< 2 Samuel 22 >

1 David sang the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord saved him from all his enemies, and from Saul.
Ɛberɛ a Awurade gyee Dawid firii nʼatamfoɔ nyinaa ne Saulo nsam akyi no, ɔtoo saa dwom yi de yii Awurade ayɛ.
2 He sang: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior.
Nsɛm a ɛwɔ dwom no mu nie: “Awurade yɛ me botan, mʼaban ne mʼagyenkwa;
3 He is my God, my rock who protects me. He shields me from harm, his power saves me, he keeps me safe. He is my protector; he is my savior; he saves me from violence.
me Onyankopɔn yɛ me botan; ne mu na menya banbɔ. Ɔyɛ me kyɛm, me nkwagyeɛ mu ahoɔden ne me banbɔeɛ, mʼabantenten, mʼagyenkwa, deɛ ɔgye me firi basabasayɛ mu.
4 I call for help from the Lord, who should be praised, and he saves me from those who hate me.
“Mesu frɛ Awurade; ɔno na ayɛyie sɛ no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam.
5 The waves of death swept over me; surging waters of destruction flooded over me;
Owuo asorɔkye twaa me ho hyiaeɛ; ɔsɛeɛ yiri faa me so.
6 The grave wound its ropes around me; death set snares for me. (Sheol h7585)
Damena nhoma kyekyeree me; owuo ankasa too me anihaa. (Sheol h7585)
7 In my despair I called on the Lord; I called out to my God. He heard my voice from his Temple; my cry for help reached his ears.
“Na mʼamanehunu mu no, mesu mefrɛɛ Awurade. Aane, mefrɛɛ me Onyankopɔn pɛɛ mmoa. Ɔtee me nne firii ne kronkronbea. Me sufrɛ duruu nʼasom.
8 The earth shook to and fro; the foundations of the heavens trembled, shaking because of his anger.
Na asase wosoeɛ na ɛhinhimeɛ; ɔsoro fapem wosoeɛ; wɔwosoeɛ, nʼabufuo enti.
9 Smoke came out of his nostrils, and fire from his mouth, burning coals that blazed before him.
Wisie firii ne hwene mu; ogyaframa firii nʼanom; na egyasramma dɛre firii mu.
10 He pushed aside the heavens and came down, with dark clouds beneath his feet.
Ɔfirii ɔsoro baa fam; na omununkum kabii duruu ne nan ase.
11 Riding on a heavenly being he flew, swooping on the wings of the wind.
Ɔte Kerubim so tuiɛ; gyaagyaa ne ho wɔ mframa ntaban so.
12 He hid himself in darkness, covering himself with black rainclouds.
Ɔde sum kataa ne ho hyiaeɛ, ɔde osuo omununkum dii nʼanim ɛkan.
13 Burning coals blazed out of his brightness.
Hann kɛseɛ hyerɛn wɔ nʼanim, na anyinam pa firi mu.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
Awurade bobɔɔ mu firi soro; Ɔsorosoroni no teaam denden.
15 He fired his arrows, scattering his enemies, he routed them with his lightning bolts.
Ɔtoo nʼagyan maa nʼatamfoɔ hweteeɛ; anyinam dwaeɛ ma wɔyɛɛ basaa.
16 The Lord roared, and by the wind from the breath of his nostrils the valleys of the sea could be seen and the foundations of the earth were uncovered.
Awurade kasaeɛ, na ewiase nnyinasoɔ no nyinaa daa hɔ. Wɔtumi hunuu ɛpo ase, na asase fapem ho daa hɔ.
17 He reached down his hand from above and grabbed hold of me. He dragged me out of the deep water.
“Ɔfiri ɔsoro baa ɛfam bɛsɔɔ me mu; ɔtwee me firii nsuo a emu dɔ mu.
18 He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and who were much stronger than me.
Ɔgyee me firii mʼatamfoɔ a wɔyɛ den nsam, atamfoɔ a wɔkyiri me na wɔn ho yɛ den pa ara ma me.
19 They came at me at my worst possible moment, but the Lord supported me.
Wɔbaa me so wɔ mʼamanehunu da mu, nanso Awurade pagyaa me.
20 He set me free, he rescued me because he's happy with me.
Ɔde me baa baabi a banbɔ wɔ; ɔgyee me, ɛfiri sɛ, nʼani ku me ho.
21 The Lord rewarded me because I do what's right; he repaid me because I am innocent.
“Awurade ne me adi no sɛdeɛ me tenenee teɛ; wahwɛ me nsa a ɛho teɛ so atua me ka.
22 For I have followed the Lord's ways; I have not sinned by turning away from my God.
Ɛfiri sɛ, manante Awurade akwan so; Mentwee me ho mfirii me Onyankopɔn ho nkɔyɛɛ bɔne.
23 I have kept all his laws in mind; I have not ignored his commandments.
Ne mmara nyinaa gu mʼanim; mentwee me ho mfirii ne nhyehyɛeɛ ho.
24 I am blameless in his sight; I keep myself from sinning.
Me ho nni asɛm wɔ Onyankopɔn anim; matwe me ho afiri bɔne ho.
25 The Lord rewarded me for doing what's right. I am innocent in his sight.
Awurade tuaa me papayɛ so ka, ɛfiri sɛ menni fɔ wɔ nʼanim.
26 You show trust to those who are trusting; you show integrity to those with integrity,
“Woda wo ho adi sɛ ɔnokwafoɔ kyerɛ wɔn a wɔdi nokorɛ, wɔn a wɔdi mu nso wo kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wodi mu.
