Colossians 4
1 You masters, treat your servants in a way that is right and fair, recognizing that you too have a Master in heaven.
Ihr Herren, gewähret euren [W. den] Knechten, [O. Sklaven] was recht und billig ist, da ihr wisset, daß auch ihr einen Herrn in den Himmeln habt.
2 Remember to keep on praying, with an alert and thankful mind!
Beharret im Gebet und wachet in demselben mit Danksagung;
3 Pray for us too that God may open a door of opportunity to spread the message, to tell about the revealed mystery of Christ—which is the reason I'm here in prison.
und betet zugleich auch für uns, auf daß Gott uns eine Tür des Wortes auftue, um das Geheimnis des Christus zu reden, um deswillen ich auch gebunden bin,
4 Pray that I may make it as clear as I should when I speak.
auf daß ich es offenbare, wie ich reden soll.
5 Behave wisely with outsiders, making the best use of every opportunity.
Wandelt in Weisheit gegen die, welche draußen sind, die gelegene Zeit auskaufend.
6 Always be gracious when you speak. Make sure it's in good taste, and think about how best to answer everyone.
Euer Wort sei allezeit in Gnade, mit Salz gewürzt, um zu wissen, wie ihr jedem einzelnen antworten sollt.
7 Tychicus will tell you all about what's happening to me. He's a dear brother, a trustworthy minister and co-worker in the Lord.
Alles, was mich angeht, wird euch Tychikus kundtun, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener und Mitknecht [O. Mitsklave] in dem Herrn,
8 I'm sending him to you for this very reason—so that you'll know how things are with me and this will cheer you up.
den ich eben dieserhalb zu euch gesandt habe, auf daß er eure Umstände erfahre und eure Herzen tröste,
9 Onesimus is going with him too, a trusted and dear brother, who's one of you. They'll explain to you everything that's going on here.
mit Onesimus, dem treuen und geliebten Bruder, der von euch ist; sie werden euch alles kundtun, was hier vorgeht.
10 Aristarchus who's with me here in prison sends his best wishes; likewise Mark, Barnabas' cousin (you've already had instructions to welcome him if he visits you),
Es grüßt euch Aristarchus, mein Mitgefangener, und Markus, der Neffe [O. Vetter] des Barnabas, betreffs dessen ihr Befehle erhalten habt [wenn er zu euch kommt, so nehmet ihn auf],
11 and Jesus—also called Justus—who are the only Jewish Christians among those working with me here for the kingdom of God, men who have been a great help to me.
und Jesus, genannt Justus, die aus der Beschneidung sind. Diese allein sind Mitarbeiter am Reiche Gottes, die mir ein Trost gewesen sind.
12 Epaphras who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends his greetings. He's always passionate in his prayers on your behalf, praying that you'll stand firm as grown-up Christians, totally convinced about everything as God would want.
Es grüßt euch Epaphras, der von euch ist, ein Knecht [O. Sklave] Christi Jesu, der allezeit für euch ringt in den Gebeten, auf daß ihr stehet vollkommen und völlig überzeugt in allem Willen Gottes.
13 For the record I can tell you that he's done a lot for you, and for those in Laodicea and Hierapolis as well.
Denn ich gebe ihm Zeugnis, daß er viel Mühe hat um euch und die in Laodicäa und die in Hierapolis.
14 Luke, our dear doctor, and Demas also send their best.
Es grüßt euch Lukas, der geliebte Arzt, und Demas.
15 Greet the believers that are in Laodicea—Nympha too, and the church that meets in her house.
Grüßet die Brüder in Laodicäa, und Nymphas und die Versammlung, die in seinem Hause ist.
16 And when this letter has been read to you, make sure it's read to the church in Laodicea too, and that you also read the letter sent to Laodicea.
Und wenn der Brief bei euch gelesen ist, so machet, daß er auch in der Versammlung der Laodicäer gelesen werde, und daß auch ihr den aus Laodicäa leset;
17 Tell Archippus, “See that you follow through in doing the ministry God gave you.”
und saget Archippus: Sieh auf den Dienst, den du im Herrn empfangen hast, daß du ihn erfüllest.
18 I Paul write my closing greetings with my own hand. Remember I'm in prison. Grace be with you.
Der Gruß mit meiner, des Paulus, Hand. Gedenket meiner Bande. Die Gnade sei mit euch!
