< Jeremiah 13 >
1 This is what the Lord told me to do: Go and buy yourself a linen loincloth and put it on, but don't wash it.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí fún mi: “Lọ kí o sì ra àmùrè aṣọ ọ̀gbọ̀, kí o sì dì í mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, kí o má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí omi kí ó kàn án.”
2 So I went and bought a loincloth as the Lord had instructed me, and I put it on.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo ra àmùrè gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti wí, mo sì dì í mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ mi.
3 Then the Lord gave me another message:
Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá nígbà kejì,
4 Take the loincloth that you bought and put on, and go immediately to the River Perath and hide it there in a hole among the rocks.
“Mú àmùrè tí o rà, kí o sì fiwé ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ, kí o sì lọ sí Perati, kí o lọ pa á mọ́ sí pàlàpálá òkúta.”
5 So I went and hid it at the River Perath, as the Lord had told me.
Nígbà náà ni mo lọ pa á mọ́ ní Perati gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti wí fún mi.
6 A long time later the Lord told me, Go to Perath, and get the loincloth that I ordered you to hide there.
Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ díẹ̀, Olúwa sọ fún mi, “Lọ sí Perati kí o lọ mú àmùrè tí mo ní kí o pamọ́ síbẹ̀.”
7 I went to Perath and dug up the loincloth, and removed it from where I'd hidden it. Obviously it was ruined—completely useless.
Nígbà náà ni mo lọ sí Perati mo lọ wá àmùrè mi níbi tí mo pa á mọ́ sí, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí àmùrè náà ti bàjẹ́, kò sì wúlò fún ohunkóhun mọ́.
8 Then a message from the Lord came to me:
Nígbà náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ̀ mí wá pé:
9 This is what the Lord says: I will ruin the arrogance of Judah and the great arrogance of Jerusalem in exactly the same way.
“Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa sọ: ‘Bákan náà ni èmi yóò run ìgbéraga Juda àti ìgbéraga ńlá ti Jerusalẹmu.
10 These evil people refuse to listen to what I tell them. They follow their own stubborn and evil thinking and run off to worship other gods—they will be like this loincloth, completely useless.
Àwọn ènìyàn búburú tí ó kùnà láti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ mi, tí wọ́n ń lo agídí ọkàn wọn, tí ó sì ń rìn tọ àwọn òrìṣà láti sìn wọ́n, àti láti foríbalẹ̀ fún wọn, yóò sì dàbí àmùrè yìí tí kò wúlò fún ohunkóhun.
11 In the same way that a loincloth holds tightly to the body, so I made all the people of Israel and Judah hold tightly to me, declares the Lord. Then they could have been my people, representing me, giving me honor and praise. But they refused to listen.
Nítorí bí a ti lẹ àmùrè mọ́ ẹ̀gbẹ́ ènìyàn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a lẹ agbo ilé Israẹli àti gbogbo ilé Juda mọ́ mi,’ ni Olúwa wí, ‘kí wọn kí ó lè jẹ́ ènìyàn ògo àti ìyìn fún mi, ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò fẹ́ gbọ́.’
12 So tell them this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Every wine jar shall be filled with wine. When they reply, “Don't we know that already? Of course every wine jar should be filled with wine!”
“Sọ fún wọn, ‘Èyí ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ Israẹli wí, gbogbo ìgò ni à ó fi ọtí wáìnì kún.’ Bí wọ́n bá sì sọ fún ọ pé, ‘Ṣé a kò mọ̀ pé gbogbo ìgò ni ó yẹ láti bu ọtí wáìnì kún?’
13 then tell them that this is what the Lord says: I'm going to make everyone who lives in this land drunk—the kings sitting on David's throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the people of Jerusalem.
Nítorí náà sọ fún wọn pé, ‘Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: Èmi yóò fi ìmutípara kún gbogbo olùgbé ilẹ̀ yìí pẹ̀lú ọba tí ó jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ Dafidi, àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn wòlíì gbogbo àwọn tó ń gbé ní Jerusalẹmu.
14 I'm going to smash them against each other like wine jars, both parents and children, declares the Lord. I won't let any mercy or pity or compassion stop me from destroying them.
Èmi yóò ti èkínní lu èkejì, àwọn baba àti ọmọkùnrin pọ̀ ni Olúwa wí. Èmi kì yóò dáríjì, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kì yóò ṣàánú, èmi kì yóò ṣe ìyọ́nú láti máa pa wọ́n run.’”
15 Listen and pay attention. Don't be arrogant, for the Lord has spoken.
Gbọ́ kí o sì fetísílẹ̀, ẹ má ṣe gbéraga, nítorí Olúwa ti sọ̀rọ̀.
