< Exodus 35 >

1 Moses summoned all the Israelites and told them, “This is what the Lord has ordered you to do:
Therfor whanne al the cumpanye of the sones of Israel was gaderid, Moises seide to hem, These thingis it ben, whiche the Lord comaundide to be doon.
2 Six days you can work, but the seventh day is to be a holy Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Anyone who does any work on the Sabbath day must be killed.
Sixe daies ye schulen do werk, the seuenthe dai schal be hooli to you, the sabat and reste of the Lord; he that doith werk in the sabat schal be slayn.
3 Don't even light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”
Ye schulen not kyndle fier in alle youre dwellyng places bi the `dai of sabat.
4 Moses also told all the Israelites, “This is what the Lord has commanded:
And Moises seide to al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel, This is the word which the Lord comaundide, and seide,
5 Collect an offering to the Lord from what you have. Everyone who wants to should bring an offering to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze;
Departe ye at you the firste fruytis to the Lord; ech wilful man and of redi wille offre tho to the Lord, gold, and siluer, and bras,
6 blue, purple, and crimson thread; finely-woven linen and goat hair;
and iacynct, and purpur, and reed selk twies died, and bijs, heeris of geet,
7 tanned ram skins and fine leather; acacia wood;
and skynnys of rammes maad reed, and of iacynt,
8 olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the aromatic incense;
trees of Sechym, and oile to liytis to be ordeyned, and that the oynement be maad, and encense moost swete,
9 and onyx stones and gemstones for making the ephod and breastpiece.
stoonus of onochyn and gemmes, to the ournyng of the `cloth on the schuldris, and of the racional.
10 All your skilled craftsmen are to come and make everything the Lord has commanded:
Who euer of you is wijs, come he, and make that, that the Lord comaundide,
11 the Tabernacle with its tent and covering, its clips and frames, its crossbars, posts, and stands;
that is, the tabernacle, and the roof therof, and the hilyng; ryngis, and bildyngis of tablis, with barris, stakis, and foundementis;
12 the Ark with its poles and atonement cover, and the veil to hang over it;
the arke, and barris; the propiciatorie, and the veil, which is hangid byfore it;
13 the table with its poles, all its equipment, and the Bread of the Presence;
the bord with barris, and vesselis, and with looues of settyng forth;
14 the lampstand of light with its equipment and lamps and olive oil to provide lighting;
the candilstike to susteyne liytis, the vesselis, and lanternes therof, and oile to the nurschyngis of fyris; the auter of encense, and the barris;
15 the altar of incense with its poles; the anointing oil and aromatic incense; the screen for the Tabernacle entrance and all its accessories;
the oile of anoyntyng, and encense of swete smellynge spiceries; the tente at the dore of the tabernacle;
16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grate, its poles and all its utensils; the basin plus its stand;
the auter of brent sacrifice, and his brasun gridele, with hise barris, and vessels; the `greet waischyng vessel, and `his foundement;
17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the courtyard entrance;
the curteyns of the large street, with pileris and foundementis; the tente in the doris of the porche;
18 the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and for the courtyard, as well as their ropes;
the stakis of the tabernacle and of the large street, with her coordis;
19 and the woven clothes for serving in the holy place: the sacred clothing for Aaron the priest and for his sons to serve as priests.”
the clothis, whose vss is in `the seruyce of seyntuarie; the clothis of Aaron bischop, and of hise sones, that thei be set in preesthod to me.
20 The Israelites left Moses,
And al the multitude of the sones of Israel yede out of `the siyt of Moises,
21 and all those who felt moved to do so and who had a willing spirit came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work making the Tent of Meeting, for everything required for its services, and for the sacred clothing.
and offride with moost redi soule and deuout the firste thingis to the Lord, to make the werk of the tabernacle of witnessyng, what euer was nedeful to the ournyng, and to hooli clothis.
22 So everyone who was willing, both men and women, came and presented their gold as a thanks offering to the Lord, including brooches, earrings, rings, and necklaces—all kinds of gold jewelry.
Men and wymmen yauen bies of the armes, and eeryngis, ryngis, and ournementis of `the arm niy the hond; ech goldun vessel was departid in to the yiftis of the Lord.
23 Everyone who had blue, purple, and crimson thread, finely-woven linen, goat hair, tanned ram skins, and fine leather, contributed them.
If ony man hadde iacynt, and purpur, and `reed selk twies died, bijs, and the heeris of geet, skynnes of rammes maad reed, and of iacynt,
24 Those who could present an offering of silver or bronze brought it as a gift to the Lord. Everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work donated it.
metals of siluer, and of bras, thei offeryden to the Lord, and trees of Sechym in to dyuerse vsis.
25 Every woman skilled in spinning with her hands brought what she had spun: blue, purple, or crimson thread, or finely-woven linen.
But also wymmen tauyt yauen tho thingis, whiche thei hadden spunne, iacynt, purpur, and vermyloun,
26 All the women who were willing to use their skills spun the goat hair.
and bijs, and the heeris of geet; and yauen alle thingis by her owne fre wille.
27 The leaders brought onyx stones and gemstones to make the ephod and breastpiece,
Forsothe princes offeriden stoonys of onychyn and iemmes, to the `cloth on the schuldris, and to the racional, and swete smellynge spiceries,
28 as well as spices and olive oil for lighting, for the anointing oil, and for the aromatic incense.
and oyle to the liytis to be ordeyned, and to make redi oynement, and to make the encense of swettist odour.
29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought a freewill offering to the Lord for all the work in making what the Lord through Moses had ordered them to do.
Alle men and wymmen offeriden yiftis with deuout soule, that the werkis schulden be maad, whiche the Lord comaundide bi the hond of Moyses; alle the sones of Israel halewiden wilful thingis to the Lord.
30 Then Moses told the Israelites, “The Lord chosen by name Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah.
And Moises seide to the sones of Israel, Lo! the Lord hath clepid Beseleel bi name, the sone of Hury, sone of Hur, of the lynage of Juda;
31 He has filled him with the Spirit of God giving him ability, creativity, and expertise in all kinds of craftsmanship.
and the Lord hath fillid hym with the spirit of God, of wisdom, and of vndurstondyng, and of kunnyng, and with al doctryn,
32 He can produce designs in gold, silver, and bronze,
to fynde out and to make werk in gold, and siluer, and bras, and in stoonys to be grauun,
33 he can cut gemstones to place in settings, and he can carve wood. He is a master of every craft.
and in werk of carpentrie; what euer thing may be foundun craftili,
34 The Lord has also given him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
the Lord yaf in his herte; and the Lord clepide Ooliab, the sone of Achymasech, of the lynage of Dan;
35 He has equipped them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and crimson thread, and finely-woven linen, and as weavers—in fact as skilled designers in all kinds of different crafts.
the Lord tauyte bothe `with wisdom, that thei make the werkis of carpenter, of steynour, and of broiderere, of iacynt, and purpur, and of `reed selk, and of bijs, and that thei make alle thingis, and fynde alle newe thingis.
