3 John 1
1 This letter comes from the elder to Gaius, my dear friend, whom I love in the truth.
ப்ராசீநோ (அ)ஹம்’ ஸத்யமதாத்³ யஸ்மிந் ப்ரீயே தம்’ ப்ரியதமம்’ கா³யம்’ ப்ரதி பத்ரம்’ லிகா²மி|
2 My friend, I pray most of all that you're doing well and are in good physical health, for I know you're doing well spiritually.
ஹே ப்ரிய, தவாத்மா யாத்³ரு’க் ஸு²பா⁴ந்விதஸ்தாத்³ரு’க் ஸர்வ்வவிஷயே தவ ஸு²ப⁴ம்’ ஸ்வாஸ்த்²யஞ்ச பூ⁴யாத்|
3 I was delighted when some fellow-believers arrived and told me about your commitment to the truth, and how you continue living in the truth.
ப்⁴ராத்ரு’பி⁴ராக³த்ய தவ ஸத்யமதஸ்யார்த²தஸ்த்வம்’ கீத்³ரு’க் ஸத்யமதமாசரஸ்யேதஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷ்யே த³த்தே மம மஹாநந்தோ³ ஜாத: |
4 Nothing makes me happier than to hear how my dear friends are following the truth.
மம ஸந்தாநா: ஸத்யமதமாசரந்தீதிவார்த்தாதோ மம ய ஆநந்தோ³ ஜாயதே ததோ மஹத்தரோ நாஸ்தி|
5 My friend, you show you are trustworthy in what you're doing by looking after the brothers, even those you don't know.
ஹே ப்ரிய, ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ந் ப்ரதி விஸே²ஷதஸ்தாந் விதே³ஸி²நோ ப்⁴ரு’த்ரு’ந் ப்ரதி த்வயா யத்³யத் க்ரு’தம்’ தத் ஸர்வ்வம்’ விஸ்²வாஸிநோ யோக்³யம்’|
6 They have spoken well about your love in front of the church. Please be so kind as to send them on their journey in a way that God would appreciate,
தே ச ஸமிதே: ஸாக்ஷாத் தவ ப்ரம்ந: ப்ரமாணம்’ த³த்தவந்த: , அபரம் ஈஸ்²வரயோக்³யரூபேண தாந் ப்ரஸ்தா²பயதா த்வயா ஸத்கர்ம்ம காரிஷ்யதே|
7 for they are traveling in his name, not accepting anything from non-believers.
யதஸ்தே தஸ்ய நாம்நா யாத்ராம்’ விதா⁴ய பி⁴ந்நஜாதீயேப்⁴ய: கிமபி ந க்³ரு’ஹீதவந்த: |
8 We ought to support them so we can share together in the truth.
தஸ்மாத்³ வயம்’ யத் ஸத்யமதஸ்ய ஸஹாயா ப⁴வேம தத³ர்த²மேதாத்³ரு’ஸா² லோகா அஸ்மாபி⁴ரநுக்³ரஹீதவ்யா: |
9 I did write about this to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves being in charge, refuses to accept our authority.
ஸமிதிம்’ ப்ரத்யஹம்’ பத்ரம்’ லிகி²தவாந் கிந்து தேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யே யோ தி³யத்ரிபி²: ப்ரதா⁴நாயதே ஸோ (அ)ஸ்மாந் ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி|
10 So if I do visit, I will make it clear what he's been doing. He's been making malicious accusations against us. Not satisfied with doing that, he refuses to welcome any other brothers. He won't let anyone else welcome them either, and throws those who do so out of the church.
அதோ (அ)ஹம்’ யதோ³பஸ்தா²ஸ்யாமி ததா³ தேந யத்³யத் க்ரியதே தத் ஸர்வ்வம்’ தம்’ ஸ்மாரயிஷ்யாமி, யத: ஸ து³ர்வ்வாக்யைரஸ்மாந் அபவத³தி, தேநாபி த்ரு’ப்திம்’ ந க³த்வா ஸ்வயமபி ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ந் நாநுக்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி யே சாநுக்³ரஹீதுமிச்ச²ந்தி தாந் ஸமிதிதோ (அ)பி ப³ஹிஷ்கரோதி|
11 My friend, don't imitate what is evil, but what is good. Those who do what's good belong to God; those who do evil don't know God.
ஹே ப்ரிய, த்வயா து³ஷ்கர்ம்ம நாநுக்ரியதாம்’ கிந்து ஸத்கர்ம்மைவ| ய: ஸத்கர்ம்மாசாரீ ஸ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: , யோ து³ஷ்கர்ம்மாசாரீ ஸ ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ந த்³ரு’ஷ்டவாந்|
12 Everyone speaks well of Demetrius—and the truth does so too! We also speak well of him, and you know we tell the truth.
தீ³மீத்ரியஸ்ய பக்ஷே ஸர்வ்வை: ஸாக்ஷ்யம் அதா³யி விஸே²ஷத: ஸத்யமதேநாபி, வயமபி தத்பக்ஷே ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³த்³ம: , அஸ்மாகஞ்ச ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ ஸத்யமேவேதி யூயம்’ ஜாநீத²|
13 I have so much to say to you, but I don't want to do it in writing with pen and ink.
த்வாம்’ ப்ரதி மயா ப³ஹூநி லேகி²தவ்யாநி கிந்து மஸீலேக²நீப்⁴யாம்’ லேகி²தும்’ நேச்சா²மி|
14 I hope to see you soon so we can talk face to face. May peace be with you! The friends here send their greetings to you. Please personally greet our friends there by name.
அசிரேண த்வாம்’ த்³ரக்ஷ்யாமீதி மம ப்ரத்யாஸா²ஸ்தே ததா³வாம்’ ஸம்முகீ²பூ⁴ய பரஸ்பரம்’ ஸம்பா⁴ஷிஷ்யாவஹே| தவ ஸா²ந்தி ர்பூ⁴யாத்| அஸ்மாகம்’ மித்ராணி த்வாம்’ நமஸ்காரம்’ ஜ்ஞாபயந்தி த்வமப்யேகைகஸ்ய நாம ப்ரோச்ய மித்ரேப்⁴யோ நமஸ்குரு| இதி|
