< Ecclesiastes 11 >

1 Send your bread out on the surface of the water, and many days later you will find it again.
Fún àkàrà rẹ sórí omi, nítorí lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ púpọ̀, ìwọ yóò rí i padà.
2 Share what you own with seven or eight people, for you never know what disaster could happen.
Fi ìpín fún méje, àní fún mẹ́jọ pẹ̀lú, nítorí ìwọ kò mọ ohun ìparun tí ó le è wá sórí ilẹ̀.
3 When the clouds are full they pour rain down upon the earth. Whether a tree falls to the north or to the south, it stays where it fell.
Bí àwọsánmọ̀ bá kún fún omi, ayé ni wọ́n ń rọ òjò sí. Bí igi wó sí ìhà gúúsù tàbí sí ìhà àríwá, níbi tí ó wó sí náà, ni yóò dùbúlẹ̀ sí.
4 The farmer who pays attention to the direction of the wind knows when not to sow, and by watching the clouds knows when not to reap.
Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá ń wo afẹ́fẹ́ kò ní fúnrúgbìn; ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá ń wo àwọsánmọ̀ kò ní kórè.
5 Just as you don't know how the breath of life comes to the child in its mother's womb, so you can't understand the work of God, the Creator of everything.
Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwọ kò ti ṣe mọ ojú ọ̀nà afẹ́fẹ́ tàbí mọ bí ọmọ tí ń dàgbà nínú ikùn ìyáarẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ náà ni ìwọ kò le è ní òye iṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run ẹlẹ́dàá ohun gbogbo.
6 In the morning, sow your seed. In the evening, don't stop. For you have no way of knowing which crop will grow well—one may be profitable, or the other—or maybe both.
Fún irúgbìn rẹ ní òwúrọ̀ kùtùkùtù, má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ rẹ ṣọlẹ̀ ní àṣálẹ́, nítorí ìwọ kò mọ èyí tí yóò ṣe rere bóyá èyí tàbí ìyẹn tàbí àwọn méjèèjì ni yóò ṣe dáradára bákan náà.
7 How sweet it is to live in the light, to see the sun rise on another day.
Ìmọ́lẹ̀ dùn; Ó sì dára fún ojú láti rí oòrùn.
8 May you live for many years, and may you enjoy them all. But remember there will many days of darkness, and all that is to come is uncertain.
Ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ kí ènìyàn jẹ̀gbádùn gbogbo iye ọdún tí ó le è lò láyé ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ kí ó rántí ọjọ́ òkùnkùn nítorí wọn ó pọ̀. Gbogbo ohun tí ó ń bọ̀ asán ni.
9 Young people, enjoy your youth! Be happy with what's good! While you're young, let your mind guide your life, and do as you think best. But remember that God will judge you for all your thoughts and actions.
Jẹ́ kí inú rẹ dùn, ìwọ ọ̀dọ́mọdé ní ìgbà tí o wà ní èwe kí o sì jẹ́ kí ọkàn rẹ fún ọ ní ayọ̀ ní ìgbà èwe rẹ. Tẹ̀lé ọ̀nà ọkàn rẹ àti ohunkóhun tí ojú rẹ rí ṣùgbọ́n mọ̀ dájú pé nípa gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni Ọlọ́run yóò mú ọ wá sí ìdájọ́.
10 So don't let your mind worry, and avoid things that hurt your body. Even so, despite youth and enthusiasm, life is still so hard to understand!
Nítorí náà, mú ìjayà kúrò ní ọkàn rẹ kí o sì lé ìbànújẹ́ ara rẹ kúrò nítorí èwe àti kékeré kò ní ìtumọ̀.
