< Exodus 39 >
1 They made woven clothing from blue, purple, and crimson thread for serving in the sanctuary. They also made holy clothing garments for Aaron, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
And of the blue and the purple, and the crimson, made they cloths of variegated stuff for ministering in the sanctuary, —and they made the holy garments which were for Aaron, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
2 They made the ephod of finely-woven linen embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and crimson thread.
So he made the ephod, —of gold, blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine twined linen,
3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut threads from them to weave in with the blue, purple, and scarlet thread, together with fine linen, all skillfully worked.
And they did beat out the plates of gold and he proceeded to cut them into threads, to work into the midst of the blue and into the midst of the purple and into the midst of the crimson, and into the midst of the fine linen, —with the work of a skilful weaver.
4 Two shoulder pieces were attached to the front and back pieces.
Shoulder-pieces, made they thereto, for joining, —at its two edges, was it joined.
5 The waistband of the ephod was one piece made in the same way, using gold thread, with blue, purple, and crimson thread, and with finely-woven linen, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
And as for the curious fastening girdle which was thereon, of the same, it was according to the working thereof, gold blue, and purple, and crimson and fine twined linen, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
6 They placed the onyx stones in ornamental gold settings, engraved with the names of the Israelite tribes in the same way a jeweler engraves a personal seal.
And they wrought the onyx stones, enclosed in ouches of gold, —graven with the engravings of a seal-ring, after the names of the sons of Israel.
7 They attached both stones to the shoulder pieces of the ephod as reminders for the Israelite tribes, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
And he put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, as stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
8 They also made a breastpiece for decisions in the same skilful way as the ephod, to be used in determining the Lord's will. They made it using gold thread, with blue, purple, and crimson thread, and with finely-woven linen.
And he made the breastpiece the work of a skilful weaver like the work of the ephod, —of gold blue and purple and crimson, and fine twined linen.
9 It was square when folded, measuring around nine inches in length and width.
Foursquare, it was doubled, made they the breastpiece, —a span, was the length thereof, and, a span, the breadth thereof, doubled.
10 They attached an arrangement of precious stones in four rows as follows. In the first row carnelian, peridot, and emerald.
And they set therein four rows of stones, —one row a sardius, a topaz and an emerald, the first row;
11 In the second row turquoise, lapis lazuli, and sardonyx.
and the second row, —a carbuncle a sapphire, and a diamond;
12 In the third row jacinth, agate, and amethyst.
and the third row, —an opal an agate and an amethyst;
13 In the fourth row topaz, beryl, and jasper. They were all placed in ornamental gold settings.
and the fourth row, a Tarshish stone, a sardonyx, and a jasper, —enclosed in ouches of gold, when they were set
14 Each of the twelve stones were engraved like a personal seal with the name of one of the twelve Israelites tribes and represented them.
And as for the stones, after the names of the sons of Israel, they were twelve, after their names, —with the engravings of a seal-ring, each one, after his name, for the twelve tribes,
15 They made cords of braided chains from pure gold to attach the breastpiece.
And they made, upon the breastpiece, chains like cords of wreathen work, —of pure gold.
16 They made two gold settings and two gold rings and fastened the rings to the two top corners of the breastpiece.
And they made two ouches of gold, and two rings of gold, —and they placed the two rings upon the two ends of the breastpiece;
17 They attached the two gold chains to the two gold rings on the corners of the breastpiece,
and they placed the two wreathen chains of gold upon the two rings, -upon the ends of the breastpiece;
18 and then fastened the opposite ends of the two chains to the ornamental gold settings on the shoulder pieces of the front side of the ephod.
and the other two ends of the two wreathen chains, placed they upon the two ouches, —and placed them upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod in the forefront thereof.
19 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the two lower corners of the breastpiece, on the inside edge next to the ephod.
And they made two rings of gold, and put on the two ends of the breastpiece, upon the border thereof, which is towards the ephod, inwards.
20 They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the front side of the ephod, near where it joins its woven waistband.
