< Isaiah 66 >
1 This is what the Lord says: Heaven is my throne, and the earth is where I place my feet. So where will this house be that you're going to build for me? Where will I lie down to rest?
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Ko hoku ʻafioʻanga ʻae langi, pea ko hoku tuʻuʻanga vaʻe ʻa māmani: kofaʻā ia ʻae fale ʻoku mou langa kiate au? Pea kofaʻā ia ʻae potu ʻo ʻeku mālōlō?
2 I made everything; that's how it all came into existence, says the Lord. Those I look favorably on are humble and repentant, and they tremble when I speak.
He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Ko e ngaahi meʻa na kotoa pē naʻe ngaohi ʻe hoku nima, pea kuo ʻi ai pe ʻae ngaahi meʻa ko ia: ka te u vakai ki he tangata ni, ʻio, kiate ia ʻoku masiva pea ʻoku loto fakatomala moʻoni, pea ʻoku tetetete ʻi heʻeku folofola.
3 When someone sacrifices a bull it's like human sacrifice, and when someone sacrifices a lamb, it's like breaking the neck of a dog. When they present a grain offering it's like presenting pig's blood, and when they burn incense it's like worshiping an idol. Since they have chosen to act like this and to love such disgusting things,
Ko ia ʻoku ne tāmateʻi ʻae pulu ʻoku hangē ia kuo ne tāmateʻi ha tangata; ko ia ʻoku ne feilaulau ʻaki ha lami, ʻo hangē kuo ne tuʻusi ke motu ʻae kia ʻoe kulī; ko ia ʻoku ne ʻatu ha feilaulau, ʻoku hangē kuo ne ʻatu ʻae toto ʻoe puaka; ko ia ʻoku ne tutu ʻae meʻa namu kakala, ʻo hangē kuo ne tāpuaki ha tamapua. ʻIo, kuo nau fili honau ngaahi hala, pea ʻoku fiefia honau laumālie ʻi heʻenau ngaahi meʻa fakalielia.
4 I will also choose to punish them severely and to terrify them, because I called out to them but no one answered; I spoke to them, but no one listened. Instead they did what's evil in my sight, choosing to do what I hate.
Pea ko au foki te u tuʻutuʻuni ʻenau ngaahi mamahi, pea ko e meʻa ʻoku nau manavahē ki ai te u ʻomi kiate kinautolu; koeʻuhi ʻi heʻeku ui, naʻe ʻikai tali ʻe ha tokotaha ʻi heʻeku lea, naʻe ʻikai te nau fanongo, kā naʻa nau fai kovi ʻi hoku ʻao, pea naʻa nau fili ʻaia naʻe ʻikai te u fiemālie ai.”
5 Listen to what the Lord has to say, those of you who tremble when he speaks. This is what some of your people who hate you and throw you out have said, “Let the Lord be glorified, so we can see how happy you are!” but it's them who are going to be humiliated.
Fanongo ki he folofola ʻa Sihova, ʻakimoutolu ʻoku tetetete ki heʻene folofola; “Ko homou ngaahi kāinga naʻe fehiʻa kiate kimoutolu, ʻo kapusi kituʻa ʻakimoutolu koeʻuhi ko hoku huafa, naʻa nau pehē, ‘Ke ongoongoleleiʻia ʻa Sihova: ka e ʻafio ia ko homou fakafiefia,’ pea ʻe mā ʻakinautolu.
6 Hear all the shouting from the city! Hear all the noise from the Temple! It's the sound of the Lord giving his enemies back what they deserve.
Ko e leʻo ʻoe longoaʻa mei he kolo, ko e leʻo mei he falelotu lahi, ko e leʻo ʻo Sihova ʻaia ʻoku ne totongi totonu ki hono ngaahi fili.
7 She gave birth before she went into labor, she delivered a boy before the pains came.
“ʻI he teʻeki ai ke langā, naʻa ne fāʻeleʻi, ʻi he teʻeki ai ke mamahi ia, naʻe fāʻeleʻi ia ʻae tamasiʻi tangata.
8 Who has ever heard of anything like this? Who has seen this kind of thing before? Can a country be delivered in a day, can a nation be born in a moment? Yet as soon as Zion went into labor, she gave birth to her children.
Ko hai kuo ne fanongo ki ha meʻa pehē? Ko hai kuo ne mamata ki he ngaahi meʻa pehē? ʻE faʻa ngaohi ʻa māmani ke fanauʻi ʻi he ʻaho pe taha? Pe ʻe fanauʻi fakafokifā ha puleʻanga? He naʻe kamata langa pe ʻa Saione, pea fanauʻi leva ʻa ʻene fānau.
9 Would I bring a baby to the point of birth and then not deliver it? the Lord asks. Would I who deliver the baby stop it from being born? the Lord asks again.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, He te u ʻomi ke fanauʻi, ka e ʻikai te u ngaohi ke fāʻele?” ʻOku pehē ʻe ho ʻOtua, He te u ngaohi ke fānau, kae tāpuni [ʻae manāva]?
10 Celebrate with Jerusalem and be happy for her, everyone who loves her; celebrate with her and sing for joy, everyone who mourns over her.
“Ke fiefia ʻakimoutolu mo Selūsalema, pea nekeneka mo ia, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻofa kiate ia: mou fiefia ʻi he fiefia mo ia, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku mamahi koeʻuhi ko ia:
11 Like a baby you can nurse at her breasts that bring comfort, drinking deeply and being satisfied by all she has to give.
