< Amos 3 >
1 People of Israel, listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you—all of you, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt.
Mwet Israel, porongo kas inge su LEUM GOD El fahk keiwos, mutunfacl nufon se su El kolma liki Egypt, ac fahk:
2 I chose a special relationship with you alone out of all the families of the earth, and so I will punish you for your wrongdoing.
“Inmasrlon mutunfacl nukewa fin faclu, kowos mukena pa nga sulela ac arulana nunku kac, pa pwanang ma koluk kowos orala arulana yohk nunkeya sik. Ac pa inge sripa se oru nga enenu in kalyei kowos.”
3 Can two people walk together unless they have arranged to meet?
Ya mwet luo ku in tukeni fahsr nu yen se elos fin tia aetuila meet?
4 Does a lion roar in the forest before finding its prey? Does a young lion growl from its den if it has caught nothing?
Ya lion soko ku in ngutngut insak uh fin wangin ma el akola in uniya? Ya soko lion fusr el kou in luf sel fin wangin ma el sruokya?
5 Does a bird fall into a trap and get caught unless the spring is set? Does a trap spring shut if there's nothing there to catch?
Ya sie won ku in sruhu in sruhf se fin wangin pa itukyang nu kac? Sruhf se ku in pisryak fin wangin ma toanya in pusrukak?
6 When the trumpet sounds in the city, shouldn't the people be alarmed? When a disaster comes to a city, isn't it the Lord who does it?
Mwe ukuk lun mweun fin kasla in siti uh, ya mwet uh ku in tia sangeng? Ya mwe ongoiya ku in sun sie siti fin tia ma LEUM GOD El supwama?
7 For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his intentions to his servants the prophets.
LEUM GOD Fulat El tia ku in oru kutena ma El fin tia akkalemye meet nu sin mwet kulansap lal, mwet palu.
8 The lion has roared—so who isn't scared? The Lord God has spoken—so who can refuse to speak for him?
Lion soko fin ngutngut, su ac tia sangeng kac? Pacl LEUM GOD Fulat El kaskas, su ku in kutongya ac tia fahkelik?
9 Announce this to the fortresses of Ashdod and to the fortresses in the land of Egypt: Assemble yourselves on Samaria's mountains and see all the turmoil and oppression happening in the country.
Fahkak nu selos su muta inkul fulat in acn Egypt ac in siti Ashdod, ac fahk, “Fahsreni nu fin inging rauneak Samaria, ac liye fohs lulap ac ma koluk yohk ma orek in acn we.”
10 They don't know how to do what is right, declares the Lord. They have stored up in their fortresses what they've taken by violence and robbery.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet inge nwakla lohm lulap selos ke ma elos eisla ke inkanek koluk ac sulallal. Elos tiana etu in moul suwohs ac pwaye.
11 As a result, says the Lord, an enemy will surround you, break down your strongholds, and plunder your fortresses.
Ke ma inge mwet lokoalok fah raunela acn selos, kunausla nien wikwik ku lalos, ac pisrala koanon lohm lulap selos.”
12 This is what the Lord says: Just as a shepherd tries to rescue a sheep from a lion's mouth, but only saves a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, so it will be for the people of Israel living in Samaria—all that will be “saved” will be the corner of a couch and a piece of a leg from a bed.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Oana ke sie mwet shepherd el ac srukak nia luo na, ku la insren soko sheep ma soko lion kangla, ouinge mwet pu na sin mwet Samaria ac fah moulla, wi siena ipin mwe oan kialos, ku ip srisrik ke mwe muta fisrasrsrasr lalos.
13 Listen! Warn the house of Jacob, declares the Lord God of power.
LEUM GOD Fulat ac Kulana El fahk, “Inge kowos in porongo, ac sulkakin ma inge nu sin fwil natul Jacob.
14 For on that day I will punish Israel for their sins. I will destroy the altars of Bethel: the corners of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.
Ke pacl se nga ac kalyei mwet Israel ke sripen ma koluk lalos uh, nga ac fah kunausla loang in siti Bethel. Insruwasrik ke loang nukewa fah kipatpat uh ac putatla nu infohk uh.
15 I will tear down their winter houses and their summer houses as well, their houses filled with ivory will be ruined—their many houses will be destroyed.
Nga fah kunausla lohm ma musaiyuk nu ke pacl mihsrisr, ac lohm nu ke pacl fol. Lohm nukewa ma naweyukla ke ivory fah ikori ac mwesri, ac lohm lulap nukewa fah musalla.”
