Acts 25
1 Three days after Festus had arrived in the province he left Caesarea to go to Jerusalem.
அநந்தரம்’ பீ²ஷ்டோ நிஜராஜ்யம் ஆக³த்ய தி³நத்ரயாத் பரம்’ கைஸரியாதோ யிரூஸா²லம்நக³ரம் ஆக³மத்|
2 The chief priests and Jewish leaders came to him and brought their charges against Paul.
ததா³ மஹாயாஜகோ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ ப்ரதா⁴நலோகாஸ்²ச தஸ்ய ஸமக்ஷம்’ பௌலம் அபாவத³ந்த|
3 They begged Festus as a favor to send Paul to Jerusalem, plotting to ambush and kill him on the way.
ப⁴வாந் தம்’ யிரூஸா²லமம் ஆநேதும் ஆஜ்ஞாபயத்விதி விநீய தே தஸ்மாத்³ அநுக்³ரஹம்’ வாஞ்சி²தவந்த: |
4 But Festus replied that Paul was in custody at Caesarea and that he himself would be there shortly.
யத: பதி²மத்⁴யே கோ³பநேந பௌலம்’ ஹந்தும்’ தை ர்கா⁴தகா நியுக்தா: | பீ²ஷ்ட உத்தரம்’ த³த்தவாந் பௌல: கைஸரியாயாம்’ ஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி புநரல்பதி³நாத் பரம் அஹம்’ தத்ர யாஸ்யாமி|
5 “Your leaders can come with me, and make their accusation against this man, if he has done anything wrong,” he told them.
ததஸ்தஸ்ய மாநுஷஸ்ய யதி³ கஸ்²சித்³ அபராத⁴ஸ்திஷ்ட²தி தர்ஹி யுஷ்மாகம்’ யே ஸ²க்நுவந்தி தே மயா ஸஹ தத்ர க³த்வா தமபவத³ந்து ஸ ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாந்|
6 After staying there with them for no more than eight or ten days, Festus returned to Caesarea. The following day he took his seat as judge, and ordered that Paul be brought before him.
த³ஸ²தி³வஸேப்⁴யோ(அ)தி⁴கம்’ விலம்ப்³ய பீ²ஷ்டஸ்தஸ்மாத் கைஸரியாநக³ரம்’ க³த்வா பரஸ்மிந் தி³வஸே விசாராஸந உபதி³ஸ்²ய பௌலம் ஆநேதும் ஆஜ்ஞாபயத்|
7 When he came in the Jews that had come from Jerusalem surrounded him and brought many serious charges against him that they couldn't prove.
பௌலே ஸமுபஸ்தி²தே ஸதி யிரூஸா²லம்நக³ராத்³ ஆக³தா யிஹூதீ³யலோகாஸ்தம்’ சதுர்தி³ஸி² ஸம்’வேஷ்ட்ய தஸ்ய விருத்³த⁴ம்’ ப³ஹூந் மஹாதோ³ஷாந் உத்தா²பிதவந்த: கிந்து தேஷாம்’ கிமபி ப்ரமாணம்’ தா³தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நுவந்த: |
8 Paul defended himself, telling them, “I have not sinned at all against the Jewish law, the Temple, or Caesar.”
தத: பௌல: ஸ்வஸ்மிந் உத்தரமித³ம் உதி³தவாந், யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²யா மந்தி³ரஸ்ய கைஸரஸ்ய வா ப்ரதிகூலம்’ கிமபி கர்ம்ம நாஹம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|
9 But Festus, who was looking to gain favor with the Jews, asked Paul, “Are you willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried before me there about these matters?”
கிந்து பீ²ஷ்டோ யிஹூதீ³யாந் ஸந்துஷ்டாந் கர்த்தும் அபி⁴லஷந் பௌலம் அபா⁴ஷத த்வம்’ கிம்’ யிரூஸா²லமம்’ க³த்வாஸ்மிந் அபி⁴யோகே³ மம ஸாக்ஷாத்³ விசாரிதோ ப⁴விஷ்யஸி?
10 “I'm standing before Caesar's court to be tried, right where I should be,” Paul replied. “I have not done any wrong to the Jews, as you very well know.
தத: பௌல உத்தரம்’ ப்ரோக்தவாந், யத்ர மம விசாரோ ப⁴விதும்’ யோக்³ய: கைஸரஸ்ய தத்ர விசாராஸந ஏவ ஸமுபஸ்தி²தோஸ்மி; அஹம்’ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ காமபி ஹாநிம்’ நாகார்ஷம் இதி ப⁴வாந் யதா²ர்த²தோ விஜாநாதி|
11 If I've committed a crime and have done something that deserves death, I do not ask to be pardoned from a death sentence. But if there's no substance to these accusations they're making against me, then nobody has the right to hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar!”
