Ezekiel 18
1 A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
௧யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:
2 “What's this proverb you people are quoting about the country of Israel: ‘The fathers ate the unripe grapes, but their children got the sour taste’?
௨பிதாக்கள் திராட்சைக்காய்களை சாப்பிட்டார்கள், பிள்ளைகளின் பற்கள் கூசிப்போனது என்னும் பழமொழியை நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்தைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிறது என்ன?
3 As I live, declares the Lord God, you won't quote this proverb in Israel any more.
௩இனி இஸ்ரவேலில் இந்தப் பழமொழியைச் சொல்வது இல்லை என்பதை என்னுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
4 Can't you see that everyone belongs to me? Whether parents or children, they are all mine. It's the person who sins who will die.
௪இதோ, எல்லா ஆத்துமாக்களும் என்னுடையவைகள்; தகப்பனின் ஆத்துமா எப்படியோ, அப்படியே மகனின் ஆத்துமாவும் என்னுடையது; பாவம்செய்கிற ஆத்துமாவே சாகும்.
5 Take the example of a man who is a good person, doing what is fair and right.
௫ஒருவன் நீதிமானாக இருந்து, நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்து,
6 He doesn't go to the pagan shrines in the mountains to eat a religious meal, or worship Israel's idols. He doesn't have sex with someone else's wife or with a woman during her period.
௬மலைகளின்மேல் சாப்பிடாமலும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் அசுத்தமான சிலைகளுக்கு நேராகத் தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுக்காமலும் தன்னுடைய அயலானுடைய மனைவியைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாமலும் மாதவிடாயுள்ள பெண்ணுடன் சேராமலும்,
7 He doesn't exploit anyone. He gives back what a debtor has given him as security. He doesn't rob others. He feeds the hungry and clothes the naked.
௭ஒருவனையும் ஒடுக்காமலும், கொள்ளையிடாமலும் இருந்து, கடன் வாங்கினவனுக்கு அடைமானத்தைத் திரும்பக்கொடுத்து, தன்னுடைய அப்பத்தைப் பசித்தவனுக்குப் பங்கிட்டு, ஆடையில்லாதவனுக்கு ஆடை அணிவித்து,
8 He doesn't lend with interest or make a profit from loans. He refuses to do wrong and makes sure he's truly fair in his decisions between people.
௮வட்டிக்குக் கொடுக்காமலும், அதிக லாபம் வாங்காமலும், அநியாயத்திற்குத் தன்னுடைய கையை விலக்கி, மனிதர்களுக்குள்ள வழக்கை உண்மையாகத் தீர்த்து,
9 He follows my rules and keeps my regulations faithfully. Such a man lives by what's right and he will certainly live, declares the Lord God.
௯என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளின்படி நடந்து, என்னுடைய நியாயங்களைக் கைக்கொண்டு, உண்மையாக இருந்தால் அவனே நீதிமான்; அவன் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
10 What if that man has a son who is a violent criminal, who kills and does do such evil things just listed
௧0ஆனாலும் அவனுக்கு ஒரு மகன் பிறந்து, அவன் கள்ளனும் இரத்தம் சிந்துகிறவனும், மேற்சொல்லிய கடமைகளின்படி நடக்காமல்,
11 even though the father doesn't act like that at all. The son goes to the pagan shrines in the mountains to eat a religious meal. He has sex with someone else's wife.
௧௧இவைகளில் ஒன்றுக்கு ஒப்பானதைச் செய்கிறவனுமாக இருந்து, மலைகளின்மேல் சாப்பிட்டு, தன்னுடைய அயலானுடைய மனைவியைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தி,
12 He exploits the poor and those in need. He robs others, and he doesn't give back what a debtor has given him as security. He worships idols. He commits disgusting sins.
௧௨சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனை ஒடுக்கி, கொள்ளைக்காரனாக இருந்து, அடைமானத்தைத் திரும்பக் கொடுக்காமல், அசுத்தமான சிலைகளுக்கு நேராக தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, அருவருப்பானதைச் செய்து,
13 He lends with interest and makes a profit from loans. Is someone like this going to live? No, he won't! Because he has done all these offensive things, he will die for certain, and he will be responsible for his own death.
