Acts 16
1 Paul went first to Derbe, and then on to Lystra, where he met a believer by the name of Timothy. He was the son of a Jewish Christian mother, and his father was Greek.
၁ပေါလုသည်ဒေရဗေမြို့နှင့်လုတ္တရမြို့သို့ရောက် ရှိလာ၏။ လုတ္တရမြို့တွင်တိမောသေနာမည်ရှိ သောတပည့်တော်တစ်ဦးရှိ၏။ သူ၏မိခင်သည် ယုံကြည်သူယုဒအမျိုးသမီးဖြစ်သော်လည်း သူ၏ဖခင်မှာဂရိအမျိုးသားဖြစ်၏။-
2 The brothers at Lystra and Iconium spoke well of him.
၂သူသည်လုတ္တရမြို့နှင့်ဣကောနိမြို့ရှိ ညီအစ် ကိုတို့၏ချီးမွမ်းခြင်းကိုခံရ၏။-
3 Paul wanted Timothy to travel with him, so he circumcised him because the Jews in the area all knew that Timothy's father was Greek.
၃ပေါလုသည်သူ့ကိုမိမိနှင့်အတူလိုက်စေလို သဖြင့် သူ့အားအရေဖျားလှီးမင်္ဂလာပေး၏။ ဤသို့ပြုရခြင်းအကြောင်းမှာတိမောသေ၏ ဖခင်သည်ဂရိအမျိုးသားဖြစ်ကြောင်း ထို အရပ်ရှိယုဒအမျိုးသားတို့သိကြသော ကြောင့်ဖြစ်၏။-
4 As they went through the different towns they gave them the requirements the apostles and elders in Jerusalem had said should be observed.
၄သူတို့သည်မြို့များကိုဖြတ်၍သွားကြသော အခါ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့၌နေသောတမန်တော် များနှင့်အသင်းတော်လူကြီးများပြဋ္ဌာန်း သောပညတ်များကိုရှင်းလင်းပြောပြကာ ယုံကြည်သူတို့လိုက်နာကျင့်သုံးရန်ညွှန် ကြားကြ၏။-
5 The churches were strengthened in their trust in the Lord and every day their numbers increased.
၅သို့ဖြစ်၍အသင်းတော်တို့၏ယုံကြည်ခြင်း ပိုမိုခိုင်မြဲလာလျက် နေ့စဉ်နေ့တိုင်းအရေ အတွက်အားဖြင့်တိုးတက်များပြားလား ၏။
6 They traveled through the districts of Phrygia and Galatia, since the Holy Spirit prevented them from going to the province of Asia to speak the word.
၆သူတို့သည်ဖြုဂိပြည်နှင့်ဂလာတိပြည်တို့ ကိုဖြတ်သွားကြ၏။ သန့်ရှင်းသောဝိညာဉ်တော် သည် သူတို့အားအာရှပြည်၌နှုတ်ကပတ်တရား တော်ကိုဟောပြောခွင့်ပေးတော်မမူ။-
7 When they arrived at the border of Mysia they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to enter.
၇သူတို့သည်မုသိပြည်နယ်စပ်သို့ရောက်ကြသော အခါ ဗိသုန်ပြည်သို့သွားရန်ကြိုးစားကြ၏။ သို့ရာတွင်သခင်ယေရှု၏ဝိညာဉ်တော်ကခွင့် ပြုတော်မမူသဖြင့်၊-
8 So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.
၈မုသိပြည်ကိုဖြတ်၍တရောမြို့သို့ရောက်ကြ၏။-
9 There Paul saw in vision during the night a man from Macedonia standing up, pleading with him, “Please come over to Macedonia and help us!”
၉ပေါလုသည်ညဥ့်အခါဗျာဒိတ်ရူပါရုံတွင် ``မာကေဒေါနိပြည်သို့ဖြတ်ကူး၍အကျွန်ုပ် တို့အားကူညီမစပါ'' ဟုမာကေဒေါနိ ပြည်သားတစ်ယောက်သည်ရပ်လျက်တောင်းပန် နေသည်ကိုမြင်ရ၏။-
10 After Paul saw this vision, we immediately made arrangements to go to Macedonia, since we concluded that God had called us to share the good news with them.
