Genesis 19
1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening. Lot happened to be sitting at the entrance to Sodom, and when he saw them he stood up to meet them, and bowed low with his face to the ground.
А увече дођоше два анђела у Содом; а Лот сеђаше на вратима содомским; и кад их угледа, устаде те их срете, и поклони се лицем до земље,
2 “Sirs, please come and stay with me for the night,” he said. “You can wash your feet and then be on your way early in the morning.” They replied, “No, it's fine. We'll spend the night here in the square.”
И рече: Ходите, господо, у кућу слуге свог, и преноћите и оперите ноге своје; па сутра рано кад устанете пођите својим путем. А они рекоше: Не, него ћемо преноћити на улици.
3 But Lot insisted, and they went with him to his house. He made them a meal and baked bread for them to eat.
Али он навали на њих, те се увратише к њему и уђоше у кућу његову, и он их угости, и испече хлебова пресних, и једоше.
4 But they hadn't even gone to bed before the men of Sodom, young and old, from every part of town, came and surrounded the house.
И још не беху легли, а грађани Содомљани слегоше се око куће, старо и младо, сав народ са свих крајева,
5 They shouted out to Lot, “Where are the men who came to stay with you tonight? Bring them out here to us so we can have sex with them.”
И викаху Лота и говораху му: Где су људи што дођоше синоћ к теби? Изведи их к нама да их познамо.
6 Lot went out to talk to them in the doorway, closing the door behind him.
А Лот изиђе к њима пред врата затворивши врата за собом,
7 “My friends, please don't do such an evil thing!
И рече им: Немојте, браћо, чинити зла.
8 Listen, I've got two virgin daughters. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do to them whatever you want, but please don't do anything to these men. It's my responsibility to look after them.”
Ево имам две кћери, које још не познаше човека; њих ћу вам извести, па чините с њима шта вам је воља; само не дирајте у ове људе, јер су зато ушли под мој кров.
9 “Out of our way!” they shouted. “Who do you think you are, coming to live here and now trying to judge us? We'll do even worse things to you than we were going to do to these men!” They rushed forward at Lot and tried to break down the door.
А они рекоше: Ходи амо. Па онда рекоше: Овај је сам дошао амо да живи као дошљак, па још хоће да нам суди; сад ћемо теби учинити горе него њима. Па навалише јако на човека, на Лота, и стадоше истављати врата.
10 But the men inside reached out and grabbed Lot, dragged him inside, and slammed the door shut.
А она два човека дигоше руке, и увукоше Лота себи у кућу, и затворише врата.
11 Then they made all the men in the doorway, young and old, suddenly go blind so they couldn't find the door.
А људе што беху пред вратима кућним уједанпут ослепише од најмањег до највећег, те не могаху наћи врата.
12 The two men asked Lot, “Is there anyone else here who's part of your family—sons-in-law, or sons or daughters, or anyone else in the town? If there are, make sure they leave,
Тада она два човека рекоше Лоту: Ако имаш овде још кога свог, или зета или сина или кћер, или кога год свог у овом граду, гледај нек иду одавде;
13 because we are about to destroy this place. The complaints that have reached the Lord about its people have become so bad that he has sent us to destroy it.”
Јер хоћемо да затремо место ово, јер је вика њихова велика пред Господом, па нас посла Господ да га затремо.
14 Lot went immediately to speak to the men who were engaged to marry his daughters. “Get up quickly and leave,” he said, “because the Lord is about to destroy the town!” But they thought it was just a joke.
И изиђе Лот, и каза зетовима својим, за које хтеде дати кћери своје, и рече им: Устајте, идите из места овог, јер ће сада затрти Господ град овај. Али се зетовима његовим учини да се шали.
15 At dawn, the angels begged Lot to be quick, telling him, “Hurry up! Leave right now with your wife and your two daughters here, otherwise you'll be wiped out when the city is punished.”
А кад зора забеле, навалише анђели на Лота говорећи: устани, узми жену своју, и две кћери своје које су ту, да не погинеш у безакоњу града тог.
16 But Lot hesitated. The men grabbed his hand, and those of his wife and two daughters, and dragged them along, leaving them outside the town. The Lord was kind to them to do this.
А он се стаде шчињати, те људи узеше за руку њега и жену његову и две кћери његове, јер га беше жао Господу и изведоше га и пустише га иза града.
17 As soon as they were outside, one of the men said, “Run for your lives! Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the valley! Run to the mountains otherwise you'll be destroyed!”