Koeʻuhi ke mou huhu, pea mākona ʻi he huʻahuhu ʻo ʻene fakafiemālie? Koeʻuhi ke mou mimisi, pea fiefia ʻi hono lahi ʻo hono nāunau.
12 This is what the Lord says: Watch! I'm going to give her peace and prosperity like a flowing river, the wealth of nations like an overflowing stream. You will nurse and be carried on her hip and played with on her knees.
He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Vakai, te u tuku ʻae melino kiate ia ʻo hangē ko e vaitafe, pea ko e nāunau ʻoe Senitaile ʻo hangē ko e vaitafe laulahi: pea te mou toki huhu, ʻe fua ʻakimoutolu ʻi hono vakavaka, pea lulululu ʻe hono ongo tui.
13 Like a mother comforting her child, I will comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem.
ʻO hangē ko e tokotaha ʻoku fakafiemālie ki ai ʻene faʻē, ʻe pehē ʻeku fakafiemālie kiate koe; pea ʻe fakafiemālieʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi Selūsalema.”
14 When you see this happening, you'll be happy deep inside, and you'll prosper like growing grass. The Lord's power will be recognized as blessing his servants and cursing his enemies.
Pea ka mou ka mamata ki he meʻa ni, ʻe fiefia homou loto, pea moʻui homou hui ʻo hangē ko e ʻakau mata: pea ʻe hā ʻae nima ʻo Sihova ki heʻene kau tamaioʻeiki, mo hono houhau ki hono ngaahi fili.
15 Look! The Lord is coming surrounded by fire, his chariots whirling like the wind, to express his anger with fury, to give his reprimand in flames of fire.
Kae vakai, ʻe hāʻele mai ʻa Sihova mo e afi, pea hangē ko e ʻahiohio ʻa ʻene ngaahi saliote, ke ʻatu hono houhau ʻi he mālohi, pea mo ʻene valoki ʻaki ʻae ulo ʻoe afi.
16 The Lord will execute judgment on everyone by fire and by his sword. There will be many killed by the Lord.
Koeʻuhi ʻe fai ʻe Sihova mo e kakano kotoa pē ʻaki ʻae afi mo ʻene heletā: pea ko e tokolahi ʻe tāmateʻi ʻe Sihova.
17 Those who dedicate themselves and make themselves pure in order to enter the sacred gardens, to worship the idol placed in the center, and to eat pork and vermin and rats and other disgusting things—they will all die together, says the Lord.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE ʻauha fakataha, ʻakinautolu ʻoku teuteu mo fakamaʻa ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngoue ʻi he tuʻa [ʻakau ʻe taha ]ʻi he lotolotonga, ʻo kai ʻae kakano ʻoe puaka, pea mo e meʻa fakalielia, pea mo e kumā.
18 I know what they're doing and what they're thinking. I will soon come to gather all nations and peoples of different languages. They will come and see my glory.
“He ʻoku ou ʻilo ʻenau ngaahi ngāue pea mo ʻenau ngaahi mahalo: ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, te u tānaki ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē mo e lea kehekehe kotoa pē; pea te nau haʻu, ʻo mamata ki hoku nāunau.
19 I will give them a sign, and I will send some who survive to the nations. They will go to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians (who are famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant lands that haven't heard about me or seen my glory. They will announce my glory among the nations.
20 They will bring back all your people from every nations to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord. They will come on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels, says the Lord. They will bring them in the same way the Israelites bring their grain offerings to the Lord's Temple using vessels that are ceremonially clean.
Pea ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, te nau ʻomi homou ngaahi kāinga kotoa pē ko e feilaulau kia Sihova mei he puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻi he fanga hoosi, pea ʻi he ngaahi meʻa teka, pea ʻi he meʻa fata, pea ʻi he fanga miuli, pea ʻi he fanga manu veʻe vave, ki hoku moʻunga tapu ko Selūsalema, ʻo hangē naʻe ʻomi ʻe he fānau ʻo ʻIsileli ʻae feilaulau ʻi he ipu maʻa ki he fale ʻo Sihova.
21 I will choose some of them as priests and Levites, says the Lord.
Pea ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Te u fokotuʻu ʻiate kinautolu foki ʻae kau taulaʻeiki pea mo e kau Livai.”
22 As the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will last forever, so your descendants and your reputation will also last forever, says the Lord.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻO hangē ko e tuʻumaʻu ʻi hoku ʻao, ʻae ngaahi langi foʻou pea mo e maama foʻou, ʻaia te u ngaohi, ʻe pehē ʻae tuʻumaʻu ʻo homou hako mo homou hingoa.
23 Everyone will come and worship me, from one New Moon to the next, and from one Sabbath to the next, says the Lord.
Pea ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE haʻu ʻae kakai kotoa pē ke lotu ʻi hoku ʻao, mei he māhina foʻou ʻe taha ʻo aʻu ki he māhina foʻou ʻe taha, pea mei he ʻaho tapu ʻe taha ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho tapu ʻe taha.
24 They will go out and see the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me. The worms that eat them won't die, the fire that burns them won't go out, and everyone who sees them will be horrified.
“Pea te nau ʻalu atu, pea sio ki he ngaahi ʻangaʻanga ʻoe kakai naʻe angatuʻu kiate au: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai mate honau ʻuanga, pea ʻe ʻikai tāmateʻi ʻenau afi; pea te nau hoko ko e fehiʻanekina ki he kakai kotoa pē.”