၁၀ဤသို့ဗျာဒိတ်ရူပါရုံကိုပေါလုမြင်ပြီးနောက် ချက်ချင်းပင်ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည်မာကေဒေါနိပြည် သို့သွားရန်ပြင်ဆင်ကြ၏။ အဘယ်ကြောင့်ဆို သော်မာကေဒေါနိပြည်သားတို့အားသတင်း ကောင်းကိုဟောပြောရန် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အားဘုရား သခင်စေခိုင်းတော်မူသည်ဟုဆုံးဖြတ်ချက် ချကြခြင်းကြောင့်ဖြစ်၏။
11 We set sail from Troas and made straight for Samothrace. The next day we went on to Neapolis,
၁၁ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည်တရောမြို့မှသာမောသရက် ကျွန်းသို့ တည့်တည့်သင်္ဘောလွှင့်ကြရာနောက် တစ်နေ့၌နာပေါလိမြို့သို့ရောက်ကြ၏။-
12 and from there to Philippi, the most important town in Macedonia, and also a Roman colony. We stayed in this city for several days.
၁၂ထိုမြို့မှဖိလိပ္ပိမြို့သို့သွားကြ၏။ ဖိလိပ္ပိမြို့ ကားမာကေဒေါနိပြည်ပထမနယ်၏မြို့တစ် မြို့ဖြစ်၏။ ရောမအမျိုးသားတို့အခြေစိုက် ရာမြို့လည်းဖြစ်၏။ ထိုမြို့တွင်ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ရက်ပေါင်းများစွာနေထိုင်ကြပြီးသည့်နောက်၊-
13 On the Sabbath day we went out of the town gates down to the riverside where we thought people would come to pray. We sat down and talked with the women that had gathered there.
၁၃ဥပုသ်နေ့၌မြို့တံခါးအပြင်သို့ထွက်ကြ၏။ ထိုနောက်ဆုတောင်းပတ္ထနာပြုရန်နေရာရှိမည် အထင်နှင့်မြစ်ကမ်းနားသို့သွားရောက်၍ ထို အရပ်တွင်စုဝေးလျက်နေသည့်အမျိုးသမီး တို့အားဟောပြောကြ၏။-
14 One of them was called Lydia, who sold purple cloth from the town of Thyatira. She worshiped God, and she listened to us. The Lord opened her mind to what Paul was saying, and she accepted what he told her.
၁၄ထိုသူတို့အထဲတွင်သွာတိရဲမြို့သူ၊ ကမ္ဗလာ နီအထည်ကုန်သည်လုဒိနာမည်ရှိအမျိုး သမီးတစ်ယောက်ပါ၏။ သူသည်ဘုရားသခင် အားကိုးကွယ်သူတစ်ဦးဖြစ်၏။ သခင်ဘုရား သည်ပေါလုဟောပြောလျက်နေသောတရား စကားများကိုအာရုံစိုက်စေရန် ထိုအမျိုး သမီး၏စိတ်နှလုံးကိုပြုပြင်တော်မူ၏။-
15 After she and all her household were baptized, she pleaded with us, “If you really think that I'm truly committed to the Lord, then come and stay at my house.” She kept on insisting until we agreed!
၁၅သူနှင့်တကွအိမ်သူအိမ်သားတို့သည်ဗတ္တိဇံ မင်္ဂလာခံယူကြ၏။ ထိုနောက်လုဒိက ``ကျွန်မ သည်သခင်ဘုရားကိုအကယ်ပင်ယုံကြည်သူ ဖြစ်သည်ဟု သင်တို့လက်ခံပါလျှင်ကျွန်မ၏ အိမ်သို့လာရောက်တည်းခိုကြပါ'' ဟုကျွန်ုပ် တို့အားဖျောင်းဖျလေသည်။
16 One day when we were going down to the place of prayer we met a slave girl possessed by an evil spirit. She earned her masters a great deal of money by fortune-telling.
