Deuteronomy 21
1 Someone may be found murdered, lying in a field in the country that the Lord your God is giving you to own, and nobody knows who killed them.
Yoo namni tokko biyya Waaqayyo Waaqni kee akka dhaaltuuf siif kennu keessatti duʼee argamee namni isa ajjeese hin beekamin,
2 Your elders and judges must come and measure the distance from the body to the surrounding towns.
maanguddoonni keetii fi abbootiin murtii kee dhaqanii fageenya iddoo inni itti duʼee fi magaalaawwan itti dhiʼaatan gidduu jiru haa safaran.
3 Then the elders of the town that's found to be nearest to the body shall take a cow that has never been put under a yoke or used for work.
Ergasiis maanguddoonni magaalaa reeffichatti aantu keessa jiraatan goromsa takkumaa hin hojjetin kan waanjoo hin baatin fuudhanii
4 Take the cow to a valley that has a stream running through it and whose ground has never been plowed or sown. Break the cow's neck there beside the stream.
goromsa sana gara sulula hin qotamin yookaan wanni tokko iyyuu irra hin facaafamin kan bishaan yaaʼu qabuutti haa geessan. Sulula sana keessattis morma goromsa sanaa haa cabsan.
5 The Levitical priests must be there too, because the Lord your God has chosen them to serve him and to give blessings in his name, and to decide on legal disputes and cases of assault.
Luboonni jechuunis ilmaan Lewwii sababii akka tajaajilanii fi akka maqaa Waaqayyootiin eebbisaniif, akka dubbii wal dhabiisaatii fi miidhaa dhagnaa kami irratti iyyuu murtii kennaniif Waaqayyo Waaqa keetiin filatamaniif isaan fuulduraatti haa dhiʼaatan.
6 Then all the elders of the town nearest the body are to wash their hands in the stream over the dead cow, saying,
Ergasii maanguddoonni magaalaa reeffichatti baayʼee dhiʼaatuu hundi goromsa sulula keessatti mormi cabsame sana irratti harka isaanii haa dhiqatan.
7 “We had nothing to do with this murder, and we didn't see who did it.
Isaanis akkana haa jedhan: “Harki keenya dhiiga kana hin dhangalaafne yookaan yommuu wanni kun hojjetame iji keenya hin argine.
8 Lord, please forgive your people Israel who you rescued, and do not hold them guilty of shedding of innocent blood In this way the guilt for shedding blood will be forgiven.”
Yaa Waaqayyo, aarsaa araaraa kana saba kee Israaʼel kan furte sanaaf fudhadhu; dhiiga nama qulqulluu kanaas saba keetti hin herregin. Yakkii dhiiga dhangalaafamees isaanii haa dhiifamu.
9 This is how you are to remove from yourselves the guilt of shedding innocent blood, since you have done what is right in the Lord's sight.
Atis sababii waan fuula Waaqayyoo duratti qajeelaa taʼe hojjetteef yakka dhangalaafamuu dhiiga nama qajeelaa akkasiin gidduu keetii ni balleessita.”
10 When you go to war with your enemies and the Lord your God hands them over to you in defeat, and you capture them,
Ati yommuu diinota kee loluuf duultee Waaqayyo Waaqni kee dabarsee harka keetti isaan siif kennee boojuu fudhattutti,
11 you may see that one of them is a beautiful woman who you like and want to marry.
yoo warra boojiʼaman keessatti dubartii bareedduu tokko argitee ishee jaallatte niitii ofii keetii godhattee ishee fuudhuu dandeessa.
12 Take her home and have her shave her head, cut her nails,
Mana keetti ishee galchi; isheenis mataa ishee haa haaddattu; qeensa ishees haa qorattu;
13 and get rid of the clothes she was wearing when she was captured. After she has lived in your home and has finished her month of mourning for her father and mother, you may sleep with her and marry her, and she shall be your wife.
uffata isheen yeroo boojiʼamtetti uffachaa turtes irraa baasi. Erga isheen mana kee keessa jiraattee jiʼa tokko guutuu abbaa fi haadha isheetiif boossee booddee ati ishee wajjin ciiftee dhirsa ishee taʼuu dandeessa; isheenis niitii kee ni taati.
14 However, if you are not happy with her, you must let her leave and go wherever she wants. You are not allowed to sell her for money or treat her like a slave, because you have brought shame on her.
Ati yoo isheetti gammaduu baatte akka isheen gara feete deemtu gad dhiisi. Ati waan ishee salphifteef ishee gurguruu yookaan akka garbittiitti ishee ilaaluu hin qabdu.
15 If a man has two wives, one he loves and one he doesn't, and both have sons by him, but the firstborn son is from the wife he doesn't love,
Namni tokko yoo niitota lama qabaatee ishee tokko jaallatee garuu lamaan isaanii iyyuu ilmaan daʼaniif, yoo ilmi hangafni niitii inni hin jaallanne sana irraa dhalate,
16 when the time comes for the man to decide what each son will inherit from him, he must not prefer the son of wife he loves and treat him as the firstborn instead of the son of the wife he doesn't love.
namichi yommuu qabeenya isaa ilmaan isaatiif qoodutti mirga hangafummaa ilma niitii jibbe sanaa ilma niitii jaallatuutiif dabarsee kennuu hin qabu.
17 No. He is to recognize the firstborn, the son of the wife he doesn't love through the usual custom of giving him a double portion of all that he owns. The firstborn son is the firstfruits of his father's strength, and so the rights of the firstborn are his.
Garuu ilma hangafticha niitii hin jaallanne sana irraa dhalcheef qooda dhaala isaa keessaa harka lama kennuufiidhaan isa beeksisuu qaba. Ilmi sun mallattoo jalqabaa kan jabina abbaa isaa ti. Mirgi hangafummaa kan isaa ti.
18 If someone has a obstinate and rebellious son who doesn't obey his parents and doesn't obey them even when he's punished,
Namni tokko yoo ilma mata jabeessaa fi fincilaa abbaa fi haadha isaatiif hin ajajamnee fi kan yommuu isa adaban hin dhageenye qabaate,
19 his parents must take him to the town elders, to the court in his hometown,
abbaa fi haati isaa qabanii balbala magaalaa isaa duratti maanguddootatti isa haa fidan.
20 and tell them, “Our son is obstinate and rebellious, He doesn't obey us. He's a worthless drunk!”
Isaanis, “Gurbaan keenya kun mata jabeessaa fi fincilaa dha; nuuf hin ajajamu; inni albaadhessaa fi machooftuu dha” jedhanii maanguddootatti haa himan.
21 Then all the men of his home town will stone him to death. You must eliminate the evil from among you, and every Israelite will hear about it and be afraid.
Ergasiis namoonni magaalaa isaa hundi dhagaadhaan tumanii isa ajjeesu. Ati hamaa of gidduudhaa baasuu qabda. Israaʼeloonni hundi waan kana dhagaʼanii ni sodaatu.
22 If someone commits a crime punishable by death, and the person is executed by hanging on a tree,
Yoo namni tokko cubbuu adabbii duʼa isatti mursiisu hojjetee ajjeefamee reeffi isaa mukatti fannifame,
23 don't leave the body hanging there overnight. Make sure you bury the body the same day, because anyone who is hung is under God's curse. Don't defile the country that the Lord your God is giving you to own.
ati reeffa isaa muka irra bulchuu hin qabdu. Waan namni muka irratti fannifamu abaarsa Waaqaa jala jiruuf isa gaafuma sana awwaali. Ati biyya Waaqayyo Waaqni kee akka dhaalaatti siif kennu hin xureessin.
