2 Kings 8
1 Elisha told the woman whose son he had brought back to life, “You and your family need to pack up and leave, and live where you can somewhere else like a foreigner. For the Lord announced a famine will come to the land and will last seven years.”
Atunci Elisei a vorbit femeii pe al cărui fiu îl înviase, spunând: Ridică-te și du-te, tu și casa ta, și locuiește temporar oriunde poți să locuiești temporar, pentru că DOMNUL a chemat o foamete; și aceasta va veni de asemenea asupra țării șapte ani.
2 The woman packed up and did what the man of God had told her. She and her family went and lived as foreigners for seven years in the country of the Philistines.
Și femeia s-a ridicat și a făcut după spusa omului lui Dumnezeu; și a mers ea și casa ei și a locuit temporar în țara filistenilor șapte ani.
3 When the seven years were over, she came back from the country of the Philistines and went to the king to appeal for the return of her house and lands.
Și s-a întâmplat, la sfârșitul celor șapte ani, că femeia s-a întors din țara filistenilor; și a ieșit să strige către împărat pentru casa ei și pentru pământul ei.
4 The king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, asking him, “Please tell me about all the wonderful things Elisha did.”
Și împăratul vorbea cu Ghehazi, servitorul omului lui Dumnezeu, zicând: Spune-mi, te rog, toate lucrurile mari pe care Elisei le-a făcut.
5 It so happened that right then Gehazi was telling the king the story of how Elisha had brought the dead boy back to life when his mother arrived to make her appeal to the king for the return of her house and lands. “My lord the king,” Gehazi called out, “this is the woman, and this is her son that Elisha brought back to life.”
Și s-a întâmplat, pe când istorisea el împăratului cum înviase un trup mort la viață, că, iată, femeia, pe al cărei fiu îl înviase, a strigat către împărat pentru casa ei și pentru pământul ei. Și Ghehazi a spus: Domnul meu, împărate, aceasta este femeia și acesta este fiul ei pe care Elisei l-a înviat.
6 The king asked the woman about it and she explained the whole story to him. The king gave orders to an official, saying, “Make sure everything that belonged to her is returned to her, together with all the profit from her lands from the day that she left the country until now.”
Și când împăratul a întrebat pe femeie, ea i-a istorisit. Astfel împăratul i-a rânduit un anumit ofițer, spunând: Întoarce-i tot ce era al ei și toate roadele pământului începând din ziua în care ea a părăsit țara, chiar până acum.
7 Elisha went to Damascus when Ben-hadad king of Aram was ill. The king was informed, “The man of God has arrived in town.”
Și Elisei a venit la Damasc; și Ben-Hadad, împăratul Siriei, era bolnav; și i s-a spus, zicând: Omul lui Dumnezeu a venit aici.
8 The king ordered Hazael, “Take a gift with you and go and meet the man of God. Ask him to ask the Lord, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”
Și împăratul i-a spus lui Hazael: Ia un dar în mâna ta și du-te, întâlnește-l pe omul lui Dumnezeu și întreabă-l pe DOMNUL prin el, zicând: Mă voi însănătoși de această boală?
9 So Hazael went to meet Elisha. He took with him a gift of all the best things from Damascus—forty camel-loads of goods. He came in and stood before him and said, “Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you to ask, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’”
Astfel Hazael a mers să îl întâlnească și a luat un dar în mâna sa din orice lucru bun al Damascului, o încărcătură de patruzeci de cămile; și a venit și a stat în picioare înaintea lui și a spus: Fiul tău, Ben-Hadad, împăratul Siriei, m-a trimis la tine, spunând: Mă voi însănătoși de această boală?
10 “Go and tell him, ‘You will definitely recover.’ But the Lord has shown me that definitely he is going to die,” Elisha replied.
Și Elisei i-a spus: Du-te, spune-i: Cu adevărat te vei însănătoși; totuși DOMNUL mi-a arătat că el va muri negreșit.
11 Elisha stared at him for a long time until Hazael became uncomfortable. Then the man of God started to cry.
Și și-a îndreptat fața țintă spre el, până s-a rușinat; și omul lui Dumnezeu a plâns.
12 “Why are you crying, my lord?” asked Hazael. “Because I know the evil things you are going to do to the Israelites,” Elisha replied. “You will set their fortresses on fire, kill their young men with the sword, dash to pieces their little ones, and rip open their pregnant women.”
Și Hazael a zis: De ce plânge domnul meu? Iar el a răspuns: Pentru că știu răul pe care îl vei face copiilor lui Israel: întăriturilor lor le vei pune foc și pe tinerii lor îi vei ucide cu sabia și vei zdrobi pe copiii lor și vei spinteca pe femeile lor însărcinate.
13 “But how could someone like me who's just a ‘dog’ achieve anything like that?” Hazael asked. “The Lord has shown me that you are going to be the king of Aram,” Elisha replied.
