Exodus 20
1 God spoke all the following words:
१देवाने ही सर्व वचने सांगितली,
2 “I am the Lord your God, who led you out of Egypt, out of the land of your slavery.
२मी परमेश्वर तुझा देव आहे. ज्याने तुला मिसर देशातून, गुलामगिरीतून सोडवून आणले.
3 You must not have any other gods except me.
३माझ्यासमोर तुला इतर कोणतेही दुसरे देव नसावेत.
4 You must not make for yourself any kind of idol, whether in the form of anything in the heavens above, or on the earth beneath, or in the waters below.
४तू आपल्यासाठी कोरीव मूर्ती करू नकोस; वर आकाशातील, खाली पृथ्वीवरील व पृथ्वीखालच्या जलातील कशाचीही प्रतिमा करू नकोस;
5 You must not bow down before them or worship them; for I am the Lord your God and I am passionately exclusive. I lay the consequences of the sin of those who hate me on their sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons;
५त्यांची सेवा करू नको; किंवा त्यांच्या पाया पडू नकोस; कारण मी परमेश्वर तुझा देव ईर्ष्यावान देव आहे. जे माझा विरोध करतात, त्यांच्या मुलांना तिसऱ्या चौथ्या पिढीपर्यंत वडिलांच्या अपराधाबद्दल शिक्षा करतो;
6 but I show trustworthy love to the thousands of generations who love me and keep my commandments.
६परंतु जे माझ्यावर प्रेम करतात व माझ्या आज्ञा पाळतात अशांच्या हजारो पिढ्यांवर मी दया करतो.
7 You must not use the name of the Lord your God in a wrong way, for the Lord will not forgive anyone who uses his name in a wrong way.
७तुझा देव परमेश्वर याचे नाव तू व्यर्थ घेऊ नकोस; कारण जो परमेश्वराचे नाव व्यर्थ घेईल त्याची तो गय करणार नाही.
8 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
८शब्बाथ दिवस हा पवित्र दिवस म्हणून पाळण्याची आठवण ठेव;
9 You have six days to work and earn your living,
९सहा दिवस श्रम करून तू तुझे कामकाज करावेस;
10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath to honor the Lord your God. On this day you must not do any work—not you, not your son or daughter, not your male slave or female slave or livestock, and not the foreigner who is staying with you.
१०परंतु सातवा दिवस तुझा देव परमेश्वर याचा शब्बाथ आहे, म्हणून त्या दिवशी तू, तुझा पुत्र, तुझी कन्या, तुझे दास व दासी यांनी तसेच तुझे पशू, किंवा तुझ्या वेशीत राहणाऱ्या परकीयांनीही कोणतेही कामकाज करु नये;
11 For the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days, and then rested on the seventh day. That's why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
११कारण परमेश्वराने सहा दिवस काम करून आकाश, पृथ्वी, समुद्र व त्यातील सर्वकाही उत्पन्न केले आणि त्यानंतर सातव्या दिवशी विसावा घेतला; या प्रमाणे परमेश्वराने शब्बाथ दिवस हा आशीर्वाद देऊन तो पवित्र केला आहे.
12 Honor your father and mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
१२आपल्या बापाचा व आपल्या आईचा मान राख म्हणजे त्यामुळे परमेश्वर तुझा देव जो देश तुला देत आहे त्या देशात तू चिरकाळ राहशील.
13 You must not murder.
१३खून करू नकोस.
14 You must not commit adultery.
१४व्यभिचार करू नकोस.
15 You must not steal.
१५चोरी करू नकोस.
16 You must not give false evidence against others.
१६आपल्या शेजाऱ्याविरूद्ध खोटी साक्ष देऊ नकोस.
17 You must not desire to have anyone else's house. You must not desire to have their wife, or their male slave or female slave, or their ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to them.”
१७“तू आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या घराचा लोभ धरू नकोस; आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या पत्नीचा लोभ धरू नकोस; आपल्या शेजाऱ्याचा दासदासी, बैल, गाढव, किंवा त्याच्या कोणत्याही वस्तूचा लोभ धरु नकोस.”
18 When all the people heard the thunder and the sound of the trumpet, and saw the lightning and the smoke from the mountain, they trembled with fear and stood a long way off.
१८लोकांनी पर्वतावरील ढगांचा गडगडाट ऐकला, विजांचा चकचकाट पाहिला, शिंगाचा नाद होत आहे व पर्वतातून धूर वर चढताना पाहून भीतीने त्यांचा थरकाप झाला. ते दूर उभे राहिले.
19 “You speak to us, and we'll listen,” they said to Moses. “But don't let God speak to us, or we'll die.”
१९ते मोशेला म्हणू लागले आमच्याशी तूच बोल, आम्ही ऐकू; देव आमच्याशी न बोलो, तो बोलेल तर आम्ही मरून जाऊ.
20 Moses told them, “Do not be afraid, for God has only come to test you. He wants you to be in awe of him so that you don't sin.”
२०मग मोशे लोकांस म्हणाला, “भिऊ नका, कारण तुमची परीक्षा करावी आणि त्याचे भय तुमच्या डोळ्यांपुढे राहून तुम्ही पाप करू नये यासाठी देव आला आहे.”
21 The people stood a long way off as Moses went over to the thick, dark cloud where God was.
२१मोशे, ढगांच्या दाट अंधारात, जेथे देव होता तेथे गेला, तोपर्यंत लोक पर्वतापासून लांब उभे राहिले.
22 The Lord told Moses, “This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘You saw for yourselves that I spoke with you from heaven.
२२मग परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “तू इस्राएल लोकांस असे सांग, मी तुमच्याशी आकाशातून बोललो हे तुम्ही प्रत्यक्ष पाहिले आहे.
23 You must not make any idols of silver or gold to worship in addition to me.
२३माझ्या बरोबरीला दुसरे देव करू नका आपल्यासाठी सोन्यारुप्याचे देव करू नका.”
24 Make me an altar of earth, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep, goats, and cattle. Wherever I decide to be worshiped, I will come to you and bless you.
२४माझ्यासाठी मातीची वेदी बांधा आणि तिजवर तुझी मेंढरे व तुझे बैल यांची होमार्पणे व शांत्यर्पणे वाहा; जेथे जेथे मी माझ्या नावाची आठवण व्हावी म्हणून मी सांगतो तेथे तेथे मी येऊन तुम्हास आशीर्वाद देईन.
25 Now if you make an altar out of stones for me, you must not build it with cut stones, because if you use a chisel to cut the stone, you make it unholy.
२५तुम्ही जर दगडाची वेदी बांधणार असाल तर ती घडलेल्या चिऱ्याची नसावी; कारण तुम्ही आपले हत्यार दगडाला लावल्यास तो भ्रष्ट होईल.
26 Also, you must not go up to my altar using steps, so your private parts are not seen.’”
२६तुझ्या शरीराची नग्नता माझ्या वेदीवर दिसून येऊ नये म्हणून तू पायऱ्यांनी चढता कामा नये.
