< 2 Samuel 12 >
1 The Lord sent Nathan to see David. When he got there, he said, “Once there were two men living in the same town. One was rich, and one was poor.
Hiti chun Nathan themgaopa chu Pakaiyin David komah asol tan ahi: Hichun Nathanin jong David koma hitin aga seiye, “Khopi sung khat’a hin pasal ni acheng lhonin, khatpa chu mihao ahin, khat jopa vang chu mivaicha ahi.
2 The rich man had many thousands of sheep and cattle,
Hichun mihaopa hin kelngoihon tamtah le bonghon tampi aneiyin ahi.
3 but the poor man didn't have anything but one small ewe lamb that he had bought. He cared for it, and it grew up with him and his children. It would eat from his plate and drank from his cup. It slept on his lap and was like a daughter to him.
Ahin mivaichapa vang chun imacha aneipoi, ahin aman alel lel a akichoh kelngoipi khat seh seh bou aneiye. Hijongle aman akelngoipi chu akivah vah-in achate toh phatechan avah in ahi; kelngoipi hin ama changlhah aneh ding an jong anejin, adon ding twi jong ama khon sunga konin adon ji'e; chutengle a-angsunga alum jin, achanu tobang bangin aumtan ahi.
4 One day the rich man had a visitor. He didn't want to take one of his own sheep or cattle to feed his visitor. He took the poor man's lamb instead to prepare a meal for his visitor.”
Hichelai hin kholjin mikhat mihaopa koma chun ahung lhung in ahileh, hiche kholjinpa thapeh ding chun mihaopan jong ama kelngoi hon lah a khattou thapeh ding jong a-ittan, chule ama bonghon lah a kona khattou thapeh ding jong a-it tai; ahin mivaichapa kelngoipi khat sheh anei chu aman in akoma hung kholjin pa ding chun atha peh tan ahi,” ati.
5 David became absolutely furious with what that man did, and angrily told Nathan. “As the Lord lives, the man who did this should be put to death!
Chutah chun David jong alung hangjah jengin hiche mihaopa douna chun Nathan themgao koma chun hitin aseitai, “Pakai hing jing mina kasei ahi, hitobanga kisa chonvalpa chu thi dinga kilom mong ahibouve!
6 He must repay that lamb with four of his own for doing this, for being so heartless.”
Chujongle aman voujang natna beihela hitobang thilpi hi abol jeh hin aman kelngoipi chu ajat li’a asah kit ding ahi,’ atitai.
7 “You are that man!” Nathan told David. “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I anointed you king of Israel, and I saved you from Saul.
Chuin Nathan themgaopan David koma aseipai jengin, “Hichea kisei mihaopa hi nangma nahi, Pakai Israel Pathenin hitin aseiye, ‘Nang hi keiman Israel chate chunga leng chang dinga thao kanusa nahin, chule Saul thaneina a kon kanahuhdoh nahiye.
8 I gave your master's house to you and placed your master's wives in your lap. I gave you the kingdom of Israel and Judah, and if that hadn't been enough, I would have given you so much more.
Chujongle napupa Saul’in, ajiteu jouse chule Israel insung pumpi le Judah insung pumpi jong kapeh nahi; hicheng jong hi alhom behseh na laiya ahileh tamtah kapehbe ding nahi nalaiye.
9 So why have you treated what Lord said with contempt by doing evil in his sight? You killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword and stole his wife—you killed him using the sword of the Ammonites.
Chuti ahileh epi dinga nangman Pakai thusei nanot thap a hitabang tijat umtah thil hi nabol hitam? Nangman Hittite mipa Uriah chu nadengin Ammon mite chemjamin nathat nin, chule ajinu jong naji din nakipui jeng theiye.
10 So your descendants will always face the sword that kills because you treated me with contempt and stole Uriah's wife.
Hijeh a chu tua hi nangma insunga kona jong chemjam lang jing jeng ding ahi. ajeh chu nangin keima nahsah mon neibolin, Hittite mipa Uriah jinu chu naji din nakipuitai,’ tin aseiye.
