Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
ആദിയിൽ ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the surface of the deep. The Spirit of God moved over the surface of the waters.
ഭൂമി പാഴായും ശൂന്യമായും ഇരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വെള്ളത്തിൻ മീതെ പരിവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
3 God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light.
വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.
4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു; ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു.
5 God called the light “day,” and he called the darkness “night.” So there was evening, and then the morning, making day one.
ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു പകൽ എന്നും ഇരുളിന്നു രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.
6 God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters to divide the waters.”
ദൈവം: വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്നും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
7 So God made an expanse to divide the waters that were above from the waters that were below. And that's what happened.
വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടു ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിൻ മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
8 God called the expanse, “sky.” So there was evening, and then the morning, making day two.
ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്നു ആകാശം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാം ദിവസം.
9 God said, “Let the waters below the sky collect together in one place so that the land may appear.” And so it was.
ദൈവം: ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
10 God called the land “earth” and the waters “seas.” God saw that it was good.
ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
11 God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation—plants that produce seeds and trees that produce seeded fruit—each one according to its own kind.” And that's what happened.
ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയിൽ അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
12 The earth produced vegetation—plants that produce seeds and trees that produce seeded fruit—each one according to its own kind. God saw that it was good.
ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു പുല്ലും അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
13 So there was evening, and then the morning, making day three.
സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസം.
14 God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to separate day from night, and to provide a way to mark seasons, days, and years.
പകലും രാവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ വെളിച്ചങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും കാലം, ദിവസം, സംവത്സരം എന്നിവ തിരിച്ചറിവാനായും ഉതകട്ടെ;
15 They shall be lights in the sky to shine on the earth.” And that's what happened.
ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
16 God created two great lights: the larger one in charge of the day, and the smaller one in charge of the night. He created the stars too.
പകൽ വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
17 God placed these lights in the sky to shine upon the earth,
ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും വാഴുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിപ്പാനുമായി
18 to be in charge of the day and in charge of the night, and to separate light from darkness. God saw that it was good.
ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ നിർത്തി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
19 So there was evening, and then the morning, making day four.
സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.
20 God said, “Let the waters be full of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the sky.”
വെള്ളത്തിൽ ജലജന്തുക്കൾ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിക്കട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.
21 So God created huge sea creatures and all the living things that swim and fill the waters, each one according to its own kind; and every bird that flies, each one according to its own kind. God saw that it was good.
ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തിൽ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതതു തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതതു തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
22 God blessed them and said, “Reproduce and increase, and fill the waters of the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
നിങ്ങൾ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിറവിൻ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയിൽ പെരുകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
23 So there was evening, and then the morning, making day five.
സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.
24 God said, “Let the land produce living creatures, each one according to its own kind—the livestock, the creatures that run along the ground, and the wild animals, each one according to its own kind.” And that's what happened.
അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കൾ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നുളവാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
25 God made the wild animals, the livestock, and the creatures that run along the ground, all according to their own kind. God saw that it was good.
ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതതു തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.
26 God said, “Let us make human beings in our image who are like us. They will have authority over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over the whole of the earth and every creature that moves on it.”
അനന്തരം ദൈവം: നാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; അവർ സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും മൃഗങ്ങളിന്മേലും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും വാഴട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
27 So God created human beings in his own image. He created them in the image of God. He created them male and female.
ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.
28 God blessed them and told them, “Reproduce, increase, and spread throughout the earth and control it; exercise authority over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the earth.”
ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.
29 God said, “Look, I'm giving you as your food every seed-bearing plant anywhere on earth, and every tree that produces fruit with seeds.
ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;
30 I'm giving all the green plants to all the land animals, to the birds, and to every creature that moves on the earth—to every living thing.” And that's what happened.
ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിൽ ചരിക്കുന്ന സകലഭൂചരജന്തുക്കൾക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
31 God saw everything that he had created, and yes, it was very good. So there was evening, and then the morning, making day six.
താൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അതു എത്രയും നല്ലതു എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.
