Genesis 45
1 Joseph couldn't control his emotions any longer while all his attendants were there, so he shouted out, “Everybody leave me!” So there was nobody else there when Joseph revealed who he was to his brothers.
Da konnte Joseph sich nicht mehr bezwingen vor allen, die um ihn standen, und er rief: Laßt jedermann von mir hinausgehen! Und es stand niemand bei ihm, als Joseph sich seinen Brüdern zu erkennen gab.
2 But he cried so loudly that the Egyptians could hear him, and they told Pharaoh's household about it.
Und er erhob seine Stimme mit Weinen; und die Ägypter hörten es, und das Haus des Pharao hörte es.
3 “I'm Joseph!” he announced to his brothers. “Is my father still alive?” They couldn't answer him as they were so surprised to see him face to face.
Und Joseph sprach zu seinen Brüdern: Ich bin Joseph. Lebt mein Vater noch? Und seine Brüder konnten ihm nicht antworten, denn sie waren bestürzt [O. schraken zurück] vor ihm.
4 “Please come closer to me,” he told his brothers. They came over to him. “I'm your brother Joseph who you sold into slavery in Egypt.
Da sprach Joseph zu seinen Brüdern: Tretet doch zu mir her! Und sie traten herzu. Und er sprach: Ich bin Joseph, euer Bruder, den ihr nach Ägypten verkauft habt.
5 But don't be worried or get angry with yourselves that you sold me to be a slave here, because it was God who sent me ahead of you to save lives.
Und nun betrübet euch nicht, und es entbrenne nicht in euren Augen, daß ihr mich hierher verkauft habt; denn zur Erhaltung des Lebens hat Gott mich vor euch hergesandt.
6 The country has suffered from famine for two years already, but there will be five more years with no plowing or reaping.
Denn schon zwei Jahre ist die Hungersnot im Lande, und noch sind fünf Jahre, daß kein Pflügen noch Ernten sein wird.
7 God sent me ahead of you to make sure you would still have descendants, to save your lives in this miraculous way.
Und Gott hat mich vor euch hergesandt, um euch einen Überrest zu setzen auf Erden und euch am Leben zu erhalten für [And.: durch] eine große Errettung.
8 So it wasn't you who sent me here, but God. He was the one who made me Pharaoh's chief advisor in charge of all his affairs, and ruler of the whole country of Egypt.
Und nun, nicht ihr habt mich hierher gesandt, sondern Gott; und er hat mich zum Vater des Pharao gemacht und zum Herrn seines ganzen Hauses und zum Herrscher über das ganze Land Ägypten.
9 Now hurry! Go back to my father and tell him, ‘This message comes from your son Joseph: God has made me the ruler of the whole of Egypt. Come to me now; don't wait.
Eilet und ziehet hinauf zu meinem Vater und sprechet zu ihm: So spricht dein Sohn Joseph: Gott hat mich zum Herrn von ganz Ägypten gemacht; komm zu mir herab, säume nicht!
10 You'll live in the land of Goshen so you can be close to me with your children and grandchildren, and with your flocks and herds and everything that belongs to you.
Und du sollst im Lande Gosen wohnen und nahe bei mir sein, du und deine Söhne und die Söhne deiner Söhne und dein Kleinvieh und deine Rinder und alles was du hast.
11 I'll make sure you have food, because there are still five more years of famine to come. Otherwise you and your family and your animals are going to starve.’”
Und ich will dich daselbst versorgen, denn noch fünf Jahre ist Hungersnot; daß du nicht verarmest, du und dein Haus und alles, was du hast.
12 Then Joseph told his brothers, “You can all see for yourselves—including my brother Benjamin—that it's really me talking to you!
Und siehe, eure Augen sehen es und die Augen meines Bruders Benjamin, daß mein Mund es ist, der zu euch redet.
13 Tell my father how much I'm respected in Egypt. Tell him everything that you've seen. Hurry! Bring my father here quickly!”
Und berichtet meinem Vater alle meine Herrlichkeit in Ägypten und alles was ihr gesehen habt; und eilet und bringet meinen Vater hierher herab.