၁၆တစ်နေ့သ၌ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည်ဆုတောင်းပတ္ထနာ ပြုရာအရပ်သို့သွားကြစဉ် ဗေဒင်ဟောနိုင် သောနတ်မိစ္ဆာပူးဝင်နေသူ၊ ငွေဝယ်ကျွန်မိန်းမ ငယ်တစ်ယောက်နှင့်တွေ့ဆုံ၏။ သူသည်ဤသို့ ဗေဒင်ဟောပြောခြင်းဖြင့် မိမိ၏သခင်ဖြစ် သူတို့အားကြေးငွေအမြောက်အမြား ရရှိစေ၏။-
17 This girl followed Paul and the rest of us around, shouting, “These men are the servants of Almighty God. They are telling you how to be saved!”
၁၇ထိုကျွန်မသည်ပေါလုနှင့်ကျွန်ုပ်တို့နောက် သို့လိုက်လျက် ``ဤသူတို့ကားအမြင့်ဆုံး သောဘုရား၏အစေခံများဖြစ်၍ သင်တို့ အားကယ်တင်ခြင်းတရားကိုဟောပြော သူများတည်း'' ဟုဟစ်အော်လေ၏။-
18 She went on doing this for several days. This bothered Paul so he turned around and told the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to leave her!” The spirit immediately left her.
၁၈ထိုသူငယ်မသည်ဤသို့ရက်ပေါင်းများစွာ ဟစ်အော်လျက်နေသဖြင့် ပေါလုသည်လွန်စွာ စိတ်အနှောင့်အယှက်ဖြစ်ရကား နောက်သို့လှည့် ၍ ``သင်သည်သူငယ်မအထဲမှထွက်သွားလော့။ ယေရှုခရစ်၏နာမတော်ကိုအမှီပြု၍ သင့် အားငါအမိန့်ပေး၏'' ဟုနတ်မိစ္ဆာအားဆို၏။ ထိုခဏ၌ပင်လျှင်နတ်မိစ္ဆာသည်ထွက်သွား ၏။-
19 But when her masters saw they had lost their means of making money, they grabbed hold of Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace.
၁၉သူငယ်မ၏သခင်ဖြစ်သူတို့သည် မိမိတို့ ငွေဝင်ပေါက်ပိတ်သွားကြောင်းသိရှိကြသော အခါ ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့ကိုဖမ်းဆီး၍ အာဏာပိုင်များရှိရာမြို့တွင်းမြေကွက် လပ်သို့ဆွဲခေါ်သွားကြ၏။-
20 They brought them in front of the magistrates, and accused them: “These Jewish men are causing a great disturbance in our town,” they said.
၂၀ရောမအရာရှိတို့၏ရှေ့သို့ရောက်သောအခါ ``ဤသူတို့သည်ယုဒအမျိုးသားများဖြစ် ပါသည်။ ကျွန်တော်တို့မြို့တွင်ဆူပူမှုဖြစ် အောင်ပြုလျက်နေကြပါသည်။-
21 “They're advocating things that are illegal for us as Romans to accept or to practice.”
၂၁ကျွန်တော်တို့တရားဥပဒေများနှင့် ဆန့်ကျင် သောထုံးတမ်းစဉ်လာများကိုသွန်သင်နေကြ ပါသည်။ ရောမအမျိုးသားများအနေဖြင့် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ထိုထုံးတမ်းစဉ်လာများကို လက်မခံနိုင်၊ မကျင့်သုံးနိုင်ပါ'' ဟုလျှောက် ထားကြ၏။-
22 The crowd joined together in an attack on them. The magistrates tore off Paul and Silas' clothes, and ordered them beaten with rods.