கஞ்சித³பராத⁴ம்’ கிஞ்சந வதா⁴ர்ஹம்’ கர்ம்ம வா யத்³யஹம் அகரிஷ்யம்’ தர்ஹி ப்ராணஹநநத³ண்ட³மபி போ⁴க்தும் உத்³யதோ(அ)ப⁴விஷ்யம்’, கிந்து தே மம ஸமபவாத³ம்’ குர்வ்வந்தி ஸ யதி³ கல்பிதமாத்ரோ ப⁴வதி தர்ஹி தேஷாம்’ கரேஷு மாம்’ ஸமர்பயிதும்’ கஸ்யாப்யதி⁴காரோ நாஸ்தி, கைஸரஸ்ய நிகடே மம விசாரோ ப⁴வது|
12 Festus then conferred with the council, and replied, “You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you shall go!”
ததா³ பீ²ஷ்டோ மந்த்ரிபி⁴: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ஸம்’மந்த்ர்ய பௌலாய கதி²தவாந், கைஸரஸ்ய நிகடே கிம்’ தவ விசாரோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி? கைஸரஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ க³மிஷ்யஸி|
13 Several days later, King Agrippa and his sister Bernice arrived in Caesarea and came to pay their respects to Festus.
கியத்³தி³நேப்⁴ய: பரம் ஆக்³ரிப்பராஜா ப³ர்ணீகீ ச பீ²ஷ்டம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத் கர்த்தும்’ கைஸரியாநக³ரம் ஆக³தவந்தௌ|
14 They were staying some time so Festus presented Paul's case to the king, explaining, “There's a man that Felix left as a prisoner here.
ததா³ தௌ ப³ஹுதி³நாநி தத்ர ஸ்தி²தௌ தத: பீ²ஷ்டஸ்தம்’ ராஜாநம்’ பௌலஸ்ய கதா²ம்’ விஜ்ஞாப்ய கத²யிதும் ஆரப⁴த பௌலநாமாநம் ஏகம்’ ப³ந்தி³ பீ²லிக்ஷோ ப³த்³த⁴ம்’ ஸம்’ஸ்தா²ப்ய க³தவாந்|
15 When I was in Jerusalem, the Jewish chief priests and leaders came and made accusations against him and asked me to sentence him.
யிரூஸா²லமி மம ஸ்தி²திகாலே மஹாயாஜகோ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ ப்ராசீநலோகாஸ்²ச தம் அபோத்³ய தம்ப்ரதி த³ண்டா³ஜ்ஞாம்’ ப்ரார்த²யந்த|
16 I replied that it is not according to Roman law to convict anyone without having them face their accusers and giving them the opportunity to defend themselves against the charges.
ததோஹம் இத்யுத்தரம் அவத³ம்’ யாவத்³ அபோதி³தோ ஜந: ஸ்வாபவாத³காந் ஸாக்ஷாத் க்ரு’த்வா ஸ்வஸ்மிந் யோ(அ)பராத⁴ ஆரோபிதஸ்தஸ்ய ப்ரத்யுத்தரம்’ தா³தும்’ ஸுயோக³ம்’ ந ப்ராப்நோதி, தாவத்காலம்’ கஸ்யாபி மாநுஷஸ்ய ப்ராணநாஸா²ஜ்ஞாபநம்’ ரோமிலோகாநாம்’ ரீதி ர்நஹி|
17 So when his accusers arrived here, I wasted no time and convened the court the very next day. I ordered the man to be brought in.
ததஸ்தேஷ்வத்ராக³தேஷு பரஸ்மிந் தி³வஸே(அ)ஹம் அவிலம்ப³ம்’ விசாராஸந உபவிஸ்²ய தம்’ மாநுஷம் ஆநேதும் ஆஜ்ஞாபயம்|
18 However, when the accusers got up they didn't bring charges of criminal acts as I expected.
தத³நந்தரம்’ தஸ்யாபவாத³கா உபஸ்தா²ய யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம் அஹம்’ சிந்திதவாந் தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கஞ்சந மஹாபவாத³ம்’ நோத்தா²ப்ய
19 Instead they brought up controversies over religious questions, and over a man called Jesus who was dead but whom Paul insisted was alive.
ஸ்வேஷாம்’ மதே ததா² பௌலோ யம்’ ஸஜீவம்’ வத³தி தஸ்மிந் யீஸு²நாமநி ம்ரு’தஜநே ச தஸ்ய விருத்³த⁴ம்’ கதி²தவந்த: |
20 Since I was undecided as to how to proceed in investigating such matters, I asked him if he was willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried there.