௧௩வட்டிக்குக் கொடுத்து, அதிகமாக வட்டி வாங்கினால், அவன் பிழைப்பானோ? அவன் பிழைப்பதில்லை; இந்த எல்லா அருவருப்புகளையும் செய்தானே; அவன் இறக்கவே இறப்பான்; அவன் இரத்தப்பழி அவன்மேல் இருக்கும்.
14 Now what if this man has a son who sees all the sins his father has committed. He sees them but doesn't do the same.
௧௪பின்னும், இதோ, அவனுக்கு ஒரு மகன் பிறந்து, அவன் தன்னுடைய தகப்பன் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களையும் கண்டு, தான் அவைகளின்படி செய்யாதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாக இருந்து,

௧௫மலைகளின்மேல் சாப்பிடாமலும், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின் அசுத்தமான சிலைகளுக்கு நேராகத் தன்னுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுக்காமலும், தன்னுடைய அயலானுடைய மனைவியைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாமலும்,
16 He doesn't exploit anyone. He doesn't demand security for a loan. He doesn't rob others. He feeds the hungry and clothes the naked.
௧௬ஒருவனையும் ஒடுக்காமலும், அடைமானத்தை வைத்துக்கொண்டிருக்காலும், கொள்ளையடிக்காமலும், தன்னுடைய ஆகாரத்தை பசித்தவனுக்குப் பங்கிட்டு, ஆடை இல்லாதவனுக்கு ஆடை அணிவித்து,
17 He refuses to do wrong and does not charge interest or make a profit on loans. He keeps my regulations and follows my laws. A man like that won't die because of his father's sins, he will certainly live!
௧௭சிறுமையானவனை துன்பப்படுத்தாதபடித் தன்னுடைய கையை விலக்கி, வட்டியும் அதிகமாக வாங்காமலிருந்து என்னுடைய நியாயங்களின்படி செய்து, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளில் நடந்தால், அவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினால் சாகாமல் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான்.
18 But his father will die for his own sins, because he exploited others, robbed his relatives, and did wrong to his own people.
௧௮அவனுடைய தகப்பனோவென்றால் கொடுமைசெய்து, சகோதரனைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, தகாததைத் தன்னுடைய மக்களின் நடுவிலே செய்தபடியினால், இதோ, இவன் தன்னுடைய அக்கிரமத்திலே மரிப்பான்.
19 You ask, ‘Why shouldn't the son pay for his father's sins?’ If the son has done what is fair and right, keeping all my laws, then he'll live, he won't be punished.
௧௯இதெப்படி, மகன் தகப்பனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமக்கிறதில்லையா என்று நீங்கள் கேட்டால், மகன் நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்து, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி செய்ததினால், அவன் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான்.
20 It's the person who sins who will die. A son won't pay for his father's sins, and a father won't pay for his son's sins. The good consequences of living right will come to those who are good; the evil consequences of wickedness will come to those who are evil.
௨0பாவம்செய்கிற ஆத்துமாவே சாகும்; மகன் தகப்பனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமப்பதுமில்லை, தகப்பன் மகனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தைச் சுமப்பதுமில்லை; நீதிமானுடைய நீதி அவன்மேல் தான் இருக்கும், துன்மார்க்கனுடைய துன்மார்க்கமும் அவன்மேல் தான் இருக்கும்.
21 However, if someone who is wicked stops sinning and keeps my laws, doing what is fair and right, they will certainly live—they won't die.
௨௧துன்மார்க்கன் தான் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களையும் விட்டுத் திரும்பி, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளையெல்லாம் கைக்கொண்டு, நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்தால், அவன் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான், அவன் மரிப்பதில்லை.
22 None of their sins will be held against them. Because they are now doing what's right, they will live.
௨௨அவன் செய்த எல்லா மீறுதல்களும் நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; அவன் தான் செய்த நீதியிலே பிழைப்பான்.
23 Do I like it when wicked people die? declares the Lord God. Of course not—I would be delighted if they stopped sinning and lived!