11 This is what the Lord says: I'm going to bring disaster in you from your own family. I will take your wives before your very eyes and give them to someone else, and he will sleep openly with your wives where everyone can see.
Chuin Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, ajeh chu nangman nathil bol banga, keiman nangma insunga kona nadou ding thilse kahin kondoh sah ding ahi. chule namitmu changtah a najite jeng jong kalah peh a naheng nakom mite kapeh doh ding, chule amahon japi mitmu lai jenga jong najite chu aluppi dingu ahi.
12 You did it all in secret, but I will do it openly where everyone in all of Israel can see.”
Ijeh inem itileh nangman nathil bol chu guhthima nabol ahin, keiman vang Israel chate pumpi mitmu dinga kabol ding ahi,’ tin aseiye.”
13 David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” “The Lord has forgiven your sins. You're not going to die,” Nathan replied.
Chutah chun David in jong Nathan koma hitin aseiye, “Keima Pakai dounan kachonsetai,” atin ahileh; Nathan jong chun David koma aseipaiyin, “Pakaiyin nachonset angaidam tai. hijeh a chu hiche chonset jeh in nangma thi tapon nate.
14 “But because by doing this you have treated the Lord with complete contempt, the son you have will die.”
Hijongle nangin hiche thil hi nabol a Pakai chu nahsah mo tah a nabol a nataitom ahitan, hijeh a chu ahung peng ding nacha chu thitei tei ding ahi tai,” tin aseitai.
15 Then Nathan went home. The Lord made the child that Uriah's wife had borne to David become very sick.
Hichun Nathan ainlama achijou chun. Pakaiyin Uriah jinu hin David chapa chu gotna apen ahileh naosen chu apet petin adammo pai tan ahi.
16 David pleaded with God on behalf of the boy. He fasted, went to his bedroom, and spent the night lying in sackcloth on the ground.
Hijeh chun David jong naosen adamna din Pakai henga atao tao tan ahi; David chun an angolin apotdoh in, jan khovah hel chun tollhanga alumin ahi.
17 His senior officials approached him and tried to help him up from the ground, but he didn't want to, and he refused their appeals to eat.
Chuphat’in ainsung mi upa chengsen ajol jol jenguvin chule tollhanga alupnaa kona tho doh sah tei din agouve; ahinla David chu akithou doh deh pon, chule an jong aneh pi deh pouve.
18 On the seventh day the child died. But David's officials were scared to tell him that the child was dead, for they said to each other, “Look, while the child was still alive, we talked with him, and he refused to listen to us. How on earth can we tell him the child is dead? He may do something really bad!”
Ahivangin nisagi lhin nin naosen chu athi tan ahi. Hichun naosen chu athitai’ tia David koma sei peh ding asohte chu akicha tauve; ajeh chu amaho geldola, vetan, naosen ahinlaiya bon eiho thusei angai louva ahileh, tua naosen athitai, tia iti iseidoh ngam diu ham? Amale ama kithalo mai ding ahi,” tia angaitou ahiye.
19 But David saw his officials were whispering among themselves, he realized that the child was dead. So he asked his officials, “Did the child die?” “Yes, he died,” they replied.
Ahin David chun asohte chu akhoisa cheh tauve ti ahetdoh phat’in naosen chu athi ahitai tin David’in ahedoh pai paitan ahi; hijeh chun David chun asohte chu adong in, “Naosen chu athia hitam?” atileh amahon jong, “Athitai,’ atiuve.
20 David got up from the ground, washed and put on scented oils, and changed his clothes. Then he went to the house of the Lord and worshiped. Afterwards he went back home, and asked for some food. So they served him a meal which he ate.
Chuphat’in David jong tol'a alupna a konin ahung thou dohin akisil ngim in, thao akinun, aponsil akhel’in, Pakai houin sunga avah lut’in chibai agaboh-e; chujouvin David chu ama inlama ahung in an athum in amahon jong ankong aluipeh-uva ahileh, an anetan ahi.
21 “Why are you acting like this?” his officials asked him. “While the child was still alive, you fasted and cried aloud, but now that he's dead, you get up and eat.”
