< Isaiah 1 >

1 This is the vision that Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw about Judah and Jerusalem in the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Book se inge srumun pweng ke acn Judah ac Jerusalem ma God El akkalemye nu sel Isaiah wen natul Amoz, ke pacl Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, ac Hezekiah tuh tokosra lun Judah.
2 Heavens, listen! Earth, pay attention! For the Lord has spoken! I brought up children, I cared for them, but they have rebelled against me.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Faclu ac kusrao, porongo ma nga fahk uh! Tulik ma nga tufahla elos tuyak lainyu.
3 An ox knows its owner, and a donkey knows its feeding trough; but my people don't know me, they don't understand me.
Cow uh etu lah nutin su elos, ac donkey uh etu yen kitakat elos we. A mwet luk Israel nikin lukelos. Elos tiana kalem kutu srisrik.”
4 What a sinful nation—a people carrying such a load of guilt, an evil generation, corrupt children! They have abandoned the Lord. They have despised Israel's Holy One. They have become strangers. They have gone backwards.
We nu suwos, mutunfacl se su orekma koluk. Kowos oru ma koluk ac fohkfok! Ma koluk lowos toankowosi! Kowos pilesru LEUM GOD, God mutal lun Israel, ac kowos ngetla lukel.
5 Are you wanting to be punished? Are you going to continue to rebel? The whole of your head is damaged, and your heart is totally giving out.
Efu ku kowos lainul na? Ya kowos lungse in kalyeiyuk kowos yohk liki meet ah? Israel, insifom afla tari ke kinet, ac insiom ac nunak lom mas na.
6 You're injured from head to toe, bruised and sore, with open wounds that haven't been cleaned or bandaged or treated with olive oil.
Insifomi na nwe ke falkom, wangin sie ipin monum fas ku wo. Kom afinyukla ke futun ac palang ac ruf. Kinet keim tiana aknasnasyeyukla ku pihpla. Wangin ono itukyang nu kac.
7 Your country has been devastated, your towns burned down, your fields stripped bare by foreigners right in front of you, as they turn it all into a wasteland.
Facl suwos uh arulana musalla, ac siti suwos uh firiryak nwe ke apatla. Kowos mutana ngetang ke mwetsac uh eisla acn suwos, ac kunausla ma nukewa.
8 The daughter of Zion is left like a shack in a vineyard, like a hut in a cucumber field, like a city under attack.
Acn Jerusalem mukena lula, sie siti kuhlusyukla — tia ku in oru kutena ma, oana luman sie lac lohm mwe lul lun mwet liyaung ima in grape ku ima in cucumber.
9 If the Lord Almighty hadn't let a few of us survive, we would have become like Sodom and Gomorrah.
LEUM GOD Kulana El funu tia lela kutu sin mwet uh in moulla, Jerusalem lukun sikiyukla oana acn Sodom ac Gomorrah.
10 Listen to what the Lord has to say, you rulers of Sodom! Pay attention to the instructions of our God, you people of Gomorrah!
Jerusalem, mwet leum lom ac mwet lom elos oana mwet Sodom ac Gomorrah. Porongo ma LEUM GOD El fahk nu suwos. Lohang nu ke ma God lasr El luti nu suwos inge.
11 What use are all your many sacrifices to me? asks the Lord. I am sick and tired of your burnt offerings of rams and the fat of sacrificial animals. I don't delight in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats!
El fahk, “Ya kowos nunku mu nga lungkin mwe kisa ma kowos oru nu sik? Alukela tari pisen sheep ma kowos furreak in mwe kisa, ac kiris ke kosro wowo nutuwos an. Nga totola ke srah in cow mukul ac sheep ac nani.
12 When you come to appear before me in worship, who asked you to proudly tramp around my courts?
Su sap kowos in use ma inge nu yuruk ke kowos tuku in alu nu sik? Nimet sifil fahsr kihmkim in kalkal sik uh!
13 Don't bring me any more meaningless offerings; your incense is offensive to me. Your new moon festivals and Sabbath observations and your calling of special religious meetings—I can't stand them because they're evil, as are your solemn assemblies.
Wangin sripen mwe sang lowos. Nga srungala foulin mwe kisa kowos isik uh. Nga tia ku in muteng Kufwen Malem Sasu lowos, Sabbath lowos, ac tukeni in alyalu lowos — ma inge nukewa kolukla ke sripen orekma koluk lowos.
14 I detest your new moon and yearly festivals with my whole being! They've become just a burden to me—I can't bear them anymore!
Nga kwase Kufwen Malem Sasu lowos ac len lulap lowos; ma ingan oana sie mwe utuk toasr su nga totola ke usya.