27 You show yourself pure to those who are pure, but you show yourself astute to those who are crafty.
Woyi wo kronkronyɛ kyerɛ ɔkronkronni, nanso amumuyɛfoɔ deɛ wokyiri wɔn.
28 You save the humble, but your eyes watch the proud to bring them down.
Wogye ahobrɛasefoɔ, nanso wʼani kɔ ahantanfoɔ so sɛ wobɛbrɛ wɔn ase.
29 You, Lord, are my lamp. The Lord lights up my darkness.
Ao Awurade, woyɛ me kanea. Aane, Awurade woma me sum dane hann.
30 With you, I can charge down a troop of soldiers; with you, my God, I can climb a fortress wall.
Wʼahoɔden a wode ma me enti, metumi ka akodɔm gu; me Onyankopɔn enti, metumi foro ɔfasuo.
31 God's way is absolutely right. What the Lord says is trustworthy. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
“Onyankopɔn deɛ, nʼakwan yɛ pɛ; Awurade bɔhyɛ nyinaa ba mu. Ɔyɛ akokyɛm ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ banbɔ wɔ ne mu.
32 For who is God except the Lord? Who is a Rock, except our God?
Hwan ne Onyankopɔn, gye sɛ Awurade? Hwan ne ɔbotantim no, gye sɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn?
33 God makes me strong and keeps me safe.
Onyankopɔn ne mʼaban a ɛyɛ den; wagye me, na wama me kwan so ayɛ pɛ.
34 He makes me surefooted like the deer, able to walk the heights in safety.
Ɔma mʼanammɔn ho yɛ hare sɛ ɔforoteɛ deɛ; Ɔma me gyina sorɔnsorɔmmea.
35 He teaches me how to fight in battle; he gives me the strength to draw a bronze bow.
Ɔsiesie me ma ɔko; na mʼabasa tumi kuntunu kɔbere mfrafraeɛ tadua.
36 You protect me with the shield of your salvation; your help has made me great.
Woama me wo nkwagyeɛ kyɛm. Wo mmoa ama mayɛ ɔkɛseɛ.
37 You gave me room to walk, and prevented my feet from slipping.
Woabɔ ɛkwan tɛtrɛɛ ama me nan sɛdeɛ ɛrenwatiri.
38 I chased my enemies, and caught up with them. I did not turn around until I had destroyed them.
“Metaa mʼatamfoɔ so sɛee wɔn; mannyina kɔsii sɛ wɔdii nkoguo.
39 I struck them down—they couldn't get up. They fell at my feet.
Meyamoo wɔn, mebɔɔ wɔn hwee fam, na wɔantumi ansɔre; wɔhwehwee ase wɔ me nan ase.
40 You made me strong for the battle; you made those who rose up against me kneel low before me.
Wohyɛɛ me ahoɔden maa ɔko; woaka mʼatamfoɔ ahyɛ me nan ase.
41 You made my enemies run away; I destroyed all my enemies.
Womaa wɔdanee wɔn ani dwaneeɛ, na mesɛe wɔn a wɔtan me nyinaa.
42 They cried out for help, but no one came to rescue them. They even called out to the Lord, but he did not answer them.
Wɔsu pɛɛ mmoa, nanso obiara ammɛgye wɔn. Wɔsu frɛɛ Awurade, nanso wannye wɔn so.
43 I ground them into dust, like the dust of the earth. I crushed them and threw them out like mud in the street.
Meyamoo wɔn ma wɔyɛɛ sɛ asase so mfuturo; mepraa wɔn guu nsuka mu sɛ wira.
44 You rescued me from rebellious people; you have kept me as ruler over nations—people I didn't know now serve me.
“Womaa me nkonimdie wɔ wɔn a wɔbɔ me kwaadu so. Woahwɛ sɛ mɛyɛ amanaman sodifoɔ; na nnipa a mennim wɔn som me.
45 Foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey.
Ananafoɔ brɛ wɔn ho ase ma me; wɔte me nka pɛ ara a, wɔde wɔn ho ma me.
46 They lose heart, and come trembling in surrender from their strongholds.
Wɔn nyinaa bɔ huboa, na wɔde ahopopoɔ firi wɔn nsraban mu ba.
47 The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! May the God who saves me be praised!
“Awurade te ase! Ayɛyi nka me botan, ma wɔmma Onyankopɔn, me nkwagyeɛ botan so.
48 God avenges me, he puts peoples under me,
Ɔno ne Onyankopɔn a ɔtɔ wɔn a wɔha me so awere; ɔka amanaman no hyɛ mʼase
49 He frees me from those who hate me. You keep me safe from those who rebel against me, you save me from violent men.
na ɔgye me firi mʼatamfoɔ nsam. Wode me si baabi a mʼatamfoɔ nnuru, wogye me firi atutupɛfoɔ a wɔtia me nsam.
50 That's why I will praise you among the nations, Lord; I will sing praises about who you are.
Ao Awurade yei enti, mɛkamfo wo wɔ amanaman mu nyinaa; na mɛto ayɛyie nnwom ama wo edin.
51 You have saved the king so often, showing your trustworthy love to David, your anointed, and to his descendants forever.”
“Wode nkonimdie akɛseɛ ama wo ɔhene; woda ɔdɔ a ɛnsa da adi kyerɛ deɛ woasra no ngo, wode kyerɛ Dawid, ne nʼasefoɔ afebɔɔ.”
