Haggai 2
1 On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the Lord sent a message through the prophet Haggai.
૧સાતમા માસના એકવીસમા દિવસે હાગ્ગાય પ્રબોધકની મારફતે યહોવાહનું વચન આવ્યું કે,
2 Say to Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remaining people,
૨હવે યહૂદિયાના રાજકર્તા શાલ્તીએલના દીકરા ઝરુબ્બાબેલને તથા પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોસાદાકના દીકરા યહોશુઆને તથા બાકી રહેલા લોકોને કહે કે,
3 Is there anyone left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it seem like nothing to you?
૩‘શું આ સભાસ્થાનનો અગાઉનો વૈભવ જોનારાઓમાંનો કોઈ તમારામાં જીવતો રહ્યો છે? હમણાં તમે તેને કેવી હાલતમાં જુઓ છો? શું તે તમારી નજરમાં શૂન્યવત્ નથી?
4 So then be strong, Zerubbabel! Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, high priest! Be strong, all you people who remain in the land! Work, for I am with you, says the Lord Almighty.
૪હવે, યહોવાહ કહે છે, હે ઝરુબ્બાબેલ, બળવાન થા’ હે યહોસાદાકના દીકરા પ્રમુખ યાજક યહોશુઆ, ‘બળવાન થા;’ યહોવાહ કહે છે, હે દેશના સર્વ લોકો!’ તમે બળવાન થાઓ ‘અને કામ કરો કેમ કે હું તમારી સાથે છું,’ આ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે.
5 Just as I promised you when you left Egypt, my Spirit continues to be among you. Don't be afraid!
૫જ્યારે તમે મિસરમાંથી બહાર આવ્યા ત્યારે તમારી સાથે કરાર કરીને જે વચનો સ્થાપ્યાં તે પ્રમાણે, મારો આત્મા તમારી મધ્યે છે. તમે બીશો નહિ.’
6 This is what the Lord Almighty says: Soon I will shake the heavens and the earth once more, and the sea and the dry land.
૬કેમ કે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે, ‘થોડી જ વારમાં હું આકાશ, પૃથ્વી, સમુદ્ર તથા સૂકી ધરતીને હલાવું છું.
7 I will shake all the nations, and the one desired by all of the nations will come and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty.
૭અને હું બધી પ્રજાઓને હલાવીશ, દરેક પ્રજા તેઓની કિંમતી વસ્તુઓ મારી પાસે લાવશે, અને આ સભાસ્થાનને હું ગૌરવથી ભરી દઈશ. સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty.
૮સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે, ચાંદી તથા સોનું મારું છે.
9 The glory of this second house will be greater than the first, says the Lord Almighty, and I will bring peace in this place. So declares the Lord Almighty.
૯‘સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે, આ સભાસ્થાનનું ભૂતકાળનું ગૌરવ તેની શરૂઆતના ગૌરવ કરતાં વધારે હશે, ‘અને આ જગ્યામાં હું સુલેહ શાંતિ આપીશ. એવું સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે.”
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of the reign of king Darius, the Lord sent a message through the prophet Haggai.
૧૦દાર્યાવેશના બીજા વર્ષના નવમા માસના ચોવીસમાં દિવસે હાગ્ગાય પ્રબોધક મારફતે યહોવાહનું વચન આવ્યું કે,
11 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: Ask the priests about the law.
૧૧સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ કહે છે ‘યાજકોને નિયમશાસ્ત્ર વિષે પૂછ.
12 If someone carries some meat from a holy sacrifice in a fold of their clothes and that fold touches some bread or stew or wine or olive oil or any other kind of food, does that food become holy?” And the priests answered, “No.”
૧૨જો તમારામાંનો કોઈ પોતાના પહેરેલા વસ્ત્રમાં પવિત્ર માંસને બાંધીને લઈ જતો હોય અને જો તે રોટલી, ભાજી, દ્રાક્ષારસ, તેલ કે બીજા કોઈ ખોરાકને અડકે તો શું તે પવિત્ર થાય?” યાજકોએ જવાબ આપ્યો કે, “ના.”
13 Then Haggai asked, “If someone becomes unclean by touching a dead body and then touches any of these foods, do they become unclean?” The priests answered, “Yes, it does become unclean.”
