< Isaiah 20 >

1 In the year when Sargon, king of Assyria, sent his army commander to attack the town of Ashdod and conquered it,

2 at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah, son of Amoz. He told him, “Take off the sackcloth clothes from your body and remove your sandals.” Isaiah did so and went around naked and barefoot.
ní àkókò náà ni ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ti ẹnu Isaiah ọmọ Amosi jáde. Ó sọ fún un pé, “Mú aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ kúrò ní ara rẹ kí o sì bọ́ sálúbàtà kúrò ní ẹsẹ̀ rẹ.” Ó sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ó ń lọ káàkiri ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà.
3 Then the Lord said, “In the same way that my servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and a warning against Egypt and Ethiopia,
Lẹ́yìn náà ni Olúwa wí pé, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìránṣẹ́ mi Isaiah ti lọ káàkiri ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà fún ọdún mẹ́ta, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àmì àti àpẹẹrẹ sí Ejibiti àti Kuṣi,
4 so shall the king of Assyria lead the Egyptian prisoners and the Ethiopian exiles, both young and old, naked and barefoot. Their buttocks will be bare, to Egypt's shame.
bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ọba Asiria yóò kó àwọn ìgbèkùn Ejibiti lọ ní ìhòhò àti láì wọ bàtà pẹ̀lú àwọn àtìpó Kuṣi, ọ̀dọ́ àti àgbà, pẹ̀lú ìbàdí ìhòhò—bí àbùkù Ejibiti.
5 They will be discouraged and humiliated because they had put their hope in Ethiopia and proudly trusted in Egypt.
Gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Kuṣi tí wọ́n sì ń fi Ejibiti yangàn ni ẹ̀rù yóò dé bá tí a ó sì dójútì wọ́n.
6 At that time the people living in the coastal lands will say, ‘Look what has happened those we were depending on! We ran to them for help to save us from the king of Assyria. We don't stand a chance!’”
Ní ọjọ́ náà àwọn ènìyàn tí ó ń gbé ní etí Òkun yóò wí pé, ‘Wo ohun tí ó ti ṣẹlẹ̀ sí àwọn tí a ti gbẹ́kẹ̀lé, àwọn tí a sá tọ̀ lọ fún ìrànlọ́wọ́ àti ìtúsílẹ̀ láti ọwọ́ ọba Asiria! Báwo ni a ó ṣe sálà?’”
