< Amos 6 >

1 How disastrous it will be for you who have an easy life in Zion, and you who feel secure living on Mount Samaria—you who are the most famous men in all of Israel to whom people come for help!
Ohe ada nahiuve, Jerusalem khopia nomsatah’a chengho, chuleh Samaria khopia lungmong tah’a khosa ho! Namtin vaipi lah’a naminthang lheh’un, chuleh mihon napanpina ngaichan nakom a ahung jiuve.
2 But go to Calneh, and see what took place there. Then go on to the great city of Hamath, and down to the Philistine city of Gath. Were they better kingdoms than yours? Did they have more territory than you?
Amavang Calneh lhang galkaijun vetem un, chuteng Hamath khopilen a chun chepaijun, chuleh Philistine khopi Gath a jong chesuh un, nangho amaho sang’a phajo nahideh pouve, vetem un, amaho iti manthah hitauvem!
3 You put out of your minds any thought of coming disaster, yet you are bringing closer the time when violence reigns.
Nanghon nachung uva hamsetna hunglhung vahlou dingin nagel’un, ahinlah, pumhat’a nathilbol’u chun thutanna nikho chu nakiloilut loijiuve.
4 How disastrous it will be for you people who lie on beds decorated with ivory and lounge on couches, eating lamb from your flocks and fattened calves from the stall.
Ohe ada nahiuve, saiha-a kisem jalkhun’a kijamlea, chuleh nomtah’a kijaole ho, Kelngoinou lah’a adei dei kitha-a neho, chuleh bonghon lah’a athao adei lailai kitha-a neho,
5 You make up songs accompanied by the harp, thinking you're great composers like David.
Nanghon selangdah tum ging toh thon lakoila pou nasa uvin, chuleh kithepsah tah in David umchan na tho uvin, tumging thei manchah nakisem thu’uve.
6 You drink wine by the bowlful, and anoint yourselves with the finest oils, but you do not grieve over the ruin of Joseph's descendants.
Nanghon khon dim dim in lengpitwi nadon’un, chuleh thao namtwi pen nakinu uvin, Na nampiu manthah chu lunggim nan nanei pouve.
7 So you will be at the head of those led away into exile; the feasting and lazing around will be over.
Hijeh’a chu, nangho gal-hing’a sohchang masapen’a napan diu, chutah leh nomtah’a khosaho chu, anopsahnau abon’a beisoh hel ding ahi.
8 The Lord God has sworn an oath on his own life. This is what the Lord God of power declares: I detest Jacob's arrogance and I hate his fortresses; I will hand over this city and all in it to the enemy.
Hatchungnung Pakai chu, amatah min in akihahsel in, chuleh Pakai van Pathen ahina chun hitin aseiye, “Israel mite louchalna kaho in, chuleh akulpi sem’u jong ka kidah’e. Hijeh chun, hiche khopi leh asunga um chengse abon’a, amelmateu kapehdoh ding ahi,’’ ati.
9 If there are ten people in a house, they will die.
Ijemtia insung khat’a ahingdoh mison khat aum nahlai leh, amaho jong chu abonchauva thisoh hel diu ahi.
10 And when a relative comes to take away the bodies from the house, he will ask someone inside “Is there anyone else with you?” The person will reply, “No...” Then the other will say, “Quiet! Don't even mention the Lord's name.”
Insung mikhattou, amopohna dung jui'a asopu thisaho govam ding kigo-a, insunga kon’a lhilongho ahinputdoh phatleh, insungmi ahingdoh pen kom’a chu, midang jong um nalaijem? tia adoh khah leh, ama chun kihahsel’a “Aum poi, pao poh hih in! Pakai chu amin jeng jong iphah pohlou hel diu ahibouve,’’ ati ding, apho ding ahi.
11 Watch out! When the Lord gives the command, large houses will be reduced to rubble, and small houses smashed to pieces.
Ajeh chu vetan, in loupitah tah hojong ahalsi sia kisugep ding, chuleh in neocha cha hojong kivo goisoh hel ding ahiuve,’’ tin Pakaiyin thupeh anei tai.
12 Can horses gallop over rocks? Can oxen plow the sea? But you have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of doing good into bitterness!
Songpi chunga khu sakolte chomle le thei mong’a, hiche lah chu bongchal in loukaina-a akaithei mong ding ham? Hitobang chun, nanghon ngolhoi tah in, thu adih’a kitan chu thina gu-twi na sosah uvin, chuleh adihtah’a hung ga doh twitah chu nehmohel khacheh-chuh na sodoh gam tauvin ahi.
13 You joyfully celebrate your conquest of Lodebar, and say “Didn't we in our own strength capture Karnaim?”
Chuleh nanghon Lo-debar chunga nagaljonau chu nakithang-at piuvin, kiletsahtah in, eihon eiho thahat’a karnaim chu ilah’u hilou ham? na kitiuve.
14 Watch out, people of Israel! I am going to send an enemy nation to attack you, says the Lord God of power, and they will oppress you from the Pass of Hamath to the Arabah Valley.
“Vo Israel mite, nangho douding melma namkhat katildoh ding ahi,’’ tin Pakai van Pathen chun aseiye. ‘’Amahon nangho nagamsung uva nasuh genthei diu, sahlam’a Leb-hamath apat noilam’a Arabah phaicham geija nasuh genthei diu ahi,’’ati.