And they made two other rings of gold, and placed them upon the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod below on the front of the face thereof, to match the joining thereof.—above the curious girdle of the ephod,
21 They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue thread, so that the breastpiece wouldn't come loose from the ephod, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
And they bound the breastpiece by the rings thereof into the rings of the ephod, with a cord of blue that it might remain upon the curious girdle of the ephod, and the breastpiece not be removed from upon the ephod, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
22 They made the robe that goes with the ephod exclusively from woven blue cloth,
And he made the robe of the ephod, the work of a weaver, wholly of blue;
23 with an opening in the middle at the top. They stitched a woven collar around the opening to strengthen it so it wouldn't tear.
with the opening of the robe in the midst thereof, like the opening of a coat of mail, —a border to the opening thereof round about it might not be rent open.
24 They made pomegranates using blue, purple, and crimson thread and finely-woven linen and attached them all the way around its hem.
And they made upon the skirts of the robe, pomegranates—of blue and purple and crimson, —twined.
25 They made pure gold bells and attached them between the pomegranates all the way around its hem,
And they made bells of pure gold, and placed the bells in the midst of the pomegranates upon the skirts of the robe, roundabout, in the midst of the pomegranates:
26 having the bells and the pomegranates alternate. The robe was to be used for priestly service, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, upon the skirts of the robe, round about, to minister in—As Yahweh commanded Moses.
27 They made tunics with finely-spun linen made by a weaver for Aaron and his sons.
And they made the tunics of fine linen the work of a weaver, for Aaron and for his sons:
28 They also made turbans, headdresses, and headbands of fine linen, and finely-woven linen undershorts,
and the turban of fine linen, and the ornamental caps of fine linen, —and the linen drawers, of fine twined linen:
29 as well as sashes of finely-woven linen embroidered with blue, purple, and crimson thread, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
and the girdle of fine twined linen, and blue and purple and crimson the work of an embroiderer, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
30 They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold and wrote on it, engraved like a seal, “Holy to the Lord.”
And they made the burnished plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote thereupon a writing, with the engravings of a seal-ring Holy unto Yahweh.
31 They tied a blue cord to it to attach it to the front of the turban, as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
And they placed there, upon a cord of blue, to fasten it upon the turban up above, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
32 So all the work for the Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting, was finished. The Israelites did everything as the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
Thus was finished all the work of the habitation of the tent of meeting, —thus did the sons of Israel, according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did they.
33 Then they presented the Tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furniture, its clips, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and stands;
And they brought in the habitation unto Moses, the tent, and all its furniture, —its clasps, its boards, its bars, and its pillars and its sockets;
34 the covering of tanned ram skins, the covering of fine leather, and the veil;
and the covering of rams’ skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers’ skins, and the screening veil;
35 the Ark of the Testimony with its poles and the atonement cover;
the ark of the testimony, with its staves, —and the propitiatory;
36 the table with all its equipment and the Bread of the Presence;
the table all its utensils, and the Presence-bread;
37 the pure gold lampstand with its lamps placed in a row, and all its equipment, as well as the olive oil for the lamps;
the pure lampstand the lamps thereof the lamps to be put in order, and all the utensils thereof, —and the oil for giving light;
38 the gold altar, the anointing oil, the aromatic incense, and the screen for the tent's entrance;
and the altar of gold, and the oil of anointing, and the fragrant incense, —and the screen for the opening of the tent;
39 the bronze altar with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin plus its stand;
the altar of bronze and the grating of bronze which pertaineth thereto, the staves thereof, and all the utensils thereof, —the laver, and its stand,
40 the curtains of the courtyard and its posts and stands; the curtain for the courtyard entrance, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the services of Tabernacle, the Tent of Meeting;
the hangings of the court its pillars and its sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court, its cords and its pins, —and all the utensils for the service of the habitation for the tent of meeting;
41 and the woven garments for serving in the sanctuary, the holy clothes for Aaron the priest and for his sons to serve as priests.
them cloths of variegated stuff, for ministering in the sanctuary, —the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for ministering as priests.
42 The Israelites did all the work that the Lord had ordered Moses to do.
According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did the sons of Israel make all the work.
43 Moses inspected all the work and made sure they had done it as the Lord had ordered. Then Moses blessed them.
And Moses looked upon all the structure and lo! they had made it, as Yahweh had commanded, so, had they made it, —and Moses blessed them.