И кад их изведоше напоље, рече један: Избави душу своју и не обзири се натраг и у целој овој равни да ниси стао; бежи на оно брдо да не погинеш.
18 “Please sir, not that!” Lot replied.
А Лот им рече: Немој, Господе!
19 “If you don't mind, since you have already been so kind to me by saving my life, don't make me run to the mountains—I just can't make it. The destruction will overtake me and I'll die!
Гле, слуга твој нађе милост пред Тобом, и милост је Твоја превелика коју ми учини сачувавши ми живот; али не могу утећи на брдо да ме не стигне зло и не погинем.
20 Look, there's a town nearby that's close enough to run to, and it's so small. Please let me run there—it's really very small. It would save my life.”
Ено град близу; онамо се може утећи, а мали је; да бежимо онамо; та мали је, те ћу остати жив.
21 “Fine—I'll do as you ask,” he replied. “I won't destroy this town you've mentioned.
А он му рече: Ето послушаћу те и зато, и нећу затрти града, за који рече.
22 But hurry up and run there quickly, because I can't do anything until you get there.” (This is why the town was called Zoar.)
Брже бежи онамо; јер не могу чинити ништа док не стигнеш онамо. Зато се прозва онај град Сигор.
23 The sun had already risen by the time Lot reached Zoar.
И кад сунце ограну по земљи, Лот дође у Сигор.
24 Then the Lord rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah.
Тада пусти Господ на Содом и на Гомор од Господа с неба дажд од сумпора и огња,
25 He completely destroyed the towns and all their inhabitants, the whole valley and everything growing there.
И затре оне градове и сву ону раван, и све људе у градовима и род земаљски.
26 But Lot's wife, who was lagging behind, looked back, and she turned into a pillar of salt.
Али жена Лотова беше се обазрела идући за њим, и поста слан камен.
27 Abraham got up early the next morning and went back to where he had stood before the Lord.
А сутрадан рано уставши Аврам, отиде на место где је стајао пред Господом;
28 He looked down at Sodom and Gomorrah and the whole valley floor, and saw the land burning, sending up smoke like from a furnace.
И погледа на Содом и Гомор и сву околину по оној равни, и угледа, а то се дизаше дим од земље као дим из пећи.
29 When God destroyed the towns of the valley he didn't forget the promise he made Abraham, and he saved Lot from the destruction of the towns where Lot was living.
Али кад Бог затираше градове у оној равни, опомену се Бог Аврама, и изведе Лота из пропасти кад затре градове где живеше Лот.
30 Lot was afraid to stay in Zoar, so he left town and went to live in a cave in the mountains with his two daughters.
А Лот отиде из Сигора и стани се на оном брду с две кћери своје, јер се бојаше остати у Сигору; и живеше у пећини с две кћери своје.
31 Sometime later the older daughter said to the younger one, “Our father is growing old, and there's no men left to give us children like everyone does.
А старија рече млађој: Наш је отац стар, а нема никога на земљи да дође к нама, као што је обичај по свој земљи.
32 Come on, let's get our father drunk with wine and sleep with him so we can keep his family line going.”
Хајде да дамо оцу вина нека се опије, па да легнемо с њим, еда бисмо сачувале семе оцу свом.
33 So they got their father drunk with wine that night. The older daughter went and slept with him, and he didn't notice when she lay down or when she got up.
И дадоше оцу вина ону ноћ; и дошавши старија леже с оцем својим, и он не осети ни кад она леже ни кад устаде.
34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger one, “Last night I slept with our father. Let's get him drunk with wine again tonight and you can go and sleep with him so we can keep his family line going.”
А сутрадан рече старија млађој: Гле, ноћас спавах с оцем својим. Да му дамо вина и довече, па иди ти и лези с њим, еда бисмо сачувале семе оцу свом.
35 So once again that night they got their father drunk with wine and the younger daughter went and slept with him, and he didn't notice when she lay down or when she got up.
Па и то вече дадоше оцу вина, и уставши млађа леже с њим, и он не осети ни кад она леже ни кад устаде.
36 This is how both Lot's daughters became pregnant by their father.
И обе кћери Лотове затруднеше од оца свог.
37 The older daughter had a son, and she called him Moab. He is the ancestor of the Moabites of today.
И старија роди сина, и надеде му име Моав; од њега су Моавци до данашњег дана.
38 The younger daughter had a son too, and she called him Ben-ammi. He is the ancestor of the Ammonites of today.
Па и млађа роди сина, и надеде му име Вен-Амије; од њега су Амонци до данашњег дана.