૧૩ત્યારે હાગ્ગાયે કહ્યું, “જો કોઈ માણસ શબને અડકવાથી અશુદ્ધ થયો હોય અને આ વસ્તુઓને અડે તો શું તે અશુદ્ધ ગણાય?” ત્યારે યાજકોએ જવાબ આપ્યો કે, “હા, તેઓ અશુદ્ધ ગણાય.”
14 Then Haggai responded, “This is how it is with these people, and with the nation before me, says the Lord. All that they do, every offering they bring, is unclean.”
૧૪હાગ્ગાયે કહ્યું, “યહોવાહ કહે છે કે “મારી આગળ આ લોકો અને આ પ્રજા એવા જ છે.’ તેઓના હાથનાં કામો એવાં જ છે, અને તેઓ જે કંઈ અર્પણ કરે છે તે અશુદ્ધ છે.”
15 Now think about what you're doing from this day on. Before a stone was laid on another stone in the house of the Lord,
૧૫હવે, કૃપા કરીને આજથી માંડીને વીતેલા વખતનો, એટલે યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાનના પથ્થર પર પથ્થર મૂકવામાં આવ્યો હતો તે અગાઉના વખતનો વિચાર કરો,
16 how was it for you? You expected a store of grain with twenty measures but only found ten. You thought you could empty out fifty measures from the winepress but there was only twenty.
૧૬જ્યારે કોઈ વીસ માપ અનાજના ઢગલા પાસે આવતો, ત્યાં તેને માત્ર દશ જ માપ મળતાં, જ્યારે કોઈ દ્રાક્ષકુંડ પાસે પચાસ માપ કાઢવા આવતો ત્યારે ત્યાંથી તેને માત્ર વીસ જ મળતાં.
17 I struck with blight and mildew and hail everything you were working so hard for, but even so you refused to come back to me, says the Lord.
૧૭યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે કે તમારા હાથોનાં બધાં કાર્યોમાં મેં તમને લૂથી તથા ઝાકળથી દુઃખી કર્યા, પણ તમે મારી તરફ પાછા ફર્યા નહિ.’”
18 Think about what you're doing from this day on, today the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month when a foundation was laid for the house of the Lord. Think about it:
૧૮‘આજથી અગાઉના દિવસોનો વિચાર કરો, નવમા માસના ચોવીસમાં દિવસે, એટલે કે જે દિવસે યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાનનો પાયો નાખવામાં આવ્યો હતો. તેનો વિચાર કરો!
19 the seed is still in the barn. The vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate tree, and the olive tree have not yet given fruit. But from this day on I will bless you.
૧૯શું હજી સુધી કોઠારમાં બી છે? દ્રાક્ષાવેલો, અંજીરીઓ, દાડમડીઓ તથા જૈતૂનના વૃક્ષો હજી ફળ્યાં નથી, પણ આજથી હું તમને આશીર્વાદ આપીશ.’”
20 The Lord sent another message through the prophet Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month:
૨૦તે જ માસના ચોવીસમાં દિવસે, ફરીવાર યહોવાહનું વચન હાગ્ગાય પ્રબોધકની પાસે આવ્યું અને કહ્યું,
21 Tell Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.
૨૧યહૂદિયાના રાજકર્તા ઝરુબ્બાબેલને કહે કે, ‘હું આકાશોને તથા પૃથ્વીને હલાવીશ.
22 I will overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the nations' kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots and their riders. The horses and riders will fall, and the men will kill each other by the sword.
૨૨કેમ કે હું રાજ્યાસનો ઉથલાવી નાખીશ અને હું પ્રજાઓનાં રાજ્યોની શક્તિનો નાશ કરીશ. હું તેઓના રથોને તથા તેમાં સવારી કરનારાઓને ઉથલાવી નાખીશ. તેઓના ઘોડાઓ તથા સવારો દરેક પોતાના ભાઈની તલવારથી નીચે ઢળી પડશે.
23 On that day, says the Lord, I will take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, my servant, and make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you. So declares the Lord Almighty.
૨૩તે દિવસે’ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે’ મારા સેવક, શાલ્તીએલના દીકરા, ઝરુબ્બાબેલ હું તને પસંદ કરીશ. ‘હું તને મારી મુદ્રારૂપ બનાવીશ, કેમ કે મેં તને પસંદ કર્યો છે.’ ‘એવું સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ કહે છે!”
