< Jeremiah 22 >

1 This is what the Lord says: Go to the palace of the king of Judah and give this message.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Jee nʼụlọeze Juda nọdụ nʼebe ahụ kwusaa ozi ndị a.
2 Tell them: Listen to what the Lord has to say to you, king of Judah, sitting on the throne of David, you and your officials and the people here with you.
‘Nụrụ okwu Onyenwe anyị, nye gị, gị eze Juda, gị onye na-anọkwasị nʼocheeze Devid. Nụrụ ya, gị na ndịisi ọchịchị gị, na unu ndị niile na-esite nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ndị a na-apụ na-abatakwa.
3 This is what the Lord says: Do what is fair and right. Protect those who are being unjustly treated by corrupt people. Don't do anything wrong to foreigners, orphans, or the widows. Don't use violence against them. Don't kill innocent people.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, Meenụ ihe dị mma na ihe ziri ezi.
4 If you will honestly do what I tell you, then kings who sit on David's throne will ride on chariots and horses with their officials through the gates of this palace. They'll be accompanied by the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem.
Nʼihi na ọ bụrụ na unu elezie anya mee iwu ndị a niile, mgbe ahụ, ndị eze na-anọkwasị nʼelu ocheeze Devid ga-anọgide na-esite nʼọnụ ụzọ ama ndị a na-apụta, na-abata nʼelu ụgbọ agha ha, ma nʼelu ịnyịnya ha, ha na ndịisi ọchịchị ha, na ndị ha na-achị.
5 But if you refuse to obey what I say, then I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that this palace will be turned into rubble.
Ma ọ bụrụ na unu ajụ irube isi nye iwu ndị a, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, eji m onwe m na-aṅụ iyi na ụlọeze a ga-aghọ mkpọmkpọ ebe.’”
6 This is what the Lord says about the royal family of the king of Judah: You are as dear to me as the forests on Gilead and on the mountains of Lebanon. But I will turn you into a desert, into towns where no one lives.
Nʼihi na ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru banyere ụlọeze Juda, “Ọ bụ ezie na ịdị dịka Gilead nye m, dịka elu ugwu ukwu Lebanọn, aghaghị m ime gị ka ị dịrị ka ebe ikpofu ahịhịa, dịka obodo ndị mmadụ na-ebighị nʼime ya.
7 I will choose men to come and destroy you, each with their own ax. They will chop down your fine cedars and throw them in the fire.
8 Foreigners from many nations will pass by this city and ask each another, “Why has the Lord done such terrible things to this great city?”
“Ọtụtụ ndị si mba ọzọ bịa ga-agafe obodo a. Ha ga-ajụrịta ibe ha ajụjụ sị, ‘Gịnị mere Onyenwe anyị ji mee obodo ukwuu a ihe ọjọọ dị otu a?’
9 People will answer, “Because they broke the agreement of the Lord their God. They went and worshiped other gods.”
Ọsịsa ha ga-enweta ga-abụ, ‘Ọ bụ nʼihi na ha gbakụtara ọgbụgba ndụ Onyenwe anyị Chineke ha azụ, malite ịkpọ isiala na ife chi ndị ọzọ.’”
10 Don't weep over the king that died. Don't mourn for him. Instead weep for the king who is exiled, who will never return, who will never see his homeland again.
Unu akwala akwa nʼihi eze ahụ nwụrụ anwụ, maọbụ ruo ụjụ nʼihi na ọ gaghị abụkwa eze unu, kama kwaanụ akwa nʼihi onye ahụ a dọtara nʼagha buru gaa mba ọzọ. Nʼihi na ọ gaghị alọghachi ọzọ; ọ gaghị ahụkwa ala ebe a mụrụ ya anya ọzọ.
11 This is what the Lord says about Jehoahaz of Josiah, king of Judah. He succeeded his father Josiah but was taken away. He will never return.
Nʼihi na ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru banyere Shalum nwa Josaya, onye nọchiri anya nna ya dịka eze Juda, bụ onye ahụ e si nʼebe a buru gaa mba ọzọ, “Ọ gaghị alọtakwa ọzọ.
12 He will die in exile; he will never see this country again.
Ebe ahụ e buuru ya gaa ka ọ ga-anọ nwụọ. Ọ gaghị ahụkwa ala nke aka ya anya ọzọ.”
13 Trouble is coming to Jehoiakim because he mistreats others in building his palace, by dealing unfairly with those constructing the upper floors. He makes his own people work for nothing—he doesn't pay them any wages.
“Ahụhụ na-adịrị onye ahụ na-ewu ụlọeze ya site nʼụzọ ajọ omume, nke jikwa ikpe na-ezighị ezi na-ewu ime ụlọ elu ya niile, onye ahụ nke na-eme ndị mmadụ rụọ ọrụ nʼefu, nke na-adịghị akwụ ha ụgwọ ọbụla nʼihi ọrụ ha.
14 He says to himself, “I'm going to build myself a great palace, with large upper rooms.” He has windows inserted, puts in cedar panels, and paints it bright red with vermilion.
Onye na-asị, ‘Aga m ewuru onwe m ụlọeze buru ibu, nke ọnụụlọ dị nʼụlọ elu ya sara ezi mbara.’ Ya mere, ọ tinyere oghereikuku sara mbara nʼụlọ ahụ, jirikwa osisi sida machie elu ya, werekwa penti na-acha uhie uhie chọọ ya mma.
