Daniel 3
1 King Nebuchadnezzar had a gold statue made that was sixty cubits tall and six cubits wide. He had it set up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
೧ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಅರುವತ್ತು ಮೊಳ ಎತ್ತರದ, ಆರು ಮೊಳ ಅಗಲದ ಒಂದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಬಾಬೆಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ದೂರಾ ಎಂಬ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
2 Then he summoned the provincial governors, prefects, local governors, counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the statue he had set up.
೨ಆಗ ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ತಾನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೋತ್ಸವಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪರಾಜ, ನಾಯಕ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿ, ಮಂತ್ರಿ, ಕೋಶಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿ, ವಿಚಾರಕ ಮುಂತಾದವರನ್ನೂ, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
3 They all came to the dedication of the statue Nebuchadnezzar had set up and stood in front of it.
೩ಆ ಉಪರಾಜ, ನಾಯಕ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿ, ಮಂತ್ರಿ, ಕೋಶಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿ, ವಿಚಾರಕ ಇವರೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೋತ್ಸವಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರೆದು, ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡರು.
4 Then a herald announced in a loud voice, “People of all nations and languages, pay attention to the king's command!
೪ಆಗ ಸಾರುವವನು ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿ, “ವಿವಿಧ ಜನಾಂಗ, ಕುಲ, ಭಾಷೆಗಳವರೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
5 As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, trigon, harp, pipes, and all kinds of musical instruments, you must fall to the ground and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
೫ನೀವು ತುತ್ತೂರಿ, ಕೊಳಲು, ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ತಂಬೂರಿ, ವೀಣೆ, ವಾಲಗ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಕಲ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿರುವ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಬೇಕು.
6 Anyone who doesn't immediately fall down and worship will be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire.”
೬ಯಾವನು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಸಾರಿದನು.
7 So when all the people heard the sound of the musical instruments they all fell down—the people of all nations and languages worshiped the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
೭ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನಾಂಗ, ಕುಲ, ಭಾಷೆಗಳವರು ತುತ್ತೂರಿ, ಕೊಳಲು, ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ತಂಬೂರಿ, ವೀಣೆ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಕಲ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಿದರು.
8 Right then some of the astrologers came forward and made accusations against the Jews.
೮ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಪಂಡಿತರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೊರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗೆ ಬಂದು
9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “May Your Majesty the king live forever!
೯ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನೇ, ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರು!
10 Your Majesty has decreed that everyone who hears the sound of the musical instruments shall fall down and worship the gold statue,
೧೦ಪ್ರಭುವೇ, ತುತ್ತೂರಿ, ಕೊಳಲು, ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ತಂಬೂರಿ, ವೀಣೆ, ವಾಲಗ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಕಲ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಲಿ.
11 and that anyone who does not shall be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire.
೧೧“ಯಾರು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವನು ಧಗಧಗಿಸುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞೆಮಾಡಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ.
12 But there are some Jews that you placed in charge of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—who pay no attention to Your Majesty's decree. They do not serve your gods and will not worship the gold statue you set up.”
೧೨ನೀನು ಬಾಬೆಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕಾರ್ಯಭಾರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾಜನೇ, ಇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದರು.
13 This made Nebuchadnezzar absolutely furious. “Bring me Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!” he demanded. So they were brought before the king.
೧೩ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಉಗ್ರರೋಷವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
14 “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, are you deliberately refusing to serve my gods and worship the gold statue I set up?” asked the king.
೧೪ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತರಲು ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರೇ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸದೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸದೆ ಇರುವುದು ಬೇಕೆಂದೇ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೋ?
15 “Are you ready now to fall down and worship the statue I had made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments? If you don't, you will be immediately thrown into the furnace of blazing fire, and there's no god who can save you from my power!”
೧೫“ಈಗಲಾದರೂ ನೀವು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದು ತುತ್ತೂರಿ, ಕೊಳಲು, ಕಿನ್ನರಿ, ತಂಬೂರಿ, ವೀಣೆ, ವಾಲಗ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಕಲ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳ ಧ್ವನಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು, ನಾನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಿದರೆ ಸರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವಿರಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಬಲ್ಲ ದೇವರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
16 “King Nebuchadnezzar, we don't need to defend ourselves before you over this,” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied.
೧೬ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಶದ್ರಕ್ ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರು ರಾಜನಿಗೆ, “ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನೇ, ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.
