Amos 3
1 People of Israel, listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you—all of you, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt.
Pamatia kining pulong nga gipamulong ni Jehova batok kaninyo, Oh mga anak sa Israel, batok sa tibook nga banay nga gikuha ko gikan sa yuta sa Egipto, nga nagaingon:
2 I chose a special relationship with you alone out of all the families of the earth, and so I will punish you for your wrongdoing.
Kamo lamang ang akong giila sa tanang mga kabanayan sa yuta: busa pagadu-awon ko kamo tungod sa tanan ninyong mga kasal-anan.
3 Can two people walk together unless they have arranged to meet?
Magakakuyog ba ang duruha gawas kong sila magakauyon?
4 Does a lion roar in the forest before finding its prey? Does a young lion growl from its den if it has caught nothing?
Mongulob ba diay ang leon didto sa kalasangan, sa diha nga siya walay tukbonon? mouwang ba diay ang batan-ong leon diha sa iyang lungib kong siya wala makasignit?
5 Does a bird fall into a trap and get caught unless the spring is set? Does a trap spring shut if there's nothing there to catch?
Malit-agan ba ang usa ka langgam kong walay paon nga gibutang alang kaniya? moturok ba ang usa ka lit-ag sa yuta ug unya wala gayud ing makuha?
6 When the trumpet sounds in the city, shouldn't the people be alarmed? When a disaster comes to a city, isn't it the Lord who does it?
Sulod sa ciudad ang trompeta patingogon ba alang sa gubat, ug ang katawohan dili diay mahadlok? mahulog ba lamang ang kadautan sa usa ka ciudad, ug kini sa dili pagbuot ni Jehova?
7 For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his intentions to his servants the prophets.
Sa pagkamatuod ang Ginoong Jehova dili magbuhat sa bisan unsa, gawas kong ang iyang tinago ipadayag niya sa iyang mga alagad, ang mga manalagna.
8 The lion has roared—so who isn't scared? The Lord God has spoken—so who can refuse to speak for him?
Ang leon mingulob na; kinsay dili mahadlok? Ang Ginoong Jehova namulong niini; kinsay makahimo nga dili motagna?
9 Announce this to the fortresses of Ashdod and to the fortresses in the land of Egypt: Assemble yourselves on Samaria's mountains and see all the turmoil and oppression happening in the country.
Imantala ninyo sa mga palacio sa Asdod, ug sa mga palacio sa yuta sa Egipto, ug umingon kamo: Panagtigum kamo sa inyong kaugalingon ibabaw sa kabukiran sa Samaria, ug tan-awa kong unsa ang dagkung kasamok didto, ug kong unsa ang pagdaugdaug sa kinataliwad-an niana.
10 They don't know how to do what is right, declares the Lord. They have stored up in their fortresses what they've taken by violence and robbery.
Kay sila dili mahibalo nga mobuhat sa matarung, nagaingon si Jehova, nila nagatipig mga bahandi nga linupigan ug tinulis sulod sa ilang mga palacio.
11 As a result, says the Lord, an enemy will surround you, break down your strongholds, and plunder your fortresses.
Busa mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoong Jehova: Ang kabatok magalibut bisan sa tibook nga yuta; ug kuhaon niya ang imong kalig-on gikan kanimo, ug ang imong mga palacio pagatulison.
12 This is what the Lord says: Just as a shepherd tries to rescue a sheep from a lion's mouth, but only saves a couple of legs or a piece of an ear, so it will be for the people of Israel living in Samaria—all that will be “saved” will be the corner of a couch and a piece of a leg from a bed.
Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Ingon nga ang usa ka magbalantay magasakgaw gikan sa baba sa leon sa duha ka mga paa, kun usa ka gihi sa dalunggan, sa ingon niini pagaluwason ang mga anak sa Israel nga nagapaoraray sa Samaria diha sa nasikohan sa kama, ug ibabaw sa mga unlan nga seda sa usa ka higdaanan.
13 Listen! Warn the house of Jacob, declares the Lord God of power.
Pamati kamo, ug panagsaksi batok sa balay ni Jacob, nagaingon ang Ginoong Jehova, ang Dios sa mga panon.
14 For on that day I will punish Israel for their sins. I will destroy the altars of Bethel: the corners of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground.
Kay sa adlaw nga pagadu-awon ko ang kalapasan sa Israel ibabaw kaniya, du-awon ko usab ang mga halaran sa Beth-el; ug ang mga sungay sa halaran pagaputlon, ug mangatagak sa yuta.
15 I will tear down their winter houses and their summer houses as well, their houses filled with ivory will be ruined—their many houses will be destroyed.
Ug lumpagon ko ang balay-sa-tingtugnaw uban sa balay-sa-ting-init; ug ang mga balay nga garing mangahanaw, ug ang mga dagkung balay may katapusan, nagaingon si Jehova.