Hichun asohten ajah a aseiyuve, “Ipibola hitia hi naum ham? naosen ahai hai pet in an nangol in nakap kap jengin, naosen athi tah bah phat in nathou doh in an nane jenge,’ atiuve.
22 David replied, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and cried aloud, for I thought to myself, ‘Who knows? Maybe the Lord will be gracious to me and let him live.’
Hichun David in jong hitin adonbut’e, “Naosen ahinpet a chu an kangola kaka ka ahin, “Kon ija ahet thei ham, ajo le Pakaiyin eilungset a naosen hi ahin hin sah thei ahi?” tia keiman kagel jeh ahi.
23 But now that he's dead, what's the point for me to go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? One day I will die and go to him, but he will never come back to me.”
Ahin tun vang ama athia ahitan ibola an kangol ngol nah lai ding ham? ken ama chu kahinsah theiya nabol’uham? keibou ama koma nikhat le kache ding ahin, ama chu kahenga hung kile kit louhel ding ahitai,” ati.
24 David consoled his wife Bathsheba, and he made love to her. She gave birth to a son, and named him Solomon. The Lord loved the child,
Hichun David’in ajinu Bathsheba alhem lung mongin akoma aga lut kit’in aluppin ahileh amanun nao ahinvop in chapa khat ahing kit’e; Chule David in amin Solomon asah in ahi. Pakaiyin amahi angailui.
25 so he sent a message through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah, because the Lord loved him.
Hijeh chun Nathan themgaopa henga ahin hetsah in ahileh Nathanin Pakai thusei dungjuiyin ama chu amin Jedidiah tinjong aminvo kit’e, (hichu Pakaiyin angailut tina ahi).
26 At this time Joab had been fighting against the Ammonite town of Rabbah, and had captured the royal fortress.
Chuin Joab chun Ammon mite khopi lanlung Rabbah chu adel khumin gal’in akisat pin ahileh ajouvin leng khopi chu alatan ahi.
27 Joab sent messengers to David to tell him, “I have attacked Rabbah and I have also captured its water supply.
Chuin Joab chun David koma sottolle miho asol’in agasei sah tai, “Keiman Rabbah kaga kisat pin, twiphai khopi chu kajoutai tin.
28 So please call up the rest of the army, besiege the town, and capture it. Otherwise I will capture the city, and I will get the credit.”
Hijeh chun tun mipi amoh cheng khom tup’in lang khopi dounan ngahmun hung sem tan, chule akhopi jong hung toupha jengin, achuti louva ahileh keiman akhopi hi kalah a keima min kaputsah ding ahi tai,” ati.
29 So David called up the rest of the army and marched on Rabbah. He attacked it and captured it.
Hijeh chun David in mipi abonchan akhom soh keiyin Rabbah khopi lama achen, chule akhopi dou nan gal abol’in akisat pin ahileh ajouvin akhopi chu alatan ahi.
30 He took the crown from the head of their king, and it was placed on David's head. It weighed a talent of gold and was decorated with precious stones. David took a large amount of plunder from the town.
Chule alengpau lallukhuh chu David in aluchanga konin alahdoh peh in chule amalu changah akikoi tan ahi. alallukhuh chu sana le songman tam a kisem chule agih dan chu pound somsagi le nga ahi. chujongle asunga chun song mantam tah akikoiyin. Chujongleh David chun Rabbah khopia thil thang tamtah ahin chom doh in ahi.
31 David took the inhabitants and forced them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes, and he also made them work making bricks. He did the same in all the Ammonite towns. Then David and the whole Israelite army returned to Jerusalem.
Chujongle akhopi sunga cheng mipi jouse chu gal hing-in akaiyin, chule thing-at dingle tuphul kheng dingle, heicha kheng dingin agoiyin, chule cheh dengin apansah tai. Hitichun David chun hitobanga hi Ammon mite khopi jouse anabol ahi; chujouvin David le mipi chu abonchauvin Jerusalema ahung kile kit tauvin ahi.