၂၂လူပရိသတ်ကလည်း ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့ ကိုဝိုင်း၍စွပ်စွဲကြ၏။ အရာရှိတို့သည်ထိုသူနှစ်ဦး၏အဝတ်များကို ဆွဲဖြဲ၍ ကြိမ်ဒဏ်ပေးစေရန်အမိန့်ချမှတ်ကြ၏။-
23 After giving them a severe beating, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them locked up.
၂၃စစ်သားများသည်လည်းပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့ကို ပြင်းထန်စွာကြိမ်ဒဏ်ပေးပြီးလျှင်ထောင်ချထား ကြ၏။ သူတို့အားလုံခြုံစွာချုပ်နှောင်ထားရန် အမိန့်အရ၊-
24 The jailer followed his orders. He threw Paul and Silas into the inner cell and shackled their feet in the stocks.
၂၄ထောင်မှူးသည်သူတို့အားအလုံထောင်သို့သွင်း ပြီးလျှင် ခြေများကိုထိတ်ခတ်၍ထားလေ၏။
25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
၂၅သန်းခေါင်အချိန်ခန့်၌ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့သည် ပတ္ထနာပြုကာဘုရားသခင်၏ကျေးဇူးတော် ကိုချီးမွမ်းသီဆိုလျက်နေကြ၏။-
26 Suddenly a tremendous earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. Immediately all the doors flew open and everyone's chains fell off.
၂၆ထိုအခါရုတ်တရက်မြေငလျင်ပြင်းစွာလှုပ် သဖြင့် အကျဉ်းထောင်၏အုတ်မြစ်သည်လှုပ်ရှား သွား၏။ ထောင်တံခါးရှိသမျှသည်ချက်ချင်း ပင်ပွင့်ထွက်သွားကုန်၏။ အကျဉ်းသားအပေါင်း တို့သည် သံကြိုးအနှောင်အဖွဲ့မှလွတ်မြောက် ကြကုန်၏။-
27 The jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison wide open. He drew his sword and was about to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped.
၂၇ထောင်မှူးသည်အိပ်ရာမှနိုး၍ထောင်တံခါး များပွင့်လျက်နေသည်ကိုမြင်လျှင် အကျဉ်း သားများထွက်ပြေးကြပြီဟုထင်မှတ်သဖြင့် ဋ္ဌားကိုဆွဲထုတ်ပြီးလျှင်မိမိကိုယ်ကိုသတ် မည်ပြု၏။-
28 But Paul shouted out, “Don't hurt yourself—we're all still here!”
၂၈သို့ရာတွင်ပေါလုက ``သင်၏ကိုယ်ကိုအန္တရာယ် မပြုနှင့်။ ငါတို့အားလုံးဤနေရာတွင်ရှိနေ ကြသည်'' ဟုကျယ်စွာဟစ်အော်၍ပြော၏။
29 The jailer asked for lights to be brought and rushed in. Shaking with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.
၂၉ထောင်မှူးသည်မီးတိုင်ကိုတောင်းယူပြီးလျှင် ပြေးဝင်၍လာ၏။ သူသည်တုန်လှုပ်လျက် ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့၏ခြေရင်းတွင်ပျပ်ဝပ်၏။-
30 He escorted them out and asked them, “Sirs, what do I have to do so I can be saved?”
၃၀ထိုနောက်သူတို့ကိုအပြင်သို့ခေါ်ဆောင်လာပြီး လျှင် ``အရှင်တို့၊ ကျွန်တော်သည်ကယ်တင်ခြင်း ခံရစေရန် အဘယ်သို့ပြုရပါမည်နည်း'' ဟု မေး၏။
31 “Trust in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your whole household,” they replied.
၃၁သူတို့ကလည်း ``သခင်ယေရှုကိုယုံကြည် လော့။ သို့ယုံကြည်လျှင်သင်နှင့်တကွသင်၏ အိမ်သူအိမ်သားတို့သည် ကယ်တင်ခြင်းကို ခံရကြလိမ့်မည်'' ဟုဆိုပြီးနောက်၊-
32 Then they shared the word of the Lord with him and everyone who lived in his house.
၃၂ထိုသူနှင့်တကွသူ၏အိမ်တွင်ရှိသောသူ အပေါင်းတို့အား သခင်ဘုရား၏နှုတ် ကပတ်တရားတော်ကိုဟောပြောကြ၏။-
33 Even though it was late at night he bathed their wounds, and he was baptized right away, along with all his family.
၃၃ထိုညအချိန်၌ပင်လျှင်ထောင်မှူးသည် ပေါလု နှင့်သိလတို့ကိုခေါ်၍ဒဏ်ချက်ရာများကို ဆေးကြောပေး၏။ ထိုနောက်ချက်ချင်းပင်သူနှင့် တကွအိမ်သူအိမ်သားအပေါင်းတို့သည် ဗတ္တိဇံ မင်္ဂလာခံယူကြ၏။-
34 He took them home and had a meal prepared for them. The jailer and his whole family were full of joy because they trusted in God.
