Ezekiel 35

1 A message from the Lord came to me, saying,

Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir und sprach:

2 “Son of man, face towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it

Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht wider das Gebirge Seir und weissage dawider,

3 Announce that this is what the Lord God says: Watch out, because I'm condemning you, Mount Seir. I'm going to attack you and turn you into a wasteland.

und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der Herr HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, du Berg Seir, und meine Hand wider dich ausstrecken und will dich gar wüst machen.

4 I will ruin your towns; you will be completely devastated. Then you will acknowledge that I am the Lord.

Ich will deine Städte öde machen, daß du sollst zur Wüste werden und erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.

5 Because of your lasting hatred for the Israelites you let them be attacked with swords as they went through terrible disasters when the time of their punishment was coming to an end.

Darum daß ihr ewige Feindschaft tragt wider die Kinder Israel und triebet sie ins Schwert zur Zeit, da es ihnen übel ging und ihre Missetat zum Ende gekommen war,

6 So as I live, declares the Lord God, I will let you be violently attacked and chased down. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will come after you.

darum, so wahr ich lebe, spricht der Herr HERR, will ich dich auch blutend machen, und du sollst dem Bluten nicht entrinnen; weil du Lust zum Blut hast, sollst du dem Bluten nicht entrinnen.

7 I will turn Mount Seir into a ruined wasteland. I will wipe out anyone who leaves or who tries to return.

Und ich will den Berg Seir wüst und öde machen, daß niemand darauf wandeln noch gehen soll.

8 I will fill its mountains with the dead. Those killed by the sword will fall in your hills, valleys, and all your ravines.

Und will sein Gebirge und alle Hügel, Täler und alle Gründe voll Toter machen, die durchs Schwert sollen erschlagen daliegen.

9 I will ruin you forever. Your towns will not be inhabited again. Then you will acknowledge that I am the Lord.

Ja, zu einer ewigen Wüste will ich dich machen, daß niemand in deinen Städten wohnen soll; und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.

10 Because you said, ‘These two nations and their lands belong to us, and we will take them over, even though the Lord was there with them,’

Und darum daß du sprichst: Diese beiden Völker mit beiden Ländern müssen mein werden, und wir wollen sie einnehmen, obgleich der HERR da wohnt,

11 then as I live, declares the Lord God, I will deal with you in the same way that you showed anger and jealousy to them in your hatred of them. They will realize that I'm punishing you because of the way you treated them.

darum, so wahr ich lebe, spricht der Herr HERR, will ich nach deinem Zorn und Haß mit dir umgehen, wie du mit ihnen umgegangen bist aus lauter Haß, und ich will bei ihnen bekannt werden, wenn ich dich gestraft habe.

12 You will also realize that I, the Lord, heard all the nasty things you said about the mountainous land of Israel when you announced, ‘The mountains have been left empty; they're ours to take!’

Und du sollst erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, all dein Lästern gehört habe, so du geredet hast wider die Berge Israels und gesagt: “Sie sind verwüstet und uns zu verderben gegeben.”

13 You made a lot of boasts attacking me—you had much to say against me. I heard it for myself!

Und ihr habt euch wider mich gerühmt und heftig wider mich geredet; das habe ich gehört.

14 This is what the Lord God says: I will destroy you as everyone else in the world celebrates.

So spricht nun der Herr HERR: Ich will dich zur Wüste machen, daß sich alles Land freuen soll.

15 Just as you celebrated when Israel was destroyed, I will do the same to you. Mount Seir, you will become a wasteland, and so will the rest of Edom. Then they will acknowledge that I am the Lord.”

Und wie du dich gefreut hast über das Erbe des Hauses Israel, darum daß es wüst geworden, ebenso will ich mit dir tun, daß der Berg Seir wüst sein muß samt dem ganzen Edom; und sie sollen erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.
