Hosea 4
1 Hear the word of the Lord, people of Israel, for the Lord has an accusation against the inhabitants of the land! “There is no faithfulness, no loyalty, and no knowledge of God in the land.
ऐ बनी इस्राईल ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम सुनों क्यूँकि इस मुल्क में रहने वालों से ख़ुदावन्द का झगड़ा है; क्यूँकि ये मुल्क रास्ती — ओ — शफ़क़त, और ख़ुदाशनासी से ख़ाली है।
2 Instead there is only cursing, lying, murdering, stealing, and adultery. They commit violence, and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
बदज़बानी वा'दा ख़िलाफ़ी और खु़ँरेज़ी और चोरी और हरामकारी के अलावा और कुछ नहीं होता; वह जु़ल्म करते हैं, और खू़न पर खू़न होता है।
3 As a result the land dries up, and everyone who lives there is wasting away, along with the wild animals and the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea—they are all dying.
इसलिए मुल्क मातम करेगा, और उसके तमाम रहने वाले जंगली जानवरों, और हवा के परिन्दों के साथ नातवाँ हो जाएँगे; बल्कि समन्दर की मछलियाँ भी ग़ायब हो जाएँगी।
4 But no one should accuse or blame anyone else. My quarrel is with you the priests—you are the ones responsible.
तोभी कोई दूसरे के साथ बहस न करे, और न कोई उसे इल्ज़ाम दे; क्यूँकि तेरे लोग उनकी तरह हैं, जो काहिन से बहस करते हैं।
5 Consequently you will stumble in daylight, and the prophet will stumble together with you in the night, and I will destroy your mother.
इसलिए तू दिन को गिर पड़ेगा, और तेरे साथ नबी भी रात को गिरेगा; और मैं तेरी माँ को तबाह करूँगा।
6 My people are dying because they don't know me. Because you have refused to know me, I refuse to accept you as my priests. You have forgotten my teachings, so I will forget your children.
मेरे लोग 'अदम — ए — मा'रिफ़त से हलाक हुए; चूँकि तू ने ज़रिए' को रद्द किया, इसलिए मैं भी तुझे रद्द करूँगा ताकि तू मेरे सामने काहिन न हो; और चूंकि तू अपने ख़ुदा की शरी'अत को भूल गया है, इसलिए मैं भी तेरी औलाद को भूल जाऊँगा।
7 The more there were of them, the more they sinned against me, so I will change their glory into shame.
जैसे जैसे वह बड़ते गए, मेरे ख़िलाफ़ ज़्यादा गुनाह करने लगे; फिर मैं उनकी हश्मत को रुस्वाई से बदल डालूँगा।
8 They feed on the sin of my people, greedy for their iniquity.
वह मेरे लोगों के गुनाह पर गुज़रान करते हैं; और उनकी बदकिरदारी के आरज़ूमंद हैं।
9 So it will be for the people like the priests: I will punish them for what they have done, repaying them for their actions.
फिर जैसा लोगों का हाल, वैसा ही काहिनों का हाल होगा; मैं उनके चालचलन की सज़ा और उनके 'आमाल का बदला उनको दूँगा।
10 They will eat, but they will not be satisfied; they will engage in prostitution, but they will not prosper because they have given up on the Lord to go and prostitute themselves to other gods.
चूँकि उनको ख़ुदावन्द का ख़याल नहीं, इसलिए वह खाएँगे, पर आसूदा न होंगे; वह बदकारी करेंगे, लेकिन ज़्यादा न होंगे।
11 They destroy their minds with old wine and new wine.
बदकारी और मय और नई मय से बसीरत जाती रहती है।
12 My people consult their wooden idols and their divining rods give them answers, for a spirit of prostitution makes them go astray. Prostituting themselves, they have deserted their God.
मेरे लोग अपने काठ के पुतले से सवाल करते हैं उनकी लाठी उनको जवाब देती है। क्यूँकि बदकारी की रूह ने उनको गुमराह किया है, और अपने ख़ुदा की पनाह को छोड़ कर बदकारी करते हैं।
13 They offer sacrifices on the tops of mountains; they burn incense in the hills under the oak, poplar, and terebinth trees where the shade is pleasant. That's the reason why your daughters practice prostitution and your daughters-in-law commit adultery.
पहाड़ों की चोटियों पर वह कु़र्बानियाँ और टीलों पर और बलूत — ओ — चिनार — ओ — बतम के नीचे खु़शबू जलाते हैं, क्यूँकि उनका साया अच्छा है। पस बहू बेटियाँ बदकारी करती हैं।
14 I will not punish your daughters when they practice prostitution, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery, because you men visit whores and sacrifice with temple prostitutes. A people who lack understanding end up in disaster.
जब तुम्हारी बहू बेटियाँ बदकारी करेंगी, तो मैं उनको सज़ा नहीं दूँगा; क्यूँकि वह आप ही बदकारों के साथ खि़ख़िल्वत में जाते हैं, और कस्बियों के साथ क़ुर्बानियाँ गुज़रानते हैं। तब जो लोग 'अक़्ल से ख़ाली हैं, बर्बाद किए जाएँगे।
15 Though you, Israel, have become a prostitute, may Judah not offend in the same way and not enter Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear saying, ‘the Lord lives.’
ऐ इस्राईल, अगरचे तू बदकारी करे, तोभी ऐसा न हो कि यहूदाह भी गुनहगार हो। तुम जिल्जाल में न आओ और बैतआवन पर न जाओ, और ख़ुदावन्द की हयात की क़सम न खाओ।
16 For Israel is as stubborn as a stubborn cow. Should the Lord then take care of them like a lamb in a wide pasture?
क्यूँकि इस्राईल ने सरकश बछिया की तरह सरकशी की है; क्या अब ख़ुदावन्द उनको कुशादा जगह में बर्रे की तरह चराएगा?
17 Ephraim is bewitched by idols, so leave him alone!
इफ़्राईम बुतों से मिल गया है; उसे छोड़ दो।
18 Once the leaders finish drinking, they go off and find prostitutes to sleep with. They love their shameful acts more than honor.
वह मयख़्वारी से सेर होकर बदकारी में मशग़ूल होते हैं; उसके हाकिम रुस्वाई दोस्त हैं।
19 A wind will carry them away; they will be ashamed of their pagan worship.
हवा ने उसे अपने दामन में उठा लिया, वह अपनी कु़र्बानियों से शर्मिन्दा होंगे।
