will answer, “Because they broke the agreement of the Lord their God. They went and worshiped other gods.”
Na elos fah topuk mu mweyen kowos fahsr sayen wuleang lowos yurin God lowos ke kowos alu ac kulansupu god saya.”
10 Don't weep over the king that died. Don't mourn for him. Instead weep for the king who is exiled, who will never return, who will never see his homeland again.
Mwet Judah, nimet tungel Tokosra Josaiah; Kowos in tia eoksra ke misa lal. A kowos in arulana tung kacl Joahas, wen natul. Elos ac usalla, ac el ac tia sifil foloko. El ac tiana sifilpa liye acn el isusla we.
11 This is what the Lord says about Jehoahaz of Josiah, king of Judah. He succeeded his father Josiah but was taken away. He will never return.
LEUM GOD El fahk kacl Joahas su aolla Josiah, papa tumal, in tokosra Judah, “El som liki acn inge, ac el ac tiana sifil foloko.
12 He will die in exile; he will never see this country again.
El ac misa in facl se elos usalla nu we, ac el ac tia sifil liye facl se inge.”
13 Trouble is coming to Jehoiakim because he mistreats others in building his palace, by dealing unfairly with those constructing the upper floors. He makes his own people work for nothing—he doesn't pay them any wages.
We nu sin mwet se su musai lohm sel ke sesuwos Ac akyokye ke inkanek kutasrik, Su akkohsye mwet in facl sel in orekma nu sel Ac tia sang molin orekma lalos.
14 He says to himself, “I'm going to build myself a great palace, with large upper rooms.” He has windows inserted, puts in cedar panels, and paints it bright red with vermilion.
We nu sin mwet se ma fahk, “Nga ac musaela sie lohm lulap nu sik sifacna Ac oru tuh infukil lucng uh in yohk.” Ouinge el orala winto in lohm sel Ac sinkaeak acn loac ke sak cedar, Ac sroalela ke sroal srusra.
15 Does it make you a king just because you have more cedar than anyone else? Your father had food and drink, didn't he? He ruled fairly and honestly, and he had a good life because of this.
Ya ma inge ac oru tuh kom in sie tokosra wo Kom fin musa lohm ke sak cedar Ma wo liki lohm sin mwet ngia? Papa tomom el insewowo ke moul lal nufon. Orekma lal pwaye ac suwohs pacl nukewa, Ac el kapkapak in ma nukewa el orala.
16 He defended the poor and those in need, and so things went well. Isn't this what knowing me really means? declares the Lord.
El oru nununku suwohs nu sin mwet sukasrup, Na ma nukewa fahsr pac wo nu sel. Pa inge kalmen etu ke LEUM GOD.
17 But all you're looking for, all you think about, is getting whatever you want, however dishonestly. You kill the innocent, you violently mistreat and exploit your people.
A kom sukna ma ac wo nu sum sifacna; Kom uniya mwet wangin mwata Ac arulana aklalfonye mwet lom. LEUM GOD pa fahk ma inge.
18 So this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah: They won't mourn for him, saying: “How sad, my brother! How sad my sister!” They won't mourn for him, saying: “How sad, my lord! How sad, his majesty!”
Ouinge LEUM GOD El fahk kacl Tokosra Jehoiakim lun Judah, wen natul Josiah, “Wangin mwet ac fah mwemelil ke misa lal, ku fahk mu, ‘Pakomuta kawuk se luk! Fuka koluk in mau!’ Wangin mwet ac fah wowoyak ac tung kacl ac fahk, ‘Leum luk, We! Tokosra, We!’
19 His burial will be that of a donkey. He'll be dragged off and thrown away outside the gates of Jerusalem.
Ac fah orek nu sel oana misa lun soko donkey: Ac fah amala el Ac sisila likin mutunpot Jerusalem.”
20 Go to Lebanon and cry for help! Shout in Bashan! Scream from Abarim! For all your lovers have been destroyed.
Mwet Jerusalem, fahla nu Lebanon ac wowoyak, Fahla nu facl Bashan ac tung; Som ac wowoyak infulan eol Moab, Mweyen kutangyukla mutunfacl nukewa su kasrekom ke pacl in mweun.
21 I warned you when you thought you were safe and sound. But you replied, “I'm not going to listen!” That's been your attitude since you were young—you never did what I told you.
LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sum ke pacl kom srak mut, A kom tia lungse porongo. Pa ingan ouiyom in moul lom nufon — Kom tiana akos LEUM GOD.
22 The wind will blow away all your “shepherds,” and your lovers will go into exile. Then you will be shamed and disgraced because of all the evil things you've done.
Mwet kol lom ac fah ukukla ke eng; Mwet kasrekom in pacl in mweun ac utukla nu in sruoh. Siti sum ac fah aklusrongtenyeyuk ac akmwekinyeyuk Ke sripen ma koluk nukewa kom orala.
23 You who live in “Lebanon” in your cedar nest, how much you're going to groan when agonizing pains hit you like a woman in labor.
Kom mongla wo in lohm sum orekla ke sak cedar ma utuku Lebanon me; Tusruktu ac fah mwe pakomuta na yohk nu sum ke pacl se ngal upa ac sun kom — Ngal oana ngal lun sie mutan isus.
24 The Lord said to Jehoiachin, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah: As I live, declares the Lord, even if you were a signet ring on a finger of my right hand, I would pull you off.
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Tokosra Jehoiachin, wen natul Tokosra Jehoiakim lun Judah, “Oana ke nga pa God moul, fin kom pa ring lun tokosra ma oan lac po layot sik, nga ac faiskomla
25 I'm going to hand you over to those who terrify you and who want to kill you, to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and the Babylonians.
ac eiskomyang nu sin mwet ma lungse unikomi, su kom sangeng se. Nga ac eiskomyang nu sel Tokosra Nebuchadnezzar lun Babylonia ac un mwet mweun lal.
26 I'm going to throw you out—you and the mother who gave birth to you—sending you to another country. Neither of you were born there, but both of you will die there.
Nga ac liskomla ac nina kiom ke ku luk tuh komtal in mwet sruoh in sie facl ma komtal kewa tia isusla we, ac komtal ac fah misa we.
27 You won't ever return to the country you love so much.
Komtal ac fah kena sifilpa liye facl se inge, tusruktu komtal ac fah tiana foloko.”
28 Who is this man Jehoiachin? A broken pot that's been thrown away, something nobody wants? Why has he and his children been thrown out, exiled in an unfamiliar country?
Ac nga fahk, “Ya Tokosra Jehoiachin el oana soko sufa fokelik ma sisila ac wangin mwet enenu? Na efu ku el, ac tulik natul, utukla nu in sruoh nu ke sie facl ma elos tiana etu?”
29 My country, my country, my country! Listen to what the Lord has to say!
O fahl Judah, fahl Judah, fahl Judah! Porongo ma LEUM GOD El fahk:
30 This is what the Lord says: Put this man down as having no children. He's a man who won't ever be successful in his whole life. None of his children will ever be successful either. None of them will sit on David's throne or be king in Judah.
“Filiya ke ma simusla lah ac fah wangin tulik natul Jehoiachin. Ac fah wangin ma wo el orala in pacl lal. Wangin sin fwilin tulik natul Ac fah aolulla ke tron lal David In leum fin acn Judah. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
