< Ezekiel 9 >
1 Then I heard him shout out with a loud voice, “Start the attack, you who are in charge of punishing Jerusalem! Pick up your weapons!”
Mo gbọ́ ti ó kígbe ní ohùn rara pé, “Mú àwọn olùṣọ́ ìlú súnmọ́ itòsí, kí olúkúlùkù wọn mú ohun ìjà olóró lọ́wọ́.”
2 I watched as six men approached from the upper gate that faces north. All of them were carrying battle axes. There was another man with them. He was dressed in linen and had a scribe's writing kit at his side. They entered and stood next to the bronze altar.
Lójú ẹsẹ̀ ni ọkùnrin mẹ́fà jáde láti ẹnu-ọ̀nà òkè tó kọjú sí ìhà àríwá, olúkúlùkù pẹ̀lú ohun ìjà olóró lọ́wọ́ wọn. Ọkùnrin kan tó wọ aṣọ funfun gbòò wa láàrín wọn, pẹ̀lú ohun ìkọ̀wé lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀. Gbogbo wọn sì dúró lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ pẹpẹ idẹ.
3 The glory of the God of Israel rose from its usual place on the cherubim and went over to the Temple entrance. The Lord called out to the man dressed in linen with the writing kit,
Ògo Ọlọ́run Israẹli sì gòkè kúrò lórí kérúbù, níbi tó wà tẹ́lẹ̀ lọ sí ibi ìloro tẹmpili. Nígbà náà ni Olúwa pe ọkùnrin tó wọ aṣọ funfun náà tí ó sì ní ohun ìkọ̀wé lẹ́gbẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀.
4 “Go through the whole the city of Jerusalem and place a mark on the foreheads of those who sighing and mourning at all the disgusting sins that are done there.”
Ó sì sọ fún un pé, “La àárín ìlú Jerusalẹmu já, kí ìwọ sì fi àmì síwájú orí gbogbo àwọn tó ń kẹ́dùn, tó sì ń sọkún nítorí ohun ìríra tí wọn ń ṣe láàrín rẹ̀.”
5 Then I heard him tell the others, “Follow him all through the city and start killing people. Don't be kind or merciful to anyone!
Bí mo ṣe ń fetí sí èyí, O tún sọ fún àwọn yòókù pé, “Tẹ̀lé ọkùnrin náà lọ sí àárín ìlú láti pa láì dá sí àti láì ṣàánú rárá.
6 Kill the old men, the young men and girls, the women and children, but do not go anywhere near those who have the mark. Start at my sanctuary.” So they started by killing the elders who were in front of the Temple.
Ẹ pa arúgbó àti ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin, ẹ pa ọlọ́mọge, obìnrin àti ọmọ kéékèèké, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ má ṣe fi ọwọ́ kan àwọn tó ní àmì. Ẹ bẹ̀rẹ̀ láti ibi mímọ́.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn àgbàgbà tó wà níwájú tẹmpili.
7 Then he told them, “Make the Temple unclean and fill the courtyards with dead bodies. Go ahead and do it!” So they went and started killing all through the city.
Nígbà náà lo sọ fún wọn pé, “Ẹ sọ tẹmpili náà di àìmọ́, kí òkú sì kún àgbàlá náà. Ẹ lọ!” Wọ́n jáde síta, wọ́n sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í pa ènìyàn láàrín ìlú.
8 While they were busy killing people, I was left by myself. I fell facedown to the ground and cried out, “Lord God, when you pour out your anger on Jerusalem, are you going to destroy everyone who's left in Israel?”
Èmi nìkan ló ṣẹ́kù nígbà tí wọ́n lọ pa àwọn ènìyàn, mo dójú mi bolẹ̀, mo kígbe pé, “Háà! Olúwa Olódùmarè! Ìwọ yóò ha pa ìyókù Israẹli nípa dída ìbínú gbígbóná rẹ sórí Jerusalẹmu?”
9 “The sins of the people of Israel and Judah are really terrible,” he replied. “The whole country is full of murderers, and those living in the city are criminals. They're saying, ‘The Lord has given up on our country. He can't see what we're doing.’
Ó dá mi lóhùn pé, “Ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ilé Israẹli àti Juda pọ gidigidi; ilé wọn kún fún ìtàjẹ̀ sílẹ̀ àti àìṣòótọ́. Wọ́n ní, ‘Olúwa tí kọ ilẹ̀ náà sílẹ̀; Olúwa kò sì rí wa.’
10 But I certainly won't be kind to them or have mercy on them. I will make sure they suffer the consequences of what they've done.”
Nítorí náà, èmi kò ní wò wọ́n pẹ̀lú àánú, èmi kò sì ní dá wọn sí, ṣùgbọ́n Èmi yóò dá ohun tí wọ́n ti ṣe padà sórí wọn.”
11 Then the man in linen with the writing kit returned and reported, “I've done what you told me to do.”
Ọkùnrin tí ó wọ aṣọ ọ̀gbọ̀, tí ó ní ìwo tàdáwà ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ rẹ̀ ròyìn pé, “Mo ti ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwọ ti pàṣẹ fún mi.”