15 When you hold up your hands to me in prayer, I'll look away. Even though you pray many prayers, I won't pay attention to them, because your hands are full of blood.
“Ke kowos srukak pouwos in pre, nga ac fah tia ngetot nu suwos. Finne arulana yohk pre lowos, nga fah tia porongo, tuh pouwos nukla ke srah.
16 Wash yourselves and clean yourselves up. Get rid of your sins—I don't want to see them! Stop doing evil!
Oulkowosla sifacna in nasnas. Tulokinya orekma koluk ma kowos oru nga liye,
17 Learn to do good; strive for justice, condemn those who oppress others; support the rights of orphans, take up cases to defend widows.
ac srike in oru ma suwohs. Suk nununku suwohs — kasrelos su akkohsyeyuk, sang nu sin mwet mukaimtal ma fal nu selos, ac kasru enenu lun katinmas.”
18 Come on, let's argue this out, says the Lord. Even though your sins are like scarlet, they will become white like snow. Even though they are red like crimson, they will become like wool.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Inge fahsru kut in aksuwosyela ma se inge. Kowos tuhn srusrala ke ma koluk lowos, tusruktu nga fah oulkowosla in fasrfasr oana snow — finne srusra fohkfok, ac fah nasnasla oana unen sheep.
19 If you really want this, and if you do as you're told, then you yourselves will eat the best things that the land produces.
Kowos fin akosyu, kowos ac fah kang fahko wo lun acn uh.
20 But if you are defiant, and if you are rebellious, you'll be killed by the sword. This is what the Lord has declared!
A kowos fin lainyu na, kowos ac fah misa. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
21 The city that used to be faithful has turned into a prostitute! Once she operated on principles of justice and followed what was right, but now only murderers live there.
Siti se ma tuh inse pwaye meet, ekla oana moul lun sie mutan kosro. Tuh pukanten mwet suwoswos muta we meet, a inge mwet akmas mukena pa muta we.
22 Your silver has become worthless waste; you wine has been watered down.
Jerusalem, kom tuh oana silver, a inge wanginla sripom; kom tuh oana wain wowo, a inge kom oana kof.
23 Your leaders are rebels, friends of thieves. They all love bribes and want to get kickbacks. They don't defend the rights of orphans, and refuse to take cases to help widows.
Mwet kol lom uh elos lungsena alein ac elos kawukyang nu sin mwet pisrapasr. Pacl nukewa elos lungsena eis mwe sang ac mwe eyeinse. Elos tia karingin tuh nununku suwohs in orek nu sin tulik mukaimtal ac katinmas.
24 So this is what the Lord says, the Lord Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel: Ha! I will take satisfaction in punishing my enemies, by paying back those who hate me!
Ke ma inge, kom in lipsre ma LEUM GOD Kulana lun Israel El fahk nu sum: “Nga ac fah foloksak lain kom, mwet lokoalok luk, na kom fah tia sifil aklokoalokyeyu.
25 I will turn against you. I will refine you in a furnace, removing all impurities.
Nga fah srukak pouk lain kom. Nga fah aknasnasye kom oana ke osra uh aknasnasyeyuk ke e, ac eisla ma fohkfok nukewa liki kom.
26 I will give you good leaders as you used to have before, wise counselors as you had in the beginning. After that you will once again be called the City of Integrity, the Faithful City.
Nga fah sot mwet nununku ac mwet kasru su ac fah oana elos su tuh kol kowos in pacl oemeet ah. Na ac fah pangpang Jerusalem sie siti suwoswos ac pwaye nu sik.”
27 Zion will be rescued by justice, those who repent by doing right.
Ke sripen LEUM GOD El suwoswos, El ac fah molela acn Jerusalem ac mwet nukewa we su auliyak.
28 But rebels and sinners will be destroyed together, and those who abandon the Lord will die.
A El ac fah kunausla mwet nukewa su orekma koluk ac lainul. El ac fah uniya mwet nukewa su ngetla lukel.
29 You will be ashamed about how you enjoyed your pagan worship among the oak trees; you will be embarrassed because you chose the pleasure gardens of idols.
Kom ac fah mwekin lah kom tuh alu nu ke sak, ac akoalye ima uh nu ke god lusrongten.
30 As a result you will become like an oak whose leaves have withered, a dried-out garden that has no water.
Kom ac fah oana soko sak oak ma sra kac masla, ku oana sie ima ma wangin kof we.
31 Your strong people will become like tinder, and their work will become like a spark. They will burn together, and nobody will be able to put out the flames.
Oana ke mah pao uh isisyak ke sie e na srisrik, ouinge mwet su lulalfongi ku lalos ac fah kunausyukla ke sripen ma koluk lalos sifacna, ac wangin mwet ac ku in sikulya.
