Ezekiel 14
1 Some elders of Israel arrived and sat down with me.
Da kamen einige der Ältesten aus Israel zu mir und setzten sich mir gegenüber.
2 A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
Darauf erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:
3 “Son of man, these men are worshiping idols in their minds even though they know this will lead them to sin. Why should I respond to their requests?
"Sieh, Menschensohn! Die Männer denken nur an ihre Götzenbilder und stellen vor sich hin das Ding, mit dem sie sich versündigen. Und ich soll ihnen da zur Rede stehen?
4 So tell them that this is what the Lord God says: When the people of Israel worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin, and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will give them an answer appropriate to their many idols.
Drum sprich sie an und sag zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Ein jeder, der im Hause Israel an seine Götzen denkt und vor sich hin den Anlaß seiner Sünde stellt, und dennoch zum Propheten kommt, bei einem solchen antworte ich, Jahve, ich selbst auf seine vielen Götzenbilder.
5 Like this I might have the people of Israel decide to recommit themselves to me. Right now, because of their idols, all of them treat me as their enemy.
Ich will's dem Hause Israel in seinem Herzen fühlbar machen, daß es durch seine Götzen all sich mir entfremdet hat.'
6 So tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Repent! Give up worshiping your idols Stop all your disgusting practices.
Deshalb sag zu dem Hause Israel: So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Kehrt um und wendet euch von euren Götzenbildern, von allen euren Greueln wendet euer Antlitz ab!
7 When the people of Israel or foreigners living with them worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself.
Denn jeder in dem Hause Israel und von den Fremdlingen, die in Jerusalem verweilen, und wer an seine Götzen denkt und wer den Anlaß seiner Sünde vor sich hinstellt und dennoch zum Propheten kommt, um mich durch diesen zu befragen, dem werde ich, Jahve, die Antwort selber geben.
8 I will oppose anyone who does this and make any example of them that others will talk about. I will remove them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
Ich wende gegen einen solchen Mann mein Angesicht; ein warnend Beispiel mache ich aus ihm und rotte ihn aus meinem Volke aus, daß ihr erkennet, daß der Herr ich bin.
9 But if the prophet is deceived into giving a message, it was I the Lord who deceived him to do this. I will still reach out and destroy that prophet from my people Israel.
Und läßt sich der Prophet verleiten, ihm eine Antwort zu erteilen, dann habe ich, der Herr, den Seher vorher selbst dazu verleitet. Doch streck ich gegen diesen meine Hand und tilge ihn aus meinem Volke Israel.
10 They will be responsible for the punishment they receive, as will those who believe in these prophets will receive the same punishment.
So müssen beide ihr Vergehen tragen, der Fragende wie der Prophet; sie werden gleicherweise schuldig sein,
11 This is so that the people of Israel won't abandon me anymore and won't make themselves unclean with all their sins. Then they will be my people and I will be their God, declares the Lord God.”
damit das Haus von Israel von mir nicht Abfall übe und sich durch irgendwelche Freveltat nicht mehr entweihe, daß sie vielmehr zum Volk mir werden und ich für sie zum Gott.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn."
12 A message from the Lord came to me again, saying,
Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:
13 “Son of man, if a people in a country sin against me by being unfaithful to me, then I will act against them by cutting off their food supply, so they experience famine, with no food for people or animals.
"Du Menschensohn! Wenn sich an mir ein Land hat schwer versündigt und ich dawider meine Hand ausstreckte und ihm des Brotes Stab zerbräche und Hungersnot ihm schickte und Mensch und Vieh aus ihm vertilgte
14 Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job, these three men, were present their good lives would only save themselves, declares the Lord God.
und drinnen wären die drei Männer, Noë, Daniel und Job, so retteten sie nur sich selbst durch ihre Tugend." Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.
15 I could send wild animals rampaging through the country, so they would leave it uninhabited and desolate, a place no one would travel through for fear of such animals.
"Und brächte ich die wilden Tiere in das Land, und machte ich es menschenleer, zu einer Wüste, die niemand mehr durchwandern möchte, der wilden Tiere wegen,
16 As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves, but the land would be left desolate.
und drinnen wären die drei Männer, so wahr ich lebe", ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, "sie würden weder Sohn noch Tochter retten. Sie retteten nur sich allein; das Land jedoch würde zur Wüste werden.
17 I could bring war to that country and say, ‘Have a sword cut through it,’ so that I destroy both people and animals.
Und ließe ich das Schwert hingehen über jenes Land und spräche dann: 'Ein Schwert soll durch das Land hinfahren!' und ich vertilgte Mensch und Vieh daraus,
18 As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves.
und drinnen wären die drei Männer, so wahr ich lebe", ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, "sie würden weder Sohn noch Tochter retten. Sie retteten nur sich allein.
19 I could send a disease on that country and because of my anger I would kill many, both people and animals.
Und sendete ich Pest in jenes Land, und gösse blutig meinen Grimm darüber, um Mensch und Vieh daraus zu tilgen,
20 As I live, declares the Lord God, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were present, they couldn't save their sons or daughters. Their good lives would only save themselves.
und wären Noë, Daniel und Job darin, so wahr ich lebe", ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, "sie würden weder Sohn noch Tochter retten; sie retteten durch ihre Tugend nur sich selbst."
21 This is what the Lord God says: It will be so much worse when I send my four severe judgments against Jerusalem—war, famine, wild animals, and disease, so that both people and animals are killed!
Ja, also spricht der Herr, der Herr: "Um wieviel mehr nun sende ich jetzt meine vier Strafübel, Schwert und Hunger, wilde Tiere samt der Pest gegen Jerusalem, um Mensch und Vieh daraus zu tilgen.
22 Even so a few of them will survive, some sons and daughters who will be taken captive. They will be brought to you in Babylon, and when you realize what they did and how they acted, you will understand why I had to bring such a disaster down on Jerusalem—everything I did to it.
Und doch bleibt drinnen übrig eine Schar Verschonter. Sie kann selbst Sohn und Tochter noch daraus wegführen. Fürwahr! Sie ziehen dann zu euch; da könnt ihr ihren Wandel, ihre Handlungsweise sehen. Ihr denkt dann anders über dieses Unglück, das für Jerusalem von mir gekommen, all das, was ich darüber brachte.
23 Realizing what they did and how they acted will help you to see that I had good reasons to do everything I did to Jerusalem, declares the Lord God.”
Da lehren sie euch anders denken, beschaut ihr ihren Wandel und ihr Tun. Und ihr seht ein, daß ich nicht ohne Ursache geschehen ließ, was ich an ihm getan." Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.