Și Hazael a zis: Dar ce, este servitorul tău un câine, ca să facă acest lucru mare? Și Elisei a răspuns: DOMNUL mi-a arătat că vei fi împărat peste Siria.
14 Hazael left Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did Elisha tell you?” Hazael replied, “He told me you would definitely recover.”
Și el a plecat de la Elisei și a venit la stăpânul său, care i-a zis: Ce ți-a spus Elisei? Iar el a răspuns: Mi-a zis că te vei însănătoși cu siguranță.
15 But the following day Hazael took the bed cover, soaked it in water, and spread it over the king's face until he died. Then Hazael took over from him as king.
Și s-a întâmplat a doua zi, că a luat o pânză groasă și a înmuiat-o în apă și a întins-o peste fața lui și a murit; și Hazael a domnit în locul său.
16 Jehoram, son of Jehoshaphat, began his reign as king of Judah in the fifth year of the reign of Joram, son of Ahab, king of Israel, while Jehoshaphat was still king of Judah.
Și în al cincilea an al lui Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, împăratul lui Israel, Iosafat fiind atunci împărat peste Iuda, Ioram, fiul lui Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, a început să domnească.
17 He was thirty-two when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem for eight years.
El era în vârstă de treizeci și doi de ani când a început să domnească; și a domnit opt ani la Ierusalim.
18 Jehoram followed the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for he married a daughter of Ahab and did what was evil in the Lord's sight.
Și el a umblat în calea împăraților lui Israel, precum făcuse casa lui Ahab, pentru că fiica lui Ahab era soția lui; și el a făcut ce este rău înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI.
19 But for the sake of David his servant the Lord didn't want to destroy Judah since he had promised him that there would always be a ruler from his descendants, like a lamp forever.
Totuși DOMNUL nu a dorit să nimicească pe Iuda, datorită lui David, servitorul său, precum îi promisese că îi va da întotdeauna o lumină, lui și copiilor lui.
20 During Jehoram's time as king, Edom rebelled against Judah's rule and chose their own king.
În zilele lui, Edomul s-a răzvrătit de sub mâna lui Iuda și și-au pus un împărat peste ei.
21 So Jehoram went over to Zair with all his chariots. The Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, but he took action and attacked at night. But his army ran back to their homes.
Astfel Ioram a trecut la Țair și toate carele au mers cu el; și s-a ridicat noaptea și i-a lovit pe edomiții care îl încercuiseră și pe căpeteniile carelor; și oamenii au fugit la corturile lor.
22 As a result Edom has been in rebellion against Judah's rule to this day. At the same time Libnah also decided to rebel.
Totuși Edomul s-a răzvrătit de sub mâna lui Iuda până în ziua aceasta. Atunci Libna s-a răzvrătit în același timp.
23 The rest of what happened in Jehoram's reign and all that he did are recorded in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.
Și restul faptelor lui Ioram și tot ce a făcut, nu sunt ele scrise în cartea cronicilor împăraților lui Iuda?
24 Jehoram died and was buried with his forefathers in the City of David. His son Ahaziah succeeded him as king.
Și Ioram a adormit cu părinții săi și a fost îngropat cu părinții săi în cetatea lui David; și Ahazia, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.
25 Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, became king of Judah in the twelfth year of the reign of Joram, son of Ahab, king of Israel.
În al doisprezecelea an al lui Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, împăratul lui Israel, a început să domnească Ahazia, fiul lui Ioram, împăratul lui Iuda.
26 Ahaziah was twenty-two when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri, king of Israel.
Ahazia era în vârstă de douăzeci și doi de ani când a început să domnească; și a domnit un an la Ierusalim. Și numele mamei lui era Atalia, fiica lui Omri, împăratul lui Israel.
27 Ahaziah also followed the evil ways of the family of Ahab, and did what was evil in the Lord's sight as the family of Ahab had done, for he was related to them by marriage.
Și el a umblat în calea casei lui Ahab și a făcut ce este rău înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI, precum făcuse casa lui Ahab, pentru că el era ginerele casei lui Ahab.
28 Ahaziah went with Joram, son of Ahab, to fight against Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead. The Arameans wounded Joram,
Și el a mers cu Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, la războiul împotriva lui Hazael, împăratul Siriei, în Ramot-Galaad; și sirienii l-au rănit pe Ioram.
29 and he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he'd received in Ramah fighting against Hazael king of Aram. Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went to Jezreel to visit Joram, son of Ahab, because Joram was wounded.
Și împăratul Ioram s-a întors să se vindece în Izreel, de rănile pe care i le făcuseră sirienii la Rama, când luptase împotriva lui Hazael, împăratul Siriei. Și Ahazia, fiul lui Ioram, împăratul lui Iuda, a coborât să îl vadă pe Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, în Izreel, pentru că era bolnav.
