Hosea 5
1 Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, members of the royal family!
»Vernehmt dieses, ihr Priester, und merkt auf, ihr vom Hause Israel! Und ihr (Herren) vom Hofe des Königs, gebt acht! Denn euch steht das Gericht bevor, weil ihr eine Schlinge für Mizpa geworden seid und ein ausgespanntes Fangnetz auf dem Thabor
2 Judgment belongs with you because you have been a snare set at Mizpah and a net spread out on Tabor. You dug a deep trap in Shittim, but I will punish you for all these things you have done.
und eine tiefe Fallgrube zu Sittim; ich aber werde für sie alle eine Zuchtrute werden!
3 I know Ephraim very well, and Israel cannot hide from me, for now Ephraim is a prostitute and Israel is defiled.
Ich kenne Ephraim wohl, und Israel ist mir nicht verborgen; denn soeben erst hast du Ehebruch getrieben, Ephraim, und Israel hat sich verunreinigt.
4 Your actions stop you from coming back to your God for a spirit of prostitution is within you and you do not know the Lord.
Ihr ganzes Tun gestattet ihnen nicht, zu ihrem Gott umzukehren; denn der Geist der Abgötterei wohnt in ihrem Herzen, und Erkenntnis des HERRN besitzen sie nicht.«
5 Israel's pride speaks against them, right in the face. Israel and Ephraim will stumble because of their guilt, and Judah will stumble along with them.
So legt denn der Hochmut Israels offen Zeugnis gegen ihn ab, und Ephraim kommt durch seine Verschuldung zu Fall; es wird auch Juda mit ihnen zu Fall kommen.
6 They will go to seek the Lord with their herds and flocks, but they will not find him, for he has given up on them.
Mit ihrem Kleinvieh und ihren Rindern kommen sie zwar, um den HERRN zu suchen, werden ihn aber nicht finden: er hat sich von ihnen losgesagt.
7 They have been unfaithful to the Lord and have had children that are not his. Now the New Moon will destroy them along with their fields.
Sie haben Treubruch gegen den HERRN begangen, denn sie haben ein Geschlecht von unechten Kindern gezeugt; nunmehr wird das Neumondsopferfest sie verzehren mitsamt ihrem Erbbesitz.
8 Blow the horn in Gibeah! Sound the trumpet in Ramah! Shout an alarm in Beth-aven! Lead the way, Benjamin!
»Stoßt in die Posaune zu Gibea, in die Trompete zu Rama! Schlagt Lärm in Beth-Awen, setzt Benjamin in Schrecken!
9 Ephraim will be left desolate on the day of punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I will reveal what is the real truth.
Ephraim wird zur Einöde werden am Tage des Strafgerichts; was ich den Stämmen Israels angekündigt habe, trifft unfehlbar ein!
10 The rulers of Judah have become thieves like those who illegally move boundaries. I will pour out my anger like water upon them.
Judas Fürsten sind wie Leute geworden, welche die Grenzsteine verrücken: über sie lasse ich meinen Zorn sich ergießen wie Wasser.
11 The people of Ephraim are crushed, smashed to pieces in judgment because they were determined to follow human commands.
Unterdrückt ist Ephraim, zerschlagen vom Strafgericht, weil es ihm beliebte, hinter dem Nichtigen herzulaufen.
12 I am like a maggot to Ephraim, and like something rotten to the people of Judah.
Ich aber bin für Ephraim wie die Motte gewesen und für das Haus Juda wie Wurmfraß.
13 When Ephraim saw how sick they were, and Judah saw how wounded they were, Ephraim turned to the great king of Assyria for help, but he could not heal them or cure their wounds.
Als nun Ephraim seine Krankheit erkannte und Juda seine eiternde Wunde, da wandte Ephraim sich an Assyrien, und das Reich Juda sandte zum Großkönig; der aber vermag euch nicht gesund zu machen und wird eure eiternde Wunde nicht heilen;
14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a fierce lion to the people of Judah. I will come and tear them to pieces, and carry them off, and no one will be able to rescue them.
denn ich trete gegen Ephraim auf wie ein Löwe und gegen das Haus Juda wie ein junger Leu: ich, ich zerreiße und gehe davon, trage (den Raub) hinweg, ohne daß jemand Rettung bringen kann.«
15 Then I will leave and return to where I came from until they acknowledge their wrongs, and in their distress they will seek my face and beg for my help.”