14 He hugged Benjamin, and Benjamin hugged him back. They both wept for joy.
Und er fiel seinem Bruder Benjamin um den Hals und weinte; und Benjamin weinte an seinem Halse.
15 He kissed all his brothers and wept over them, and after that his brothers were able to start talking with him.
Und er küßte alle seine Brüder und weinte an ihnen; und danach redeten seine Brüder mit ihm.
16 Word soon reached Pharaoh's palace that Joseph's brothers had arrived. Pharaoh and his officials were glad to hear the news.
Und das Gerücht wurde im Hause des Pharao gehört, indem man sprach: Josephs Brüder sind gekommen! Und es war gut in den Augen des Pharao und in den Augen seiner Knechte.
17 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘This is what you are to do: Load your donkeys with grain and go back to the country of Canaan.
Und der Pharao sprach zu Joseph: Sage deinen Brüdern: Tut dieses: Beladet eure Tiere und ziehet hin, gehet nach dem Lande Kanaan,
18 Then bring your father and your families and return here to me. I will give you the best land in Egypt, and you shall eat the best food the country has to offer.’
und nehmet euren Vater und eure Haushaltungen und kommet zu mir; und ich will euch das Beste des Landes Ägypten geben, und ihr sollt das Fett des Landes essen.
19 Tell them to do this as well, ‘Take some wagons from Egypt for your children and your wives. Bring them and your father here.
Und du bist beauftragt: Tut dieses: Nehmet euch aus dem Lande Ägypten Wagen für eure Kinder und für eure Weiber, und holet euren Vater und kommet.
20 Don't worry about bringing your possessions because the best of all Egypt is yours.’”
Und laßt es euch nicht leid sein um euren Hausrat, denn das Beste des ganzen Landes Ägypten soll euer sein.
21 So that's what the sons of Israel did. Joseph provided them with wagons, as Pharaoh had ordered. He also gave them supplies for their journey.
Und die Söhne Israels taten also, und Joseph gab ihnen Wagen nach dem Befehl des Pharao und gab ihnen Zehrung auf den Weg.
22 He gave each of them new clothes. But to Benjamin he gave five sets of clothes and 300 pieces of silver.
Er gab ihnen allen, einem jeden, Wechselkleider, und Benjamin gab er dreihundert Silbersekel und fünf Wechselkleider.
23 Joseph also sent to his father the following: ten donkeys carrying the best things from Egypt, and ten female donkeys carrying grain and bread and supplies needed for his father's journey.
Und seinem Vater sandte er dieses: [O. desgleichen] zehn Esel, beladen mit dem Besten Ägyptens, und zehn Eselinnen, beladen mit Getreide und Brot und Nahrung für seinen Vater auf den Weg.
24 Then he saw his brothers off, and as they left he told them, “Don't argue on the way!”
Und er entließ seine Brüder, und sie zogen hin; und er sprach zu ihnen: Erzürnet euch nicht auf dem Wege!
25 So they left Egypt and went back home to their father Jacob in the country of Canaan.
Und sie zogen aus Ägypten hinauf und kamen in das Land Kanaan zu ihrem Vater Jakob.
26 “Joseph's still alive!” they told him. “It's true, and he's the ruler of the whole country of Egypt!” Jacob was stunned at the news—he just couldn't believe it!
Und sie berichteten ihm und sprachen: Joseph lebt noch, und er ist Herrscher über das ganze Land Ägypten. Da erstarrte sein Herz, denn er glaubte ihnen nicht.
27 But when they told him everything that Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to take him to Egypt, Jacob came back to his senses.
Und sie redeten zu ihm alle Worte Josephs, die er zu ihnen geredet hatte; und er sah die Wagen, die Joseph gesandt hatte, ihn zu holen. Und der Geist ihres Vaters Jakob lebte auf;
28 Israel said, “All right, I believe you! My son Joseph is still alive! I'm going to go and see him before I die.”
und Israel sprach: Genug! Joseph, mein Sohn, lebt noch! Ich will hinziehen und ihn sehen, ehe ich sterbe.
