< Genesis 13 >

1 So Abram left Egypt and went back into the Negev along with Sarai, Lot, and everyone with them, as well as all their possessions.
Abramu sì gòkè láti Ejibiti lọ sí ìhà gúúsù, pẹ̀lú aya rẹ̀ àti ohun gbogbo tí ó ní àti Lọti pẹ̀lú.
2 Abram was very rich, having many herds of livestock and a great deal of silver and gold.
Abramu sì ti di ọlọ́rọ̀ gidigidi; ní ẹran ọ̀sìn, ó ní fàdákà àti wúrà.
3 He left the Negev and traveled in stages to Bethel, back to the place where he'd camped before, between Bethel and Ai.
Láti gúúsù, ó ń lọ láti ibìkan sí ibòmíràn títí ó fi dé ilẹ̀ Beteli, ní ibi tí àgọ́ rẹ̀ ti wà ní ìṣáájú rí, lágbedeméjì Beteli àti Ai.
4 This was where he'd first built an altar. He worshiped the Lord there as he had done previously.
Ní ibi pẹpẹ tí ó ti tẹ́ síbẹ̀ ní ìṣáájú, níbẹ̀ ni Abramu sì ń ké pe orúkọ Olúwa.
5 Lot, who was traveling with Abram, also had many flocks, herds, and tents,
Àti Lọti pẹ̀lú, tí ó ń bá Abramu rìn kiri, ní agbo ẹran, ọ̀wọ́ ẹran àti àgọ́.
6 so much so that the available land couldn't support both of them—they had so much livestock they couldn't stay together anymore.
Ṣùgbọ́n ilẹ̀ náà kò le gbà wọ́n tí wọ́n bá ń gbé pọ̀, nítorí, ohun ìní wọn pọ̀ tó bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́ẹ́, dé bi wí pé wọn kò le è gbé pọ̀.
7 Abram's and Lot's herdsmen were arguing, and in addition the Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.
Èdè-àìyedè sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ láàrín àwọn darandaran Abramu àti ti Lọti. Àwọn ará Kenaani àti àwọn ará Peresi sì ń gbé ní ilẹ̀ náà nígbà náà.
8 So Abram said to Lot, “Please don't let's have arguments between us, or between our herdsmen, because we're family.
Abramu sì wí fún Lọti pé, “Èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, má ṣe jẹ́ kí èdè-àìyedè kí ó wà láàrín èmi àti ìrẹ, àti láàrín àwọn darandaran wa, nítorí pé ẹbí kan ni àwa ṣe.
9 You see all this land that's available right in front of you? We have to split up. If you choose to go to the left, I'll go to the right. If you choose to go to the right, I'll go to the left.”
Gbogbo ilẹ̀ ha kọ́ nìyí níwájú rẹ? Jẹ́ kí a pínyà. Bí ìwọ bá lọ sí apá ọ̀tún, èmi yóò lọ sí apá òsì, bí ó sì ṣe òsì ni ìwọ lọ, èmi yóò lọ sí apá ọ̀tún.”
10 Lot looked over the whole Jordan valley towards Zoar, and saw that it was well-watered, looking like the Garden of Eden, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)
Lọti sì gbójú sókè, ó sì ri wí pé gbogbo pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Jordani ni omi rin dáradára bí ọgbà Olúwa, bí ilẹ̀ Ejibiti, ní ọ̀nà Soari. (Èyí ní ìṣáájú kí Olúwa tó pa Sodomu àti Gomorra run.)
11 So Lot chose the whole Jordan valley and went east, and the two separated from each other.
Nítorí náà Lọti yan gbogbo pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Jordani yìí fún ara rẹ̀, ó sì ń lọ sí ọ̀nà ìlà-oòrùn. Òun àti Abramu sì pínyà.
12 Abram went to live in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled down among the towns in the valley, setting up his tents near Sodom.
Abramu ń gbé ni ilẹ̀ Kenaani, Lọti sì jókòó ní ìlú agbègbè àfonífojì náà, ó sì pàgọ́ rẹ̀ títí dé Sodomu.
13 (The people of Sodom were very wicked, committing terrible sins that offended the Lord.)
Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọkùnrin Sodomu jẹ́ ènìyàn búburú, wọn sì ń dẹ́ṣẹ̀ gidigidi ni iwájú Olúwa.
14 After separating from Lot, the Lord told Abram, “Look around you from where you're standing, to the north, south, east, and west.
Olúwa sì wí fún Abramu lẹ́yìn ìpinyà òun àti Lọti pé, “Gbé ojú rẹ sókè nísinsin yìí, kí o sì wò láti ibi tí o gbé wà a nì lọ sí ìhà àríwá àti sí ìhà gúúsù, sí ìlà-oòrùn àti sí ìwọ̀ rẹ̀.
15 I'm giving all this land you see to you and your descendants forever.
Gbogbo ilẹ̀ tí ìwọ ń wò o nì ni èmi ó fi fún ọ àti irú-ọmọ rẹ láéláé.
16 You will have so many descendants that they'll be like the dust of the earth. If anyone could count dust then they could count the number of your descendants!
Èmi yóò mú kí irú-ọmọ rẹ kí ó pọ̀ bí erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀, tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ó bá ṣe pé ẹnikẹ́ni bá le è ka erùpẹ̀ ilẹ̀, nígbà náà ni yóò tó lè ka irú-ọmọ rẹ.
17 Go and walk through the whole land in all directions because I'm giving it to you.”
Dìde, rìn òró àti ìbú ilẹ̀ náà já, nítorí ìwọ ni Èmi yóò fi fún.”
18 So Abram went to live at Hebron, setting up his tents among the oaks at Mamre, where he built an altar to the Lord.
Nígbà náà ni Abramu kó àgọ́ rẹ̀, ó sì wá, ó sì jókòó ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ igi ńlá igbó Mamre, tí ó wà ní Hebroni. Níbẹ̀ ni ó gbé tẹ́ pẹpẹ kan sí fún Olúwa.
