< Amos 3 >
1 People of Israel, listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you—all of you, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt.
Ẹ gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa ti sọ nípa rẹ̀, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Israẹli nípa àwọn ìdílé tí mo mú jáde láti Ejibiti:
2 I chose a special relationship with you alone out of all the families of the earth, and so I will punish you for your wrongdoing.
“Ìwọ nìkan ni ẹni tí mo yàn nínú gbogbo àwọn ìran ayé yìí; nígbà náà èmi ó jẹ ọ́ ní yà fún gbogbo ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ.”
3 Can two people walk together unless they have arranged to meet?
Ẹni méjì ha à le rìn pọ̀ láìjẹ́ pé wọ́n ti pinnu láti ṣe bẹ?
4 Does a lion roar in the forest before finding its prey? Does a young lion growl from its den if it has caught nothing?
Ǹjẹ́ Kìnnìún yóò ha bú ramúramù nínú igbó, bí kò bá ní ohun ọdẹ? Ọmọ kìnnìún yóò ha ké jáde nínú ìhó rẹ̀ bí kò bá rí ohun kan mú?
5 Does a bird fall into a trap and get caught unless the spring is set? Does a trap spring shut if there's nothing there to catch?
Ǹjẹ́ ẹyẹ ṣubú sínú okùn ọdẹ lórí ilẹ̀ nígbà tí a kò dẹ okùn ọdẹ fún un? Okùn ọdẹ ha lè hù jáde lórí ilẹ̀ nígbà tí kò sí ohun tí yóò mú?
6 When the trumpet sounds in the city, shouldn't the people be alarmed? When a disaster comes to a city, isn't it the Lord who does it?
Nígbà tí ìpè bá dún ní ìlú, àwọn ènìyàn kò ha bẹ̀rù? Tí ewu bá wa lórí ìlú kò ha ṣe Olúwa ni ó fà á?
7 For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his intentions to his servants the prophets.
Nítòótọ́ Olúwa Olódùmarè kò ṣe ohun kan láìfi èrò rẹ̀ hàn fun àwọn wòlíì ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
8 The lion has roared—so who isn't scared? The Lord God has spoken—so who can refuse to speak for him?
Kìnnìún ti bú ramúramù ta ni kì yóò bẹ̀rù? Olúwa Olódùmarè ti sọ̀rọ̀ ta ni le ṣe àìsọ àsọtẹ́lẹ̀?
9 Announce this to the fortresses of Ashdod and to the fortresses in the land of Egypt: Assemble yourselves on Samaria's mountains and see all the turmoil and oppression happening in the country.
Ẹ kéde ní ààfin Aṣdodu àti ní ààfin ní ilẹ̀ Ejibiti. “Ẹ kó ara yín jọ sí orí òkè ńlá Samaria; kí ẹ sì wo ìrọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀ ńlá láàrín rẹ̀ àti ìnilára láàrín àwọn ènìyàn rẹ.”
10 They don't know how to do what is right, declares the Lord. They have stored up in their fortresses what they've taken by violence and robbery.
“Wọn kò mọ bí wọ́n ṣe ń ṣe rere,” ni Olúwa wí, “àwọn ẹni tí ó gba àwọn ìwà ipá àti olè sí ààfin rẹ̀.”
11 As a result, says the Lord, an enemy will surround you, break down your strongholds, and plunder your fortresses.
Nítorí náà, báyìí ni Olúwa Olódùmarè wí: “Àwọn ọ̀tá yóò pa ilẹ̀ náà run; yóò wó ibi gíga yín palẹ̀ a ó sì ba ààfin rẹ̀ jẹ́.”
12 This is what the Lord says: Just as a shepherd tries to rescue a sheep from a lion's mouth, but only saves a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, so it will be for the people of Israel living in Samaria—all that will be “saved” will be the corner of a couch and a piece of a leg from a bed.
Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: “Bí olùṣọ́-àgùntàn ti ń gbà itan méjì kúrò ní ẹnu kìnnìún tàbí ẹ̀là etí kan bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a ó mú àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, tí ń gbé Samaria kúrò ní igun ibùsùn wọn ní orí àga ìrọ̀gbọ̀kú wọn ní Damasku.”
13 Listen! Warn the house of Jacob, declares the Lord God of power.
“Gbọ́ èyí kí o sì jẹ́rìí nípa ilé Jakọbu,” ni Olúwa wí, Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ-ogun.
14 For on that day I will punish Israel for their sins. I will destroy the altars of Bethel: the corners of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.
“Ní ọjọ́ tí mo fìyà jẹ Israẹli lórí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn, Èmi yóò pa pẹpẹ Beteli run; ìwo pẹpẹ ni a ó ké kúrò yóò sì wó lulẹ̀.
15 I will tear down their winter houses and their summer houses as well, their houses filled with ivory will be ruined—their many houses will be destroyed.
Èmi yóò wó ilé òtútù lulẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ilé ooru; ilé tí a fi eyín erin ṣe lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́ yóò ṣègbé a ó sì pa ilé ńlá náà run,” ni Olúwa wí.
