< Hosea 11 >

1 I loved Israel when he was a child. He's my son I called out of Egypt.
”Idi agtutubo pay laeng ti Israel, inayatko isuna ket inawagak ti anakko manipud iti Egipto.
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed to the Baals and offered incense to idols.
No ad-adda a maay-ayabanda, ad-adda met nga umad-adayoda. Nagidatonda kadagiti Baal ken nagpuorda iti insenso kadagiti didiosen.
3 I myself taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by the hand, but they didn't realize I was the one who healed them.
Nupay kasta, siak ti nangisuro iti Efraim a magna. Siak ti nangay-aywan kadakuada, ngem saanda nga ammo nga inay-aywanak ida.
4 I led them along with cords of kindness, with ropes of love. I was the one who eased their burden and bent down to feed them.
Indalanko ida babaen iti asi ken panagayat. Nagbalinak idi a kas iti maysa a tao a nangpalukay iti bosal kadagiti sangida ket nagrukobak a nangpakan kadakuada.
5 However, because my people refuse to return to me, they will not return to the land of Egypt but Assyria shall be their king.
Saandanto kadi nga agsubli iti daga ti Egipto? Saandanto kadi nga iturayan ti Asiria gapu ta agkedkedda nga agsubli kaniak?
6 War will sweep through their cities, putting an end to their boasting and destroying their plans.
Agtinnagto ti kampilan kadagiti siudadda ket dadaelen daytoy ti balunet dagiti ruanganda; dadaelento daytoy ida gapu kadagiti bukodda a panggep.
7 My people are hanging on to their apostasy from me. They call him “god on high” but he will not raise them up at all.
Ingkeddeng dagiti tattaok a tumallikod kaniak. Uray no umawagda kaniak, siak nga adda idiay ngato, awanto ti mangtulong kadakuada.
8 How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I let you go, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is breaking; I am full of compassion.
Kasano a baybay-anka, Efraim? Kasano nga iyawatka, Israel? Kasano a pagbalinenka a kas iti Adma? Kasano a pagbalinenka a kas iti Zeboim? Nagbaliw ti pusok iti kaunggak; simken ti amin nga asik.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of my anger, I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God, not a human being. I am the Holy One living among you. I will not enter your cities.
Saankon nga ipatungpal ti rungsot ti pungtotko; saankon a dadaelen manen ti Efraim. Ta siak ket Dios a saan ket a tao; siak ti Nasantoan kadakayo, ket saanak nga umay a sipupungtot.
10 The people will follow me, the Lord. He will roar like a lion. When he roars like a lion then his children will come trembling from the west.
Magnadanto a sumurot kaniak, a ni Yahweh. Agngerngerakto a kas iti leon. Pudno nga agngerngerakto, ket umayto nga agtigtigerger dagiti tattao manipud iti laud.
11 Like a flock of frightened birds they will come from Egypt, like doves they will come from Assyria, and I will bring them back home, declares the Lord.
Umaydanto nga agtigtigerger a kas iti billit manipud idiay Egipto, kas iti kalapati manipud iti daga ti Asiria. Pagnaedekto ida kadagiti pagtaenganda.” Daytoy ti pakaammo ni Yahweh.
12 Ephraim surrounds me with lies and Israel with deceit, and Judah still wanders with some deity, faithful to some “Holy One.”
“Linikmutnak ti Efraim iti kinaulbod ken ti balay ti Israel iti panangallilaw. Ngem agtaltalinaedto latta ti Juda kaniak, a Dios, ket napudnoda kaniak, a Nasantoan.”