ததோஹம்’ தாத்³ரு’க்³விசாரே ஸம்’ஸ²யாந: ஸந் கதி²தவாந் த்வம்’ யிரூஸா²லமம்’ க³த்வா கிம்’ தத்ர விசாரிதோ ப⁴விதும் இச்ச²ஸி?
21 However, Paul appealed for his case to be heard by the emperor, so I ordered him detained until I could send him to Caesar.”
ததா³ பௌலோ மஹாராஜஸ்ய நிகடே விசாரிதோ ப⁴விதும்’ ப்ரார்த²யத, தஸ்மாத்³ யாவத்காலம்’ தம்’ கைஸரஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ ப்ரேஷயிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோமி தாவத்காலம்’ தமத்ர ஸ்தா²பயிதும் ஆதி³ஷ்டவாந்|
22 “I would like to hear the man myself,” Agrippa told Festus. “I'll arrange for you to hear him tomorrow,” Festus replied.
தத ஆக்³ரிப்ப: பீ²ஷ்டம் உக்தவாந், அஹமபி தஸ்ய மாநுஷஸ்ய கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ரோதும் அபி⁴லஷாமி| ததா³ பீ²ஷ்டோ வ்யாஹரத் ஸ்²வஸ்ததீ³யாம்’ கதா²ம்’ த்வம்’ ஸ்²ரோஷ்யஸி|
23 The next day Agrippa arrived with Bernice in great ceremonial splendor and entered the auditorium with the commanders and leading citizens. Then Festus ordered Paul to be brought in.
பரஸ்மிந் தி³வஸே ஆக்³ரிப்போ ப³ர்ணீகீ ச மஹாஸமாக³மம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ப்ரதா⁴நவாஹிநீபதிபி⁴ ர்நக³ரஸ்த²ப்ரதா⁴நலோகைஸ்²ச ஸஹ மிலித்வா ராஜக்³ரு’ஹமாக³த்ய ஸமுபஸ்தி²தௌ ததா³ பீ²ஷ்டஸ்யாஜ்ஞயா பௌல ஆநீதோ(அ)ப⁴வத்|
24 “King Agrippa, and everyone who is present here with us,” Festus began, “you see before you this man whom all the Jewish people, both here and in Jerusalem, have complained to me about, shouting that he shouldn't be allowed to live.
ததா³ பீ²ஷ்ட: கதி²தவாந் ஹே ராஜந் ஆக்³ரிப்ப ஹே உபஸ்தி²தா: ஸர்வ்வே லோகா யிரூஸா²லம்நக³ரே யிஹூதீ³யலோகஸமூஹோ யஸ்மிந் மாநுஷே மம ஸமீபே நிவேத³நம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ப்ரோச்சை: கதா²மிமாம்’ கதி²தவாந் புநரல்பகாலமபி தஸ்ய ஜீவநம்’ நோசிதம்’ தமேதம்’ மாநுஷம்’ பஸ்²யத|
25 However, I discovered he has not committed any crime that deserves death, and since he has appealed to the emperor I decided to send him there.
கிந்த்வேஷ ஜந: ப்ராணநாஸ²ர்ஹம்’ கிமபி கர்ம்ம ந க்ரு’தவாந் இத்யஜாநாம்’ ததா²பி ஸ மஹாராஜஸ்ய ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ விசாரிதோ ப⁴விதும்’ ப்ரார்த²யத தஸ்மாத் தஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ தம்’ ப்ரேஷயிதும்’ மதிமகரவம்|
26 But I don't have anything specific to write about him to His Imperial Majesty. That's why I have brought him before you so I can have something definite to write.
கிந்து ஸ்ரீயுக்தஸ்ய ஸமீபம் ஏதஸ்மிந் கிம்’ லேக²நீயம் இத்யஸ்ய கஸ்யசிந் நிர்ணயஸ்ய ந ஜாதத்வாத்³ ஏதஸ்ய விசாரே ஸதி யதா²ஹம்’ லேகி²தும்’ கிஞ்சந நிஸ்²சிதம்’ ப்ராப்நோமி தத³ர்த²ம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமக்ஷம்’ விஸே²ஷதோ ஹே ஆக்³ரிப்பராஜ ப⁴வத: ஸமக்ஷம் ஏதம் ஆநயே|
27 It doesn't seem fair to me to send on a prisoner without explaining the charges made against him.”
யதோ ப³ந்தி³ப்ரேஷணஸமயே தஸ்யாபி⁴யோக³ஸ்ய கிஞ்சித³லேக²நம் அஹம் அயுக்தம்’ ஜாநாமி|
