< Genesis 46 >

1 So Israel left for Egypt with everything he had. When he arrived at Beersheba he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
Hivyo Israeli akaondoka na vyote vilivyokuwa mali yake, naye alipofika Beer-Sheba, akamtolea dhabihu Mungu wa Isaki baba yake.
2 During the night God spoke to Israel in a vision. “Jacob! Jacob!” he called. “I'm here,” he replied.
Mungu akanena na Israeli katika maono usiku na kusema, “Yakobo! Yakobo!” Akajibu, “Mimi hapa.”
3 “I am God, the God of your father! Don't be afraid to go to Egypt, because I will turn you and your descendants into a great nation.
Mungu akamwambia, “Mimi ndimi Mungu wa baba yako, usiogope kushuka Misri, kwa maana huko nitakufanya taifa kubwa.
4 I will go to Egypt with you, and I promise to bring you back again. And Joseph will personally close your eyes when you die.”
Nitashuka Misri pamoja nawe, nami hakika nitakurudisha tena Kanaani. Mikono ya Yosefu mwenyewe ndiyo itakayofunga macho yako.”