௨௩துன்மார்க்கன் மரணமடைகிறது எனக்கு எவ்வளவேனும் பிரியமோ? அவன் தன்னுடைய வழிகளை விட்டுத் திரும்பிப் பிழைப்பது அல்லவோ எனக்குப் பிரியம் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
24 But if someone who is living according to what's right stops and does wrong, doing the same offensive things as the wicked, will that person live? Of course not! In fact, all the good things they did previously will be forgotten. That person will die because of their betrayal of me and the sins they've committed.
௨௪நீதிமான் தன்னுடைய நீதியைவிட்டு விலகி, அநீதி செய்து, துன்மார்க்கன் செய்கிற எல்லா அருவருப்புகளின்படியும் செய்தால், அவன் பிழைப்பானோ? அவன் செய்த அவனுடைய எல்லா நீதிகளும் நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; அவன் செய்த தன்னுடைய துரோகத்திலேயும் அவன் செய்த தன்னுடைய பாவத்திலேயும் மரிப்பான்.
25 Even so you say, ‘What the Lord does isn't right.’ People of Israel, listen to me! Is it what I'm doing that isn't right? Isn't it what you're doing that isn't right?
௨௫நீங்களோ, ஆண்டவருடைய வழி சரியாக இருக்கவில்லை என்கிறீர்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, கேளுங்கள்; என்னுடைய வழி சரியாக இருக்காதோ? உங்களுடைய வழிகள் அல்லவோ சரியில்லாததாக இருக்கிறது.
26 If someone who lives according to what's right stops doing right and does wrong, they will die. They will die because of wrong things they've done.
௨௬நீதிமான் தன்னுடைய நீதியைவிட்டு விலகி, அநீதிசெய்து அதிலே இறந்தால், அவன் செய்த தன்னுடைய அநீதியினால் அவன் மரிப்பான்.
27 But if someone wicked stops doing wrong and does what is fair and right, they will save their life.
௨௭துன்மார்க்கன் தான் செய்த துன்மார்க்கத்தைவிட்டு விலகி, நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்தால், அவன் தன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவைப் பிழைக்கச்செய்வான்.
28 Because they thought about it and gave up their wicked ways, they will certainly live—they won't die.
௨௮அவன் எச்சரிப்படைந்து, தான் செய்த எல்லா மீறுதல்களையும் விட்டுத் திரும்புகிறபடியினாலே அவன் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான், அவன் மரிப்பதில்லை.
29 But the people of Israel say, ‘The Lord's way isn't right.’ Are my ways unfair, people of Israel? Isn't it your ways that aren't fair?
௨௯இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களோ: ஆண்டவருடைய வழி ஒழுங்காக இருக்கவில்லை என்கிறார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, என்னுடைய வழிகள் ஒழுங்காக இருக்காதோ? உங்களுடைய வழிகள் அல்லவோ ஒழுங்கில்லாததாக இருக்கிறது.
30 Consequently I'm going to judge you, people of Israel! I will judge each of you depending on what you've done, declares the Lord God. Repent and stop rebelling so that your sins won't bring you down.
௩0ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, நான் உங்களில் அவனவனை அவனவன் வழிகளுக்குத் தகுந்தபடி நியாயந்தீர்பேன் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நீங்கள் மனந்திரும்புங்கள், உங்களுடைய எல்லா மீறுதல்களையும் விட்டுத் திரும்புங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அக்கிரமம் உங்களுடைய பொல்லாப்புக்கு காரணமாக இருப்பதில்லை.
31 Get rid of all your rebellious sins! Change your way of thinking and have a new spirit. Why do you want to die, people of Israel?
௩௧நீங்கள் துரோகம்செய்த உங்களுடைய எல்லாத் துரோகங்களையும் உங்கள்மேல் இல்லாமல் விலக்கி, உங்களுக்குப் புது இருதயத்தையும் புது ஆவியையும் உண்டாக்கிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, நீங்கள் ஏன் இறக்கவேண்டும்?
32 I don't like it when anybody dies, declares the Lord God. So repent so you can live!”
௩௨மனந்திரும்புங்கள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பீர்கள்; மரணமடைகிறவனுடைய மரணத்தை நான் விரும்புவதில்லை என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