15 Does it make you a king just because you have more cedar than anyone else? Your father had food and drink, didn't he? He ruled fairly and honestly, and he had a good life because of this.
“Ị ga-abụ eze nʼihi na i nwere ọtụtụ osisi sida karịa ndị ọzọ? Nna gị o nweghị ihe oriri na ihe ọṅụṅụ? O mere ihe dị mma na ihe ziri ezi nʼihi ya ihe niile gaara ya nke ọma.
16 He defended the poor and those in need, and so things went well. Isn't this what knowing me really means? declares the Lord.
O kwuchitere ọnụ ndị ogbenye na ndị nọ na mkpa, nke a mere na ihe niile gara nke ọma. Ọ bụghị nke a bụ ihe ọ pụtara bụ ịmara m? Ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara
17 But all you're looking for, all you think about, is getting whatever you want, however dishonestly. You kill the innocent, you violently mistreat and exploit your people.
Ma anya unu na obi unu adịghị nʼihe ọzọ ma ọ bụghị naanị nʼuru nʼezighị ezi nʼiwufu ọbara ndị aka ha dị ọcha, na imegbu ndị mmadụ, na iji aka ike pụnara ha ihe ha nwere.”
18 So this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, king of Judah: They won't mourn for him, saying: “How sad, my brother! How sad my sister!” They won't mourn for him, saying: “How sad, my lord! How sad, his majesty!”
19 His burial will be that of a donkey. He'll be dragged off and thrown away outside the gates of Jerusalem.
A ga-eli ya dịka e si eli ịnyịnya ibu.
20 Go to Lebanon and cry for help! Shout in Bashan! Scream from Abarim! For all your lovers have been destroyed.
“Gbagoruo na Lebanọn tie mkpu akwa, meenụ ka a nụ olu unu na Bashan, sitekwanụ na Abarim tie mkpu akwa nʼihi na e gweriela ndị niile unu na ha dị na mma.
21 I warned you when you thought you were safe and sound. But you replied, “I'm not going to listen!” That's been your attitude since you were young—you never did what I told you.
Adọrọ m gị aka na ntị nʼoge ahụ ị nọ na-eche na i guzo chịm, ma ị jụrụ ige ntị. Nke a bụkwa omume gị site na mgbe ị bụ nwantakịrị. Ị jụkwara irubere m isi.
22 The wind will blow away all your “shepherds,” and your lovers will go into exile. Then you will be shamed and disgraced because of all the evil things you've done.
23 You who live in “Lebanon” in your cedar nest, how much you're going to groan when agonizing pains hit you like a woman in labor.
Gị onye na-ebi na Lebanọn, onye ebe obibi ya dị nʼụlọ e ji osisi sida wuo, lee ka i si na-asụ ude mgbe ihe mgbu bịakwasịrị gị, ihe mgbu yiri nke nwanyị ime na-eme.
24 The Lord said to Jehoiachin, son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah: As I live, declares the Lord, even if you were a signet ring on a finger of my right hand, I would pull you off.
“Ma dịka m na-adị ndụ,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya, “a sịkwarị na gị, bụ Jehoiakin, nwa Jehoiakim eze Juda, bụ mgbaaka akara m gbanyere na mkpịsịaka dị nʼaka nri m, aga m agbapụkwa gị,
25 I'm going to hand you over to those who terrify you and who want to kill you, to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and the Babylonians.
were gị nyefee nʼaka ndị ahụ na-achọsi ndụ gị ike, bụ ndị ahụ ị na-atụ ụjọ ha. Aga m enyefe gị nʼaka Nebukadneza eze Babilọn na ndị Kaldịa.
26 I'm going to throw you out—you and the mother who gave birth to you—sending you to another country. Neither of you were born there, but both of you will die there.
Aga m atụfu gị na nne mụrụ gị, tụga unu na mba ọzọ dị iche site nʼobodo a nọ mụọ unu. Ebe ahụ ka unu ga-anọ nwụọ.
27 You won't ever return to the country you love so much.
Unu agaghị alọghachikwa nʼala ahụ na-agụ unu agụụ ịlọghachi nʼime ya.”
28 Who is this man Jehoiachin? A broken pot that's been thrown away, something nobody wants? Why has he and his children been thrown out, exiled in an unfamiliar country?
Nwoke a bụ Jehoiakin, ọ bụ ite tiwara etiwa, nke e lelịrị elelị, ihe onye ọbụla na-achọghị? Nʼihi gịnị ka a ga-eji tufuo ya na ụmụ ya, tụga ha na mba ha na-amaghị?
29 My country, my country, my country! Listen to what the Lord has to say!
Ala, ala, ala, nụrụ okwu Onyenwe anyị.
30 This is what the Lord says: Put this man down as having no children. He's a man who won't ever be successful in his whole life. None of his children will ever be successful either. None of them will sit on David's throne or be king in Judah.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru: “Detuo ya nʼakwụkwọ na nwoke a bụ onye gba aka nwa, nwoke nke ihe na-agaghị agara nke ọma nʼoge ndụ ya niile, nʼihi na o nweghị onye nʼime ụmụ ọ mụrụ nke ihe ga-agara nke ọma, o nwekwaghị onye nʼime ha ga-anọkwasị nʼocheeze Devid, maọbụ chịakwa ọzọ na Juda.”
