< Exodus 35 >
1 Moses summoned all the Israelites and told them, “This is what the Lord has ordered you to do:
And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said, These are the words which the Lord has spoken for [you] to do them.
2 Six days you can work, but the seventh day is to be a holy Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Anyone who does any work on the Sabbath day must be killed.
Six days shall you perform works, but on the seventh day [shall be] rest—a holy sabbath—a rest for the Lord: every one that does work on it, let him die.
3 Don't even light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”
You shall not burn a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath-day; I [am] the Lord.
4 Moses also told all the Israelites, “This is what the Lord has commanded:
And Moses spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the Lord has appointed you, saying,
5 Collect an offering to the Lord from what you have. Everyone who wants to should bring an offering to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze;
Take of yourselves an offering for the Lord: every one that engages in his heart shall bring the first fruits to the Lord; gold, silver, brass,
6 blue, purple, and crimson thread; finely-woven linen and goat hair;
blue, purple, double scarlet spun, and fine linen spun, and goats' hair,
7 tanned ram skins and fine leather; acacia wood;
and rams' skins dyed red, and skins [dyed] blue, and incorruptible wood,
8 olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the aromatic incense;
and sardine stones, and stones for engraving for the shoulder-piece and full-length robe.
9 and onyx stones and gemstones for making the ephod and breastpiece.
And every man that is wise in heart amongst you, let him come and work all things whatever the Lord has commanded.
10 All your skilled craftsmen are to come and make everything the Lord has commanded:
The tabernacle, and the cords, and the coverings, and the rings, and the bars, and the posts,
11 the Tabernacle with its tent and covering, its clips and frames, its crossbars, posts, and stands;
and the ark of the testimony, and its staves, and its propitiatory, and the veil,
12 the Ark with its poles and atonement cover, and the veil to hang over it;
and the curtains of the court, and its posts,
13 the table with its poles, all its equipment, and the Bread of the Presence;
and the emerald stones,
14 the lampstand of light with its equipment and lamps and olive oil to provide lighting;
and the incense, and the anointing oil,
15 the altar of incense with its poles; the anointing oil and aromatic incense; the screen for the Tabernacle entrance and all its accessories;
and the table and all its furniture,
16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grate, its poles and all its utensils; the basin plus its stand;
and the candlestick for the light and all its furniture,
17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the courtyard entrance;
and the altar and all its furniture;
18 the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and for the courtyard, as well as their ropes;
and the holy garments of Aaron the priest, and the garments in which they shall do service;
19 and the woven clothes for serving in the holy place: the sacred clothing for Aaron the priest and for his sons to serve as priests.”
and the garments of priesthood for the sons of Aaron and the anointing oil, and the compound incense.
20 The Israelites left Moses,
And all the congregation of the children of Israel went out from Moses. And they brought, they whose heart prompted them, and they to whoever it seemed good in their mind, each and offering:
21 and all those who felt moved to do so and who had a willing spirit came and brought an offering to the Lord for the work making the Tent of Meeting, for everything required for its services, and for the sacred clothing.
and they brought an offering to the Lord for all the works of the tabernacle of witness, and all its services, and for all the robes of the sanctuary.
22 So everyone who was willing, both men and women, came and presented their gold as a thanks offering to the Lord, including brooches, earrings, rings, and necklaces—all kinds of gold jewelry.
And the men, even every one to whom it seemed good in his heart, brought from the women, [even] brought seals and ear-rings, and finger-rings, and necklaces, and bracelets, every article of gold.
23 Everyone who had blue, purple, and crimson thread, finely-woven linen, goat hair, tanned ram skins, and fine leather, contributed them.
And all as many as brought ornaments of gold to the Lord, and with whoever fine linen was found; and they brought skins [dyed] blue, and rams' skins dyed red.
24 Those who could present an offering of silver or bronze brought it as a gift to the Lord. Everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work donated it.
And every one that offered an offering brought silver and brass, the offerings to the Lord; and [they] with whom was found incorruptible wood; and they brought [offerings] for all the works of the preparation.
25 Every woman skilled in spinning with her hands brought what she had spun: blue, purple, or crimson thread, or finely-woven linen.
And every woman skilled in her heart to spin with her hands, brought spun [articles], the blue, and purple, and scarlet and fine linen.
26 All the women who were willing to use their skills spun the goat hair.
And all the women to whom it seemed good in their heart in their wisdom, spun the goats' hair.
27 The leaders brought onyx stones and gemstones to make the ephod and breastpiece,
And the rulers brought the emerald stones, and the stones for setting in the ephod, and the oracle,
28 as well as spices and olive oil for lighting, for the anointing oil, and for the aromatic incense.
and the compounds both for the anointing oil, and the composition of the incense.
29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought a freewill offering to the Lord for all the work in making what the Lord through Moses had ordered them to do.
And every man and woman whose mind inclined them to come in and do all the works as many as the Lord appointed them to do by Moses—[they] the children of Israel brought an offering to the Lord.
30 Then Moses told the Israelites, “The Lord chosen by name Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah.
And Moses said to the children of Israel, Behold, God has called by name Beseleel the [son] of Urias the [son of] Or, of the tribe of Juda,
31 He has filled him with the Spirit of God giving him ability, creativity, and expertise in all kinds of craftsmanship.
and has filled him with a divine spirit of wisdom and understanding, and knowledge of all things,
32 He can produce designs in gold, silver, and bronze,
to labour skilfully in all works of cunning workmanship, to form the gold and the silver and the brass,
33 he can cut gemstones to place in settings, and he can carve wood. He is a master of every craft.
and to work in stone, and to fashion the wood, and to work in every work of wisdom.
34 The Lord has also given him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
And [God] gave improvement in understanding both to him, and to Eliab the [son] of Achisamach of the tribe of Dan.
35 He has equipped them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and crimson thread, and finely-woven linen, and as weavers—in fact as skilled designers in all kinds of different crafts.
And [God] filled them with wisdom, understanding [and] perception, to understand to work all the works of the sanctuary, and to weave the woven and embroidered work with scarlet and fine linen, to do all work of curious workmanship [and] embroidery.
