< Amos 7 >
1 This is what the Lord God showed me. I saw that he was preparing a swarm of locusts just when the spring crops began to grow. (Spring crops begin to grow right after the time when the king's hay is cut.)
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa Olódùmarè fihàn mí: Ó pèsè ọwọ́ eṣú lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí a kórè ìpín ọba, ní ìgbà ti èso ẹ̀ẹ̀kejì ń jáde bọ̀.
2 And so when the locusts finished eating every green plant in the fields, I pleaded with the Lord God, “Please forgive your people! How can the descendants of Jacob survive? They are so weak.”
3 So the Lord changed his mind. “It won't happen,” said the Lord.
Olúwa ronúpìwàdà nípa èyí. “Èyí kò ni ṣẹlẹ̀,” ni Olúwa wí.
4 This is what the Lord God showed me. I saw that the Lord God was calling for a judgment of fire. The fire burned up the depths of the sea and destroyed the farmland.
Èyí ni ohun ti Olúwa Olódùmarè fihàn mí: Olúwa Olódùmarè ń pè fún ìdájọ́ pẹ̀lú iná; ó jó ọ̀gbun ńlá rún, ó sì jẹ ilẹ̀ run.
5 I pleaded with the Lord God, “Please stop! How can the descendants of Jacob survive? They are so weak.”
6 So the Lord changed his mind. “This too won't happen,” said the Lord.
Olúwa ronúpìwàdà nípa èyí. “Èyí náà kò ní ṣẹlẹ̀,” ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí.
7 This is what he showed me. I saw the Lord was standing beside a wall that had been built with a plumb line. He was holding a plumb line in his hand.
Èyí ni ohun tí ó fihàn mí: Olúwa dúró ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ odi ti a fi okùn ìwọ̀n mọ́, ti òun ti okùn ìwọ̀n tí ó rún ni ọwọ́ rẹ̀.
8 And the Lord asked me, “Amos, what do you see?” I replied, “A plumb line.” And the Lord God said, “I am placing a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel. I won't ignore their sins anymore.
Olúwa sì bi mi pé, “Amosi, kí ni ìwọ rí?” Mo dáhùn pé, “Okùn ìwọ̀n.” Nígbà náà ni Olúwa wí pé, “Wò ó, Èmí ń gbé okùn ìwọ̀n kalẹ̀ láàrín àwọn Israẹli ènìyàn mi; Èmi kì yóò sì tún kọjá lọ́dọ̀ wọn mọ́.
9 The high places of the descendents of Isaac will be torn down, and the holy places of Israel will be destroyed. Sword in hand, I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam.”
“Ibi gíga Isaaki wọ̀n-ọn-nì yóò sì di ahoro àti ibi mímọ Israẹli wọ̀n-ọn-nì yóò di ahoro. Èmi yóò sì fi idà dìde sí ilé Jeroboamu.”
10 Then Amaziah, priest of Bethel, sent a message to Jeroboam, king of Israel, saying, “Amos is plotting against you among the people of Israel. What he's saying is unbearable!
Nígbà náà Amasiah àlùfáà Beteli ránṣẹ́ sí Jeroboamu ọba Israẹli, wí pé: “Amosi ti dìde láti dìtẹ̀ sí ọ ni àárín gbùngbùn Israẹli. Ilẹ̀ kò sì le gba gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀.
11 For he's saying Jeroboam will be killed by the sword, and the people will be taken away from their land into exile.”
Nítorí èyí ni ohun ti Amosi ń sọ: “‘Jeroboamu yóò ti ipa idà kú, lóòtítọ́ Israẹli yóò lọ sí ìgbèkùn, jìnnà kúrò ní ilẹ̀ ìní wọn.’”
12 Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away prophet! Run away to the land of Judah. Go and prophesy there to earn your bread.
Nígbà náà ni Amasiah sọ fún Amosi pé, “Lọ jáde, ìwọ aríran! Padà sí ilẹ̀ àwọn Juda. Kí o máa jẹun rẹ níbẹ̀, kí o sì máa sọtẹ́lẹ̀ rẹ̀ níbẹ̀.
13 But don't ever prophesy again at Bethel, for this is where the king worships, the national Temple.”
Má ṣe sọtẹ́lẹ̀ mọ ni Beteli nítorí ibi mímọ́ ọba ni àti ibi tẹmpili ìjọba rẹ̀.”
14 But Amos replied, “I'm not a trained prophet, or the son of a prophet. I was just a shepherd, and also took care of fig trees.
Amosi dá Amasiah lóhùn pé, “Èmi kì í ṣe wòlíì tàbí àwọn ọmọ wòlíì, ṣùgbọ́n mo jẹ́ olùṣọ́-àgùntàn, mo sì ń ṣe ìtọ́jú igi ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ sikamore.
15 The Lord took me from following my flock, and the Lord told me, ‘Go, and give my message to my people of Israel.’”
Ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa mu mi bí mo ti ń tọ́ agbo ẹran lẹ́yìn, ó sì wí fun mi pé, ‘Lọ sọtẹ́lẹ̀ fun àwọn Israẹli ènìyàn mi.’
16 So now hear what the Lord is telling you: You say, “Don't prophesy against Israel, and don't preach against the descendants of Isaac.”
Nítorí náà nísinsin yìí, gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa. Ìwọ wí pé, “‘Má ṣe sọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀ sí Israẹli, má sì ṣe wàásù sí ilé Isaaki.’
17 But this is what the Lord says: Your wife will become a prostitute in the city; your sons and daughters will be killed by the sword. Your land will be measured and divided up, and you yourself will die in a foreign land. The people of Israel will definitely be taken from the land and go into exile.
“Nítorí náà, èyí ni ohun ti Olúwa wí: “‘Ìyàwó rẹ yóò di panṣágà ni ìlú, àwọn ọmọ ọkùnrin àti obìnrin rẹ yóò ti ipa idà ṣubú. A ó fi okùn wọn ilẹ̀ rẹ, a ó sì pín in àti ìwọ pẹ̀lú yóò kú ni ilẹ̀ àìmọ́. Israẹli yóò sì lọ sí ìgbèkùn, kúrò ní ilẹ̀ ìní wọn.’”
