< Jeremiah 18 >

1 This message came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
Ga maganar da ta zo wa Irmiya daga wurin Ubangiji.
2 Go down right away to the potter's house. I will give you my message there.
“Ka gangara zuwa gidan mai ginin tukwane, a can zan ba ka saƙona.”
3 I went down to the potter's house and saw him working at his potter's wheel.
Sai na gangara zuwa gidan mai ginin tukwane, na gan shi yana aiki a na’urar ginin tukwanen.
4 But the pot that he was making from the clay went wrong. So he made it into something different as he thought best.
Amma tukunyar da yake ginawa ta lalace a hannuwansa, sai mai ginin tukwanen ya sāke gina wata tukunya dabam, yana gyara ta yadda ya ga dama.
5 The Lord's message came to me, saying,
Sai maganar Ubangiji ta zo mini cewa,
6 People of Israel, declares the Lord, can't I deal with you just like this potter does with his clay? I hold you in my hand just like clay in the potter's hand, people of Israel.
“Ya gidan Isra’ila, ashe, ba zan yi da ku yadda mai ginin tukwanen nan yake yi ba?” In ji Ubangiji. “Kamar yumɓu a hannun mai ginin tukwane, haka kuke a hannuna, ya gidan Isra’ila.
7 At one time it could happen that I announce that a nation or a kingdom is going to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed.
A duk lokacin da na yi shela cewa za a tumɓuke, a kakkarya a kuma hallaka wata al’umma ko mulki,
8 However, if that nation I warned gives up its evil ways, then I will change my mind regarding the disaster I was about to bring.
in wannan al’ummar da na yi wa gargaɗi ta tuba daga muguntarta, sai in janye in kuma fasa kawo mata masifar da na yi niyya aukar mata.
9 At another time I could announce that I'm going to build up and give power to a nation or a kingdom.
In kuma wani lokaci na yi shela cewa za a gina wata al’umma ko mulki a kuma kafa ta,
10 But if it does evil in my sight and refuses to listen to my voice, then I will change my mind regarding the good I had planned for it.
in ta yi mugunta a gabana ba tă kuwa yi mini biyayya ba, sai in janye alherin da na yi niyya in yi mata.
11 So tell the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem that this is what the Lord says: Watch out! I am preparing disaster for you, and working out a plan against you. All of you, give up your evil ways. Live right and act right!
“Yanzu fa, sai ka faɗa wa mutanen Yahuda da waɗanda suke zaune a Urushalima, ‘Ga abin da Ubangiji yana cewa ga shi! Ina shirya muku masifa ina ƙirƙiro dabara a kanku. Saboda haka ku juya daga mugayen hanyoyinku, kowannenku, ku canja hanyoyinku da kuma ayyukanku.’
12 But they'll say, “We just can't! We'll do whatever we want. Each of us will stubbornly follow our own evil thinking.”
Amma za su amsa su ce, ‘Ba amfani. Za mu ci gaba da shirye-shiryenmu; kowannenmu zai bi taurin muguwar zuciyarsa.’”
13 Consequently this is what the Lord says: Ask around the nations—has anybody ever heard anything like this? Virgin Israel has acted really badly.
Saboda haka ga abin da Ubangiji yana cewa, “Ku tattambaya a cikin al’ummai. Wa ya taɓa jin irin wannan abu? Budurwa Isra’ila ta yi mugun abu mafi banƙyama.
14 Does the snow of Lebanon ever disappear from its rocky mountain-tops? Do its cool waters that flow from such distant sources ever dry up?
Dusar ƙanƙarar Lebanon ta taɓa rabuwa da kan duwatsun Lebanon? Ruwan mai sanyinsa daga rafuffukansa masu nesa sun taɓa daina gudu?
15 But my people have rejected me! They burn incense to useless idols which trip them up, making them leave the old roads in order to walk down unmade paths instead of the highway.
Duk da haka mutanena sun manta da ni; sun ƙone turare wa gumaka marasa amfani, waɗanda suka sa su tuntuɓe a al’amuransu a hanyoyin dā. Sun sa suka yi tafiya a ɓarayin hanyoyi a hanyoyin da ba a gina ba.
16 They have turned their country into a horrific wasteland, a place that will always be treated with contempt. People passing by will be shocked, shaking their heads in disbelief.
Ƙasarsu za tă zama kufai, abin reni har abada; dukan waɗanda suka wuce za su yi mamaki su kaɗa kai.
17 Like a strong wind from the east I will scatter them before the enemy. I will turn my back on them and not look at them when their time of trouble comes.
Kamar iska daga gabas zan warwatsa su a gaban abokan gābansu; zan juya musu bayana, ba zan nuna musu fuskata ba a ranar masifarsu.”
18 Some people decided, “We need a plan to deal with Jeremiah. There'll still be priests to explain the law, there'll still be wise people to give advice, and there'll still be prophets to give prophecies. Let's organize a smear campaign against him so we don't have to listen to a word he says.”
Suka ce, “Zo mu shirya wa Irmiya maƙarƙashiya; gama koyarwar doka da firist ya yi ba za tă ɓace ba, haka ma shawara daga mai hikima da kuma magana daga annabawa. Saboda haka ku zo, mu fāɗa masa da harsunanmu kada mu saurari wani abin da zai faɗa.”
19 Lord, please pay attention to what's happening to me! Listen to what my accusers are saying!
Ka saurare ni, ya Ubangiji ka ji abin da masu zargina suke cewa!
20 Should good be paid back with evil? Yet they have dug a pit to trap me! Remember how I stood before you to plead on their behalf, to stop you being angry with them?
Ya kamata a sāka wa alheri da mugunta? Duk da haka sun haƙa mini rami. Ka tuna cewa na tsaya a gabanka na kuma yi magana a madadinsu don ka janye fushinka daga gare su.
21 But now may their children starve; may they be killed by the sword. May their wives lose their children and their husbands; may their husbands die from disease; may their young men be killed in battle.
Saboda haka ka kawo wa’ya’yansu yunwa; ka miƙa su ga ikon takobi. Bari matansu su zama marasa’ya’ya da gwauraye; bari a kashe mazansu, a kuma kashe samarinsu da takobi a yaƙi.
22 May cries of agony be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring invaders to attack them, because they dug a pit to capture me and hid traps to catch me as I walk along.
Bari a ji kuka daga gidajensu sa’ad da ka kawo masu hari a kansu farat ɗaya, gama sun haƙa rami don su kama ni suka kuma kafa tarko wa ƙafafuna.
23 But Lord, you know about all their plots to try and kill me. Don't forgive their wickedness; don't wipe away their sin. Bring them down! Deal with them when you're angry!
