James 2
1 My friends, as trusting believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, you must not show favoritism.
സഹോദരന്മാരേ, തേജസ്സുള്ളവനായി നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കരുതു.
2 Imagine that a man comes into your synagogue wearing gold rings and fine clothes, and then a poor man comes in dressed in rags.
നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളിയിൽ മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും പൊന്മോതിരം ഇട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനും മുഷിഞ്ഞ വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചോരു ദരിദ്രനും വന്നാൽ
3 If you pay special attention to the well-dressed man, and say, “Please sit here in a seat of honor,” while you say to the poor man, “Stand over there, or sit on the floor by my feet,”
നിങ്ങൾ മോടിയുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചവനെ നോക്കി: ഇവിടെ സുഖേന ഇരുന്നാലും എന്നും ദരിദ്രനോടു: നീ അവിടെ നിൽക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ പാദപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ഇരിക്ക എന്നും പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ
4 haven't you discriminated and judged with bad motives?

5 Listen, my dear friends: Didn't God choose those who the world considers poor to be rich in their trust in him, and to inherit the kingdom he promised to those who love him?
പ്രിയ സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കേൾപ്പിൻ: ദൈവം ലോകത്തിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവരെ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽ സമ്പന്നരും തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർക്കു വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ അവകാശികളുമാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളോ ദരിദ്രനെ അപമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
6 But you've treated the poor shamefully. Isn't it the rich who oppress you and drag you before the courts?
ധനവാന്മാർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു? അവർ അല്ലയോ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നതു?
7 Don't they insult the honorable name of the one who called you and to whom you belong?
നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നല്ല നാമത്തെ അവർ അല്ലയോ ദുഷിക്കുന്നതു?
8 If you really observe the royal law of Scripture: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” then you do well.
എന്നാൽ “കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്നെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ സ്നേഹിക്കേണം” എന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം രാജകീയന്യായപ്രമാണം നിങ്ങൾ നിവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നന്നു.
9 But if you show favoritism, you're sinning. The law convicts you as guilty of breaking it.
മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിച്ചാലോ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ലംഘനക്കാർ എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ തെളിയുന്നു.
10 Someone who observes everything in the law but fails in just one part is guilty of breaking it all.
ഒരുത്തൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണം മുഴുവനും അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നിട്ടും ഒന്നിൽ തെറ്റിയാൽ അവൻ സകലത്തിന്നും കുറ്റക്കാരനായിത്തീർന്നു.
11 God told you not to commit adultery, and he also told you not to kill. So if you don't commit adultery, but you do kill, you've become a law-breaker.
വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചവൻ കൊല ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നും കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും കൊല ചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവനായിത്തീർന്നു.
12 You should speak and act as people who will be judged by the law of freedom.
സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ വിധിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ സംസാരിക്കയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ചെയ്‌വിൻ.
13 Anyone who doesn't show mercy will be judged without mercy. Yet mercy wins out over judgment!
കരുണ കാണിക്കാത്തവന്നു കരുണയില്ലാത്ത ന്യായവിധി ഉണ്ടാകും; കരുണ ന്യായവിധിയെ ജയിച്ചു പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു.
14 My friends, what's the good of someone saying they trust in God when they don't do what's good and right? Can such “trust” save them?
സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഒരുത്തൻ തനിക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു? ആ വിശ്വാസത്താൽ അവൻ രക്ഷ പ്രാപിക്കുമോ?
15 If a brother or sister doesn't have clothes, or food for the day,
ഒരു സഹോദരനോ, സഹോദരിയോ നഗ്നരും അഹോവൃത്തിക്കു വക ഇല്ലാത്തവരുമായിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവരോടു:
16 and you say to them, “Blessings on you! Stay warm and have a good meal!” and you don't provide what they need to survive, what's the good of that?
സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോയി തീ കായുകയും വിശപ്പടക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌വിൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ദേഹരക്ഷെക്കു ആവശ്യമുള്ളതു അവർക്കു കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ ഉപകാരം എന്തു?
17 By itself even your trust-based faith in God is dead and worthless if you don't actually do what's good and right.
അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വാസവും പ്രവൃത്തികളില്ലാത്തതായാൽ സ്വതവെ നിർജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.
18 Someone may argue, “You have your trust in God; I have my good deeds.” Well, show me your trust in God without good deeds, and I will show you my trust in God by my good deeds!
എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: നിനക്കു വിശ്വാസം ഉണ്ടു; എനിക്കു പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറയുമായിരിക്കും. നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ കൂടാതെ കാണിച്ചുതരിക; ഞാനും എന്റെ വിശ്വാസം പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ കാണിച്ചു തരാം.
19 You believe that God is one God? That's great—but demons believe in God too, and they're scared of him!
ദൈവം ഏകൻ എന്നു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ; കൊള്ളാം; പിശാചുകളും അങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും വിറെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
20 You foolish people! Don't you know that trust in God without doing what's right is worthless?
വ്യർത്ഥമനുഷ്യാ, പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസം നിഷ്ഫലമെന്നു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടോ?
21 Wasn't our father Abraham made right by what he did—by offering his son Isaac on the altar?
നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ അർപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?
22 You notice that his trust in God worked together with what he did, and through what he did his trust in God was made complete.
അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോടുകൂടെ വിശ്വാസം വ്യാപരിച്ചു എന്നും പ്രവൃത്തിയാൽ വിശ്വാസം പൂർണ്ണമായി എന്നും നീ കാണുന്നുവല്ലോ.
23 In this way scripture was fulfilled: “Abraham trusted God, and this was considered as him doing right,” and he was called the friend of God.
അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും അതു അവന്നു നീതിയായി കണക്കിടുകയും ചെയ്തു എന്നുള്ള തിരുവെഴുത്തു നിവൃത്തിയായി അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതൻ എന്നു പേർ പ്രാപിച്ചു.
24 You see that people are made right by what they do, and not just by trusting God.
അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വെറും വിശ്വാസത്താലല്ല പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ തന്നേ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നു.
25 In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute made right by what she did when she looked after the messengers and then sent them away by a different road?
അവ്വണ്ണം രാഹാബ് എന്ന വേശ്യയും ദൂതരെ കൈക്കൊൾകയും വേറൊരു വഴിയായി പറഞ്ഞയക്കയും ചെയ്തതിൽ പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ അല്ലയോ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു?
26 Just as the body is dead without the spirit, trust in God is dead if you don't do what's right.
ഇങ്ങനെ ആത്മാവില്ലാത്ത ശരീരം നിർജ്ജീവമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ പ്രവൃത്തിയില്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസവും നിർജ്ജീവമാകുന്നു.