17 “If our God whom we serve so wishes, he is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire. He will save us from your power, Your Majesty.
೧೭‘ಅರಸನೇ, ನಾವು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ತವಿದ್ದರೆ ಆತನು ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಬಲ್ಲನು; ಹೇಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವನು.
18 But even if he does not, Your Majesty needs to know that we would never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
೧೮ಚಿತ್ತವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ರಾಜನೇ, ಇದು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
19 This made Nebuchadnezzar so angry with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that his face twisted in rage. “Make the furnace seven times hotter than normal!” he ordered.
೧೯ಆಗ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಕೋಪೋದ್ರೇಕದಿಂದ ಮುಖಭಾವವನ್ನು ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಏಳರಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉರಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
20 Then he commanded some of his strongest soldiers, “Tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the furnace of blazing fire!”
೨೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಶೂರರಿಗೆ ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಎತ್ತಿಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
21 So they were tied up, fully dressed in their coats, trousers, turbans, and other clothes, and thrown into the furnace of blazing fire.
೨೧ಅದರಂತೆ ಶಲ್ಯ, ಇಜಾರು, ಮುಂಡಾಸ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
22 Because the king's command was so harsh in making the furnace so extremely hot, the flames killed the soldiers who threw them in.
೨೨ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದಲೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಕಾವು ಅತಿ ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣವಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯು ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಾಕಿದವರನ್ನೇ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
23 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, still tied up, fell into the furnace of blazing fire.
೨೩ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಈ ಮೂವರು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರಾಗಿ ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದುಬಿಟ್ಟರು.
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar suddenly jumped up in amazement. “Didn't we throw three men tied up into the furnace?” he asked his advisors. “Yes, that's right, Your Majesty,” they replied.
೨೪ಆಗ ರಾಜನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬಿದ್ದು, ತಟ್ಟನೆ ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಿಗೆ, “ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೂವರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರು ರಾಜನಿಗೆ, “ಅರಸನೇ, ಹೌದು, ಹಾಕಿರುವುದು ಸತ್ಯ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
25 “Look!” he cried out. “How is it that I can see four men, not tied up, walking around in the fire and not being burned? And the fourth one looks like a god!”
೨೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ಕಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲದ ನಾಲ್ವರನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರುಗಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಹಾನಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ; ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯವನ ರೂಪವು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನ ರೂಪದಂತಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
26 Nebuchadnezzar went towards the door of the furnace of blazing fire. “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” he shouted. So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the fire.
೨೬ಆಗ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು ಧಗಧಗನೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, “ಪರಾತ್ಪರದೇವರ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರೇ ಬನ್ನಿ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಲು, ಶದ್ರಕ್ ಮೇಶಕ್ ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಬೆಂಕಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದರು.
27 The provincial governors, prefects, local governors, and the king's advisors gathered around them and saw that the fire had not harmed them. Their hair wasn't singed, their clothes weren't scorched—there wasn't even the smell of smoke!
೨೭ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ ಉಪರಾಜ, ನಾಯಕ, ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿ, ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರವು ನಡೆದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ತಲೆಕೂದಲೂ ಸುಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ಶಲ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಕಾರವಿಲ್ಲ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ವಾಸನೆಯೇ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು.
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel and he rescued his servants who trusted in him! They disobeyed my royal command, putting their lives on the line, and refused to worship any other gods except their God.
೨೮ಆಗ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನು, “ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವಾಗಲಿ! ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟು ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನೇ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾವ ದೇವರನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸಬಾರದೆಂದು ಸ್ವದೇಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೇ.
29 Consequently I am issuing a decree that if anyone of any nation or language speaks disrespectfully about the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego they will be torn to pieces and their houses will be destroyed. There is no other God who is able to save like this!”
೨೯ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗ, ಕುಲ, ಭಾಷೆಗಳವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರ ದೇವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲ ಸಲ್ಲದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ತುಂಡುತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಪ್ಪೆಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಲು ಸಮರ್ಥನಾದ ಇನ್ಯಾವ ದೇವರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
30 Then Nebuchadnezzar promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, giving them even greater responsibilities in the province of Babylon.
೩೦ಬಳಿಕ ರಾಜನು ಶದ್ರಕ್, ಮೇಶಕ್, ಅಬೇದ್ನೆಗೋ ಎಂಬುವವರನ್ನು ಬಾಬೆಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಪದವಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿದನು.