၃၄သူသည်ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့အားမိမိ၏အိမ် သို့ဖိတ်ခေါ်၍ စားဖွယ်သောက်ဖွယ်များကိုတည် ခင်းကျွေးမွေး၏။ သူနှင့်သူ၏အိမ်သားတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်ကိုယုံကြည်လာကြသဖြင့်လွန် စွာရွှင်လန်းဝမ်းမြောက်ကြလေသည်။
35 Early the next day the magistrate sent officials to the jailer, telling him, “Release those men.”
၃၅နောက်တစ်နေ့မိုးလင်းသောအခါအရာရှိ တို့သည် ထိုသူတို့ကိုထောင်မှလွှတ်လိုက်ရန် ရဲအရာရှိများကိုစေလွှတ်၍အမိန့်ဆင့် ဆိုစေကြ၏။-
36 The jailer told Paul, “The magistrates have sent word to release you. So you can leave, and go in peace.”
၃၆သို့ဖြစ်၍ထောင်မှူးသည်ပေါလုအား ``အရာရှိ တို့ကအရှင်တို့အားထောင်မှလွှတ်လိုက်ရန် အမိန့်ပေးပါ၏။ ထိုကြောင့်စိတ်အေးချမ်းစွာ အရှင်တို့သွားကြပါ'' ဟုဆို၏။
37 But Paul told them, “They publicly beat us without a trial—and yet we're Roman citizens! Then they threw us in prison. Now they want to quietly let us go? No, they should come themselves and release us!”
၃၇သို့ရာတွင်ပေါလုက ``ရောမနိုင်ငံသားများ ဖြစ်သောငါတို့အားစစ်ကြောစီရင်ခြင်းမ ပြုဘဲ ငါတို့ကိုလူပရိသတ်ရှေ့တွင်ရိုက်နှက် ၍အကျဉ်းချထားခဲ့ကြ၏။ ယခုငါတို့ကို တိတ်တဆိတ်လွှတ်လိုကြပါသလော။ ထိုသို့ မပြုသင့်။ သူတို့ကိုယ်တိုင်လာ၍ငါတို့ကို ထောင်မှထုတ်ကြပါစေ'' ဟုရဲအရာရှိ တို့အားပြော၏။
38 The officials went back and reported this to the magistrates. When they heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens they were really worried,
၃၈ရဲအရာရှိတို့သည်လည်းဤအကြောင်းကို အရာရှိတို့အားပြန်လည်လျှောက်ထားကြ ၏။ ပေါလုနှင့်သိလတို့သည်ရောမနိုင်ငံသား များဖြစ်ကြောင်းကို အရာရှိတို့ကြားသော အခါကြောက်လန့်ကြ၏။-
39 and went to apologize to them. They escorted them out and begged them to leave town.
၃၉သို့ဖြစ်၍သူတို့သည်လာ၍ပေါလုနှင့်သိလ တို့အားဖျောင်းဖျပြောဆိုကြ၏။ ထိုနောက်သူ တို့ကိုထောင်မှထုတ်ပြီးလျှင် ထိုမြို့မှထွက်ခွာ သွားရန်တောင်းပန်ကြ၏။-
40 So Paul and Silas left the prison and went to Lydia's house. There they met with the believers, encouraged them, and then went on their way.
၄၀သို့ဖြစ်၍သူတို့သည်အကျဉ်းထောင်မှထွက်ခွာ ၍ လုဒိ၏အိမ်သို့သွားကြ၏။ ထိုနောက်ယုံကြည် သူတို့နှင့်တွေ့ဆုံကာအားပေးစကားပြော ကြားပြီးလျှင် ထိုမြို့မှထွက်ခွာသွားကြလေ သည်။