16 Honor the Lord your God before he brings the darkness, before you trip and fall in the twilight on the mountains. You long for light to come, but he send only gloom and complete darkness.
Ẹ fi ògo fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, kí ó tó mú òkùnkùn wá, àti kí ó tó mú ẹsẹ̀ yín tàsé lórí òkè tí ó ṣókùnkùn. Nígbà tí ẹ̀yin sì ń retí ìmọ́lẹ̀, òun yóò sọ ọ́ di òjìji yóò sì ṣe bi òkùnkùn biribiri.
17 But if you refuse to listen, I will weep secretly inside because of your pride. My tears pouring down because the Lord's flock has been captured.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yin kò bá fetísílẹ̀, Èmi yóò sọkún ní ìkọ̀kọ̀ nítorí ìgbéraga yín. Ojú mi yóò sun ẹkún kíkorò, tí omi ẹkún, yóò sì máa sàn jáde, nítorí a kó agbo Olúwa lọ ìgbèkùn.
18 Tell the king and the queen mother: Get down from your thrones, because your splendid crowns have fallen from your heads.
Sọ fún ọba àti ayaba pé, “Ẹ rẹ ara yín sílẹ̀, ẹ sọ̀kalẹ̀ láti orí ìtẹ́ yín, adé ògo yín bọ́ sí ilẹ̀ láti orí yín.”
19 The towns in the Negev are surrounded; no one can get through to them. The whole of Judah has been taken away into exile, everyone has been exiled.
20 Look up and you'll see the invaders coming from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you to look after? Where are the sheep you were so proud of?
Gbé ojú rẹ sókè, kí o sì wo àwọn tí ó ń bọ̀ láti àríwá. Níbo ni agbo ẹran tí a fi sí abẹ́ àkóso rẹ wà; àgùntàn tí ò ń mú yangàn.
21 What are you going to say when he puts your enemies in charge of you, people you once counted as your friends? Won't you suffer pains like a woman in labor?
Kí ni ìwọ yóò wí nígbà tí Olúwa bá dúró lórí rẹ àwọn tí o mú bí ọ̀rẹ́ àtàtà. Ǹjẹ́ kò ní jẹ́ ìrora fún ọ bí aboyún tó ń rọbí?
22 If you say to yourself, Why has this happened to me? it's because you have been so wicked. That's why your skirts were stripped off and you were raped.
Tí o bá sì bi ara rẹ léèrè, “Kí ni ìdí rẹ̀ tí èyí fi ṣẹlẹ̀ sí mi?” Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí o ṣẹ̀ ni aṣọ rẹ fi fàya tí a sì ṣe é ní ìṣekúṣe.
23 Can Ethiopians change the color of their skin? Can a leopard change its spots? In the same way you can't change and do good because you're so used to doing evil.
Ǹjẹ́ Etiopia le yí àwọ̀ rẹ̀ padà? Tàbí ẹkùn lè yí àwọ̀ rẹ̀ padà? Bí èyí kò ti lè rí bẹ́ẹ̀ náà ni ẹ̀yin tí ìwà búburú bá ti mọ́ lára kò lè ṣe rere.
24 I'm going to scatter you like chaff blown away by the desert wind.
“N ó fọ́n ọn yín ká bí i ìyàngbò tí ẹ̀fúùfù ilẹ̀ aṣálẹ̀ ń fẹ́.
25 This is what's going to happen to you; this is what I have decided to do to you, declares the Lord, because you have forgotten me and believed in lies.
Èyí ni ìpín tìrẹ; tí mo ti fi sílẹ̀ fún ọ,” ni Olúwa wí, “Nítorí ìwọ ti gbàgbé mi o sì gbẹ́kẹ̀lé àwọn ọlọ́run àjèjì.
26 I will pull your skirts up over your face, so you will be seen naked and ashamed.
N ó sí aṣọ lójú rẹ, kí ẹ̀sín rẹ le hàn síta—
27 I watched your acts of adultery and lust, how you prostituted yourselves shamelessly, worshiping idols on the hills and in the fields. Yes, I saw the disgusting things you did. Disaster is coming to you, Jerusalem! How long are you going to remain unclean?
ìwà àgbèrè àti ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́, àìlójútì panṣágà rẹ! Mo ti rí ìwà ìríra rẹ, lórí òkè àti ní pápá. Ègbé ni fún ọ ìwọ Jerusalẹmu! Yóò ti pẹ́ tó tí o ó fi máa wà ní àìmọ́?”
